I have a question about my daughter who is 9 now and will turn 10 in early April. We are planning on going to DW in mid-April. Can I still get the child's rate for the Dining Plan? It feels awkward if we tell DW she is here to celebrate her 10th birthday and yet we are saying she is 9 years old (at the time of booking) for the Dining Plan.

As I understand it-if she is 9 when you check in-she is counted as 9 for the trip.

I thought age for dining plan was determined by your age when you check in, not when you book? So if she is 10 by the time of your trip, she cannot get the child's rate.
I'm sure someone will be able to correct me if I am wrong!

:)

Her age is determined by your check in date. So if she's 9 on your check-in date, you'll get the child rate for the whole week

Her age at BOOKING has nothing to do with it. They specifically ask you what age she'll be at check in.

You know the answer to this question and that's why it feels ackward.

Can you fudge it? Sure. But then your daughter will have to be in on it...and you get to explain to her why lying isn't really a lie if dad gets a deal. :lmao: LOL.

It's such a bummer that 10 is the magic number. Although I will say my oldest just turned 10 and she can't stand ordering from kids menu anywhere...she wants the adult meals, no chicken tenders and fries for her. LOL.

Good luck. It's $20 per day more but then she gets more variety and choices and maybe dad can eat her leftovers? :thumbsup2

Oh and could you bump it to the week of her birthday? That would be a win-win. If I were so close it would be tempting for sure.....

Our dd's must be related. When mine was 9, I had to buy the adult dining plan for her. (Fortunately, we were AP holders, so I didn't have to pay extra for her tickets. Her child's AP was good until it expired.)

We went on a 10 day package last trip with DDP, and my 9 year old hated the kids menu, she is a pickey eater, and a healthy eater, and hated fast food meals. The healthy versions on the plan was also, not very appetizing. At least she is 12 this year and can't wait to eat the adult meals, I'm just sad that I have to pay so much more, they should make a tween plan!! My oldest daughter eats like a mouse, darn those great eating habits when I'm paying so much!!

Nine at check in is the kids rate. 10 at check in is the adult rate.
