Hey guys,

I'm trying to make dining reservations online, and I think I might be doing something wrong. First of all, I'm leaving for Disney on January 6th and staying at the All-Star Music resort, so I should be able to make reservations now, right?

When I go to retrieve reservation, it seems to work fine. A message comes up saying "To make your reservation, please enter the requested information" and there's a code underlined in red under that message. However, when I go to the dates on the calendar, the days are only highlighted up to December 29th. Do I need to do something else? Thanks.

You can start making your ADRs on 10/08/2009. What the 90+10 rule means is once you hit the 90 day mark, AND you are staying on property, you can make ADRs for the first 10 days of your trip.

I'm not quite sure what web page you were on. It should work if you just go to the Disney dining site (http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/dining), choose a restaurant and click "book a reservation." On that page it will ask if you want to link this ADR to your resort reservation and to click on "retrieve your reservation" if you do. If the system is working - which is admittedly an iffy proposition these days - some boxes should appear asking for your resort reservation number, last name, date of arrival, and resort. Once you enter that, again assuming things work correctly - the page should show that you have a reservation for whatever dates at whichever resort. At that point, you can click on the date and move the calendar forward to your arrival date. Your arrival date and the next ten days should be in blue, meaning you can make ADR's for any of those dates.

I have noticed that when I have tried to retrieve my resort reservation at any other location on the Disney website, I consistently get an error. I'll admit that I occasionally get one on the dining site too, but it works way more often than it doesn't, for me anyway.

Edited to add: I hadn't stopped to think about the date you were going - it's too early to open up the 90+10 dates anyway. You don't get to make ADRs ten days before your arrival date - you just get to make them 90 days from your arrival date for the remaining dates of your vacation. Even so, that site should still comfirm that you have a resort reservation, even if you are outside the 90 days.

Just as an FYI, the red error code that you are seeing isn't related to you doing anything wrong, or to the fact that your 90 day window hasn't arrived yet. It's just related to something wrong in the system that a lot of us are getting.

I'm not aware of any pattern as to who, when, where, or why it happens. Let's just hope that it gets solved by the time that your 90 day point arrives.
