Thursday October 28

We were done with the getting up with the chickens and heading out to the parks for opening. (Plus we knew we would be at MNSSHP for late night fun) So we chose to sleep in again today. We headed down for breakfast around 8:30. This time I decided to shake things up a bit and get something different for breakfast..and boy am I glad I did. I had the Cream cheese danish from the food court at POFQ. OMG it was THE best Danish I've EVER eaten. Pair it with a little skim milk (doesn't that cut the fat of the danish :p ) and I was in heaven. You gotta try it! DH stuck with the french toast and DS was all about fruit loops again.

We got to magic kingdom to find tons and tons of characters out in front of city hall . As we were standing in line (all of them a little long..but not unbearable) We noticed main street had been decorated with BOston Red Sox ballons. (They had won the world series the night before. ) We are Yankees fans...but you can't hate a team that sweeps the WS you know? We though that was pretty cool that they worked that into the decorations. We expected nothing more. As we were standing in line for Robin Hood's autograph and picture we heard the man behind us talking to a CM. He was asking if it was true that the Red Sox were going to be in MK that day. The CM replied that she wasn't sure about the WHOLE team..but that someone from the red sox was going to be the Grand Marshall of the 3pm parade. My husbands ears perked. He (who normally HATES parades) decided then and there that we would get a good view of the parade so we could see who it might be. (He's a HUGE baseball fan in general too) We heard no more talk about the Red Sox being there. Disney AMAZES me at how they keep things quite. You seem to only find out things if you ASK. They aren't going to just volunteer info.

We rode a few rides..mostly Buzz Lightyear (my DS all time fav ride ever now), the astro orbitor, goofy's barn stormer roller coaster (DS not fond of that one), Dumbo, Snow white (DS actually kind of liked it) , Pooh (Thought DS would LOVE it...but he could have cared less), Alladins magic carpets (DS LOVED it), Haunted mansion, dumbo and the carosel again. ..

We ate lunch at Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe at around 11am (our second fav place in MK to eat) DH and I both had chicken (VERY GOOD) and DS had chicken nuggets (He actually ate a couple this time) The fixin's bar is WONDERFUL mushrooms, sauteed onions, hot cheese...every thing you can dream of. Highly reccommended.

Ok..so back to the parade...we get to the right of the castle around 2:30 (strangely enough not very many people were there yet) to wait for the parade. At about 2:55 the announcer comes on and says MK is very honored to have a very special guest ..fresh from his Boston Red Sox teams World series victory last night.....Curt Shilling!!!! ( I know I probably didn't spell that right) My husband was SO EXCITED. He is a yankee fan..but he has always really like Curt Shilling. (I kind of knew who he was since I did watch the Yanks/sox games before we left) He was riding in a convertable down the parade route with Mickey. It was GREAT. We got some really really good pics. (DS slept through all this) If I figure out how to post pics here I will for you all to see. We didn't hang around for the parade..we walked down mainstreet to see if he was going to sign autographs. BIG MISTAKE being that we had a child in a stroller with us. He did sign a few autographs..but I almost got trampled trying to just make it down mainstreet..so I stayed behind. DH got more pics..but unable to get an autograph. It was like everyone went CRAZY all of a sudden. It was still pretty darn cool though.

AFter that we had to head to liberty square to get ready for our 4:30 PS at Liberty tree tavern.

Day#5 will continue with another entry about our LTT and MNSSHP adventure soon.......

there is no way, under any circumstances, that I could like the Red Sox just because they swept the series. I can appreciate the effort, I can say that they had a better team, I can even agree that after the 3rd game, the Yankees went home and forgot to come back.

But I will NEVER, IN A MILLION YEARS, THINK THEY ARE COOL.

Sorry, but I just hate the Sox.

Your trip sounds like it was terrific. Enjoying your reports. We're travelling with our 2 sons in just 29 days (our youngest was 2 in July) so it's interesting to see how your son handled the parks. Did you have a crib in the room for him?

Believe me..I totally understand. That's all I could think of when we were there. If only it would have been the Yankees. My husband Is a HUGE yankee fan and he HATES the Sox too..but he does like Curt.

No we didn't have a crib in the room. We got a king bed and our 2yr old just slept with us. He will not sleep in a crib anymore.

I hope you have a great trip
