Hello everybody!!
We are back safe and sound and had a wonderful time! And I am ready to start another TR!!
The picture/memory that inspired (part of) the title:
More on that later!

I'll just give a quick introduction for those of you who don't know me.
We are a family of 4 from PA, about 45 minutes outside of Pittsburgh. This was our 5th trip to Disney since 2005. None of us had ever been to Disney prior to that, and we all fell in love with it and haven't really vacationed anywhere else since!
I am a stay at home mom. I have 2 boys, 8 and 10. I am very involved at the kids' school, so if I'm not home I am usually there doing something! In my spare time I enjoy watching the kids soccer games, playing with my dog, watching Nascar (YAY ~ Jimmie Johnson
4 time series winner as of last night!!), DISing, and of course planning our next Disney trip!!
DH is an inspector for a large company just outside of Pittsburgh. He also enjoys Nascar, and loves coaching the kids' soccer teams. He is finally starting to admit just how much he loves our Disney trips! (He was in denial there for awhile!
)
DS10 is my very responsible little man. Growing up way too fast. Heck, he's even considered an adult by Disney now! He loves and is very good at soccer. He is an excellent student in school and I am so proud. He loves Star Wars! He loves to play outside and ride his 4-wheeler and really likes to play video games too. This kid is hilarious & not in the least bit shy and should probably be on TV!
DS8 is the baby of the family! And you sure can tell. He loves to let DS10 do everything for him! Imagine my surprise when at my parent/teacher conference last week his teacher told me that he was very independent.
What??? My kid, really?!
Yep, that's what I said!! DS8 also loves to play soccer & is very good at it and loves all things Star Wars. He could sit and play with his SW action figures for hours!
Some things to come:
First time at POR (6 nights w/free dining)
First time at OKW (2 nights room only ressie)
Crazy winds from tropical storm Ida
Castle Christmas Lights
Osborne Family Spectacle of Lights
Christmas trees and decorations at the parks
A half done Gingerbread House
LOTS of free food!
Will we finally ride the Haunted Mansion?
Will DS10 finally brave the TOT?
And just how does a split stay go???
Plus lots more and TONS of pictures!!

November 7th ~ The day had finally come!
We flew down on AirTran and back with Southwest. Here we are at the airport.
We didn't get the best flight time down, leaving Pittsburgh at 1:50pm. But the flight was pretty uneventful (unlike the flight home) and we landed in Orlando right around 4:00. We went to the ME counter, which apparently you don't need to do anymore. We were then directed to the ME lines, where they now look at your ME booklet and direct you to your line. We were directed to the POR line and we just made it onto a bus. The last 4 seats! We were then informed that the bus would be making 4 stops including 3 resorts in the "Epcot area" and 1 in the "DTD area". For those of you who use ME you probably know that they usually put you on a bus with other resorts in your same area. Why POR was on that bus is beyond me ??? I would have expected to be on a bus with POFQ, OKW, and/or SSR. But nope, we were with the YC, BC, and BWI. And we were the last stop. That was the longest ME bus ride we ever had!
YC~
BC~
BWI~
And FINALLY we arrived at Port Orleans Riverside!!
There was no one in the regular check in line, so I was taken care of right away! There were 2-3 families in the online check in line. I had made a request to be in the AB section in any of the following buildings - 14, 18, 26, or 27 and on the 2nd floor. I was informed we were in AB building 27 on the 2nd floor!!
The path on the way to our room (about a 5 minute walk from the main building):
Next up:
Our POR room, dinner at the POR food court, and a quick trip to Epcot!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
**EDITED to add that I am going to be doing my dining reviews right here!!
Restaurant reports to come:
POR food court (2x)
Pizzafari
Wolfgang Puck Express
ABC Commissary
Cosmic Ray's
Casey's Corner
OKW Goods To Go
Whispering Canyon Cafe
Big River Grille
Sci Fi Dine-In
Kona Cafe breakfast
LeCellier
Chef Mickey's breakfast
Olivia's
Plus a bunch of snack places!!
