9 Days of Singin, Snorkelin,Soarin & Safari'in! APRIL/MAY @ AKL ! UPDATE 6/2

I didn't ride because I am too claustrophobic to sit in and enclosed tiny cylinder type contraction :scared1:.

Yep, sounds like an absolute death trap to me!

The Jungle Cruise ride sounds fun, though.

I have not seen the Mickey ice cream ears hat before.

I sense your excitement as you make your way to the Hoop De Doo meal. I hope it was everything you wanted it to be. :)

Yayy so happy to come on and see an update! :thumbsup2 Great to see pics of Disney Quest too - I rarely hear much about it but my brother and I want to go! How long did you spend there?
Just found your trip report, I will go back and start from the beginning, but had to say that we were in that room last year !! I went through my pics to find my room number pic, and sure enough same room. Love that location, I am all for the pool view, usually centrally located near food, lobby and bus. Going back to read report,:thumbsup2
WOW- what are the odds!!!!! I loved loved loved that location! It was perfectly located near everything- I think if I ever stayed there again I would request that same room!

I hope you are enjoying my little report so far and glad to have you along for the ride. I love new readers!!!

Oh, I did ride Everest once -- of course I kept my eyes closed for most of it, but I can say I have ridden it.

Once was enough for me!

Egg rolls and Mickey ice cream! Yum!

We did not deprive ourselves on this trip- that's for sure! popcorn::popcorn::popcorn::popcorn::

Oh my goodness, the Mickey ice cream ears are too cute, and Andrew looks great modeling them! :thumbsup2

aren't they though, and doesn't he though!!!:rotfl:

We are big Dinosaur fans at our house -- we love that ride!

For me it's a take or leave it kinda ride, Grumpy really likes it so we do it for him.

Never been to Disney Quest, but it does look like a lot of fun!

This was our first time too. It was good but I wouldn't pay the price to get in if it want included in the water parks and more upgrade. The jungle cruise ride was serious fun- we all laughed are hineys off on that one! Andrew kept falling, it was hysterical.

Hurray for catching a glimpse of the fireworks! :lovestruc Looking forward to hearing all about HDDR!

that was such a great bonus, so not even planned. And the best was that they pipe int he music and all so it felt you you were right there.

I did Everest once and I have no desire to do it again. I love you got to see Wishes from the beach such a nice little happy surprise. Can't wait to hear about your dinner.

[Yeah, I feel the same way- I think I have had all the everest I am ever gonna need ;). Wishes on the beach was the best- and that was also a first for me- I have only ever seen wishes in the MK. What a sweet treat!

I found your TR!! Hi Donna, I was following along with your PTR and got so thrown off after our trip that I totally lost yours!!! I am so happy to have gotten all caught up!! We were there April 24-May 1! LOVE LOVE all the pictures of AKL, what a beautiful resort!! We were at DHS the same day as you guys were! It was a great park day!! LOVE all the crazy pics in front of the hat!!! Andrew looks like he is having a blast!! I can't wait for more, I am having fun following along!!!!!:goodvibes:goodvibes

~Beth

Hey Beth! So glad you found me! I will be heading over to your report in just a few. I hope you are enjoying so far! and ooooh we need to check each others pics from DHS to see if we are in any of the backgrounds- how funny would that be!

AKL was gorgeous- I have to say, and I have more resort pics saved for later on in the report so please stick around :)

The jungle cruise was hysterical- if you ever get the free upgrade for the water parks and more feature it is worth heading in there just to check out that ride. Oh and you should definitely steer way clear of that roller coaster simulator thingy. I was claustrophobic just watching htem get in that contraption- or death trap as you so aptly named it :lmao:

Yayy so happy to come on and see an update! :thumbsup2 Great to see pics of Disney Quest too - I rarely hear much about it but my brother and I want to go! How long did you spend there?

I try- I promise I do try to get updates as much as possible. Andrew is still in school- finishing up 5th grade and has all of his end of grade testing next week. That along with Hockey and tutoring leaves me about 10 minutes a night to dis!!!

Disney quest was fun, depending on how much you are into video games and virtual reality type things. You can spend as little as an hour or could stay there for a whole day! There are 5 floors, and there is a counter service restaurant in there that sells those yummy butterfinger cupcakes!

OK---Those Mickey ears like the ice cream bar are too cute. I didn't see any of those during our trip( but did see plenty of those popcorn ones).

Can't wait to hear what you thought of HDDR. :thumbsup2 You know we did it for the first time last week during our trip, but I'll tell more about that during my TR.

Aren't those ears the stinkin cutest!!! Andrew wouldn't wear them so we didnt buy them- oh well.

Oh I so wish I had the stamina to update tonight- I am just wiped! We got back from Andrew's hockey game- a double header at 8:00pm and I think I am just going to crawl in bed and make it an early night. HDDR will have to wait til tomorrow night, and I can't wait to hear your thoughts too!!!

Great update! I love your AK pics! I love EE! I'm sorry it makes you sick! I've only ever gotten sick from (besides the Teacups...I HATE the Teacups!) one ride and it was a REALLY old roller coaster at 6 Flags... It bounced my head around so badly I was just totally wiped out after that.

Looking forward to more! :yay:

Love the hat pictures! Disney quest looks like a lot of fun; the safari ride looks lke something I would really enjoy...not sure about the build your own rollercoaster?!?
You guys sound like you had a great day at AK! I cannot wait to hear about the HDD! and what a wonderful treat to catch "Wishes" love it!
:wave2: Connie

I'm jumpin' in on your TR..if you don't mind:goodvibes
Great pictures and your right about AKL as being a great resort. Can't wait to see more pictures!

I'm all caught up again! I've never seen the inside of DQ - it looks like a lot of fun!! I'm certain when Henry gets older we'll be going there...he already likes video games even though he has no clue what he's doing.

Looking forward to the HDDR, I've wanted to book that for years as well, but haven't yet, it's sounds like so much fun and the food always looks awesome!

(PS. The neighborhood is doing well - we are LOVING it here!)
