9/7/13 Fantastical Eastern Caribbean Adventure

Palo is $20 per person. Definitely worth it. We did it in November & I still think about the chocolate dipped strawberry! LOL

Our waiter saw how i loved dessert and sent me out with a plate of chocolate covered strawberries! Yes Palo brunch is worth it. I like it better than the dinner. Welcome to the group

Can someone explain the FB FE and the DIS FE? Are they separate or just one? Also, what types of gifts are usually given? Door magnets? Trinkets? One for each person in the family or one gift for the whole family? Are they always Disney related or are some things like useful, surprise items? Also, I noticed multiple slots on most FE hangers...do we need one for each family member?

Hi everyone! I just booked this cruise today. It will be the first Disney cruise for everyone in my family and we are so excited! Going are myself (Robin-30), my daughter (Nadia-4), my brother (Chris- 25), my father (James- 58), and my grandma (Annette- 76). I can't wait to get to know everyone!

Welcome to all the new folks. FEs can be any thing. I have truly loved everything we received last time. Doesn't have to be Disney related some people give trinkets pertinent to where they live. Lots of fun

This is Junesgoofy's DH - I see she posted about 10 days ago that we are booked on this cruise! I've finally come up for air with work and looked for this thread today. This will be our third cruise on the Fantasy.

Looking forward to our first 7-night cruise without the kids. We did a 4-night without the kid's once. Very relaxing, so with an extra two sea days, it should be even better.

We have booked one of the oversized balconies on Deck 5. We spent so much time on our balcony on the 4-night. I'm sure we will take advantage of the quiet time on Sea Days and in the evenings.

Oh my gosh!! Christopher!! I didnt recognize your wife's log in. You probably dont remember me because we never did cruise together. But when I booked my very first cruise a double dip back in 09 I think you were on the board. I didnt know anything about the boards, DCL, posting pics, etc. You were so kind to me. I was the one who thought when you meant we should design a banner I designed a banner out of fabric with Capt. Mickey and a double dip cone! I ended up switching my cruise for the Panama one and I remember you switched to a different one too.

Anyway, we are definitely going on this one, air is booked and cruise is paid off. I did respond to your wife's post as we are celebrating our 23 anniversary too and going without kids. Our kids are all adults so that was easy. But it is a small world. Cant wait to meet you and your wife.

Don, thank you for updating the roll call list.

now that we are even closer to sail date, booked our stay before and after the cruise 2 days before at Old Key West and 4 days after the cruise at Kidani Villas, to be joined by our daughter and boyfriend who will be doing the Dream 9/12-15.... Come on Sept.

I couldn't find a thread for this sailing yet-- maybe I'm missing it... If not, let's get this party started! :) We just booked this cruise yesterday and it's our first Disney cruise-- we are super excited!

It's great that we finally get to sail together. I hope you enjoyed the Panama Canal cruise. We did one in 2008 and it was our trip of a lifetime! I'd love to do another one, but we can't take the kids out of school that long and would feel too guilty being gone that long. This 7-night cruise will be the longest we've been away from the kids.

Yes we did switch our cruise as well from the double dip in 2010. What a huge mistake!!! We switched to a kids-sail-free sailing in March and other than saving some money, we wish we had stayed with the Memorial Day cruise. The weather in March was cold and rainy (we wore jackets most days); CC water was freezing and it was very windy and the cruise itself seemed extremely crowded compared to other cruises. Plus, we invited some extended family to join us and some others who we did not invite, decided to invite themselves and insisted on joining our dining rotation. It was not a relaxing and fun cruise. Fortunately, every other cruise we've done has been excellent! We just wished we had stayed on the double dip and not invited anyone else. Enough about our cruise from heck.

After receiving your very creative and excellent banner; along with the FE supplies - we ended up mailing them to another DISer who cruised on the DoubleDip. I will admit that we did save the Goofy patch as that is my DW's favorite character. :rolleyes1

Welcome! This will be cruise #8 for us and our third Eastern on the Fantasy. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask. We're actually getting ready to book exursions for our June 2013 Eastern Fantasy cruise. :cool1:

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!!! We are so excited about this cruise. We got married on the Oasis in 2010 and had originally booked that ship again for July '13. We love disney so much (we are pass holders) that we decided maybe we should try a Disney cruise instead and cancelled and booked this:) I have a feeling we made the correct choice:) or DS will be a little over 2 when we sail.

Just want to say welcome to all the new people. Can't wait to cruise & meet everyone!

Welcome to our group.

Christopher, I had forgotten I sent you the banner. The woman you sent it to sent me a very nice note and I received an FE gift before I ever cruised. She sent me pics of her and the group with the banner and one of the FEs that she gave out. It was very thrilling for me never having cruised a Disney cruise at that point.

The Panama cruise was Wonderful, no pun intended. My only disappointment was the Captain tried several times to dock at CC but waves were over the dock so we ended up with an extra day in Aruba. The cruise was not nearly full, they say there were only 300 children. So kids clubs were opened up for adult events, lol. We had great table mates, servers, attendants etc.

Some of our excursions were set up by previous cruisers so they werent Disney but they were fabulous. The ziplining in PV and the rain forest in Costa Rica I loved. Snorkeling in Aruba was great too.

I guess we did have one more major disappointment. Of course since it was the Wonder's first time thru the canal there were limited edition port pins available.I waited in line for the first one for 1 hr, the 2nd 2hrs and it only got worse. On the evening of the last pin (had to have a full set) we got in line after leaving the Walt Disney theater show. We were number 5 in line. DH spent the entire night in line. I would have been with him, but had contracted a terrible chest virus on the day before. The line went around the theater, down the hall around the top level of the lobby balcony and down stairs. Many people slept in the line and many at the end of the line did not complete their set.

Because we missed CC DH promised me another cruise and this is it! Now I have a new granddaughter so I plan to book a dummy on board and transfer til we get 2016 dates.

Oh, and by the way I did create another banner for the Canal. It was Chip and Dale listing all the ports. Have a pic that the onboard photog took when we passed thru the canal. A great adventure, totally loved it. And I couldnt believe all the goodies DCL gave us. And I got a special litho just for being nice to a cast member! Plus a magic moments certificate from a different cast member for being nice. Heck, I was in heaven it wasnt hard being nice but it sure paid off.

Glad June liked her patch, I will have to make her another one. I've got some new Goofy designs. Are you first or second seating?

Thanks again for all the info you gave me. It made the cruise all that much better.

Thanks all!:) I am SOOO excited!

All I can say is read EVERYTHING!! It will totally prepare you and make your experience that much better. Join the FE group it was so much fun. Ours was a very large group (over 100 cabins) so we had gifts everyday and a bed full of loot. I dont believe we will be any where near that many, but it will be fun. Make decorations for your door, that was fun. Dont try to overdo it, but do as much as you can. And be prepared to book another one!
