we are arriving on the 15th from Montreal, Canada.

Any tips? We are staying at ASSports for 7 nights with 7-day park ticket. We are schedule to arrive at noon so we reserve a car for a day on Sunday to do some groceries and go to the Prime Outlet then hoping to come back to our hotel to rest for a while then head to MK to watch the 9pm parade....you think we are insane considering we need to be at the airport at 3am???!!!

I just don't want my 1 day park ticket to go to waste.

We are a family of four (kids are 6 and 4). My kids will be sleeping in the plane for sure.

Just be flexible and willing to change that plan should something not go the way you anticipate. My kids have never been able to sleep on planes. good luck.

If its your first time nobody will be able to sleep even on the night before, As for your palns....just be flexible for change

Amusez-vous à Walt Disney World!

Well that one day only costs you $3, so I wouldn't stress about it too much.

I would bet money that your kids won't sleep on the plane. ;)

yes, I am very flexible about my plan and have my mind set that we are never going to do all the stuffs (a good excuse to my hubby if I want to go back again)

i am hoping my kids will sleep on the plane :)

We will be driving from Ottawa to Montreal the night before so I am hoping we can rest a little bit on the plane :)

Merci!!!

Congrats on only having 9 sleeps! I have 29 more!!!
What kind of tips are looking for? I would suggest to go slow, take time to smell the flowers type of thing. Work out a plan so everyone gets to do and see what they want. Take advantage of the photopass photographers! Its great to get the whole family in pictures! Try to plan some "down time" swim, relax, resort hop, etc.
Have fun!!!
Hope you have a great vacation.

Remember to take your time to relax, and soak in the atmosphere and the details!

Have a safe and wonderful trip! :goodvibes

Take rain poncho's and keep moving. It could rain every day but with poncho's you can keep moving and get ahead of the crowd to the next ride. It will not rain for long.

Our first couple of trips started with 3am departures from home and the hopes of our kids sleeping on the plane. Well, that didn't exactly go as planned because for little ones, the plane is also and exciting adventure (much to the chagrin of sleepy parents). I would possibly consider the MK parade "optional". See if you and kids feel up to it rather than dragging weary bodies into the park. It may be better for you to get a good night's sleep and start bright and early the next morning.

Well, I just got back so I can definitely give you some tips.

Like others said, make sure you take your time. Disney is a BIG place and if we run around too much in the morning, you'll be tired and cranky in the afternoon. I don't know how important it is to you to stay in the park all day everyday, but even if you take just like 2 days where you return to your resort hotel for a midday break, it really helps to keep you cool, relaxed, and can keep your energy up. My best friend and I did this everyday and we loved it.

As for the heat, it was super hot out but it wasn't horrible because most places and queues are air conditioned. Also, if it rains, make sure you have a poncho or rain jacket handy. It will probably only rain for little spurts at a time, but those spurts pretty much scare everyone indoors. You can really get from place to place without a lot of hassle during that time. That is, if you don't mind a little rain. :rotfl:

Thanks a lot for the tips.

We are planning to be at the rope drop every morning (my kids are awake at 6am every morning even on weekends) and go back to our hotel by lunch time to relax/nap then head back again at the night.

I know we won't be able to do everything all in one day so we are taking our time and enjoying the park.

What time do you leave on your last day? I ask because if you are staying 7 nights you actually have 8 days in FL. You could use that 7th day ticket on the last day instead of the first. If you do that and still want to do something on your first night after a rest, go to the Boardwalk. There are a ton of things to do over there and you could see Illuminations fireworks from Epcot. That way you still get some Disney magic that night.

Our flight is at 10:45am on Sunday, Aug. 22 so Sunday is really out of the picture :)

Our first trip to Disney was in August and when it wasn't raining it was very hot.
Most definitely bring ponchos (check your dollar store). I also packed a hand towel in the backpack to wipe off seats if they were wet and also our hands.

Listen to your kids. If they start to get cranky they likely need a snack or a rest. There are lots of shows to see which gives you a chance to rest, even some of the rides are relaxing.

Don't have too many rigid expectations. I never would have expected that my girls would want to ride the Tomorrowland Transit Authority four times in a row! I also never expected my daughter who hates shopping to want to look at EVERY piece of merchandise in EVERY gift shop. ( This is where I had to remind myself to be patient!)

Also, don't force your kids to try/ride something they are scared of just because you want to ride it. Use fastpass!! That's about all I can think of for now. Have a magical vacation!:rotfl::yay:
