Hi Friends!!

My ADR day is Monday and I have never booked for so many people before, my max has been 5 in the past. Any tips and tricks for booking 9 people for food? Here are my restaurants, dates & times in order of priority. Are there any restaurants on the list that I should just break down into 2 parties and have my sister book half of the reservation? I know that BOG & AH have tables that fit 9 but was wondering about Sci-Fi and some of the others. Also, I will have an infant with us (10th person) that isn't on the reservation, do I need to worry about booking space for him? Maybe I need to call Disney but thought I would crowd source my question first!!

Rank Restaurant Date Time
1 Be Our Guest 27-Oct 5pm
2 Akershaus 28-Oct 8am
3 Sci-Fi Diner 25-Oct 12pm
4 Via Napoli 23-Oct 12pm
5 Sanaa 26-Oct 5:30pm
5 Chef Mickey's 29-Oct 11am
6 Luau 24-Oct 5:15pm
7 Skipper's Canteen 27-Oct 11am
8 Mickey's Backyard BBQ 22-Oct 5:30pm

9 may be a lot at certain places as they have a limited number of large tables. The other question you may want to ask yourself is do you want to eat each and every meal with the whole group?
9 is most I've ever been with and technically you have 10. We'd eat 1 and sometimes 2 meals per day as a group but rarely 3. That's up to you of course. But I think you will see some longer waits waiting for 10 than for 2 groups of5 each.

We are only doing 1 TS per day so only one sit down meal per day. I wonder where I can find which restaurants don't have tables that support this group size? I am betting this is why Disney says to call them if your party is 10 or more!

Thanks for the response!!

You must count every person that will at the table, even the infant.

You may have better luck on the restaurant board. Also skippers canteen is still only doing day of reservations so that knocks one off of your list.

10 is a lot to coordinate. (and it does have to be 10). Make sure everyone is committed to meeting up for the meals. Also, the lunch at Chef Mickey's at 11 is an odd time---you won't have much time in the park before you have to head over for lunch.

There are tables for 10 but not many. I have troubles finding slots for 6 (Disney's system is broken for large parties, I've been unable to book a table for 6 and then walk up to the restaurant and it's empty). Try to get your schedule planned as well as you can and make the reservations as early as possible (6 months + a week if you're staying on resort).

Thanks for the feedback! Chef Mickey's is on our departure day - we like to say goodbye to the Mouse before we head to the airport :) I chatted with Disney today and she said that I should try to book for 10 and if no luck then immediately break my reservation down. I can call them to book everything for me since I am a party of 10 but I lose an hour in my booking window which stinks! I have my sister working with me now to book the splits on her end since I can't book both parts of a split.

Ugh - why do they have to make it so hard to have fun :)

I've been booking meals for our trip that begins in late May, and I have to tell them which people in my party of 4 are going to be the 4 at the table, so for each online reservation, I have to click my husband's and sons' names. If your party is 5 and your sisters' is 4, the online system may not let you book a table for 9. Years ago when I booked over the phone for my brother's family and my family -- and we were 9 people -- I had to have his confirmation number as well as ours to book meals for both families. And meals together allowed us to meet up and to fly apart as needed. I would call right away and ask the CM how your meal booking will work. And remember to book the Be Our Guest first -- most of the rest do not need to be booked exactly 120 days out.

I've booked adrs for 12 for two trips online with no problems. We did Via Napoli (2x), the Plaza (2x), BOG lunch, Tusker House (2x), Akershus, Sci-Fi (2x), and Biergarten. Some we returned the second trip as well by popular demand.
