My husband Tom, my four-year-old daughter Grace and I are going on this cruise. It will be our first DCL cruise. I am so excited I can hardly stand it! Grace looks through the brochure every night while I'm making dinner and finds a new photograph to get excited about every day.

Mary

P.S. I am a little unclear about how this board works, so I hope I am posting in the right place.

:welcome: to the party:

We went on our first Disney cruise last October and are now hooked! This will be our 3rd. The *Boatie* is our just turned 5dd's favorite place in the world! She already has it figured out who is taking her to the kid's club and who is picking her up. :teeth:

All of you got me hooked on doing lots of things. I now am the happy owner of a fish extender that I made. When you go past it, do not look at the sewing. I am just learning how to sew. I got DH lloking for magnet paper . :thumbsup2 We are just so excited that I am wishing summer to go by fast. :cloud9: I never have done that before because e have terrible winters in Illinois.

Great idea, :thumbsup2 so how did you make it? I would love one but don't even know where to start looking. :confused3 I am not an excellent seamstress but I can sew. Any hints?

Someone mentioned that their Walmart still carries Magnet paper but mine don't. I have tried several around. Office Max and Office Depot are costly. BUT....I will buy it if I have to. Oh wait, Mardels. Is that the religious store? If it is, I didn't even think about them carrying magnetic paper! I tried Sam's Club and Costco yesterday. It was so much easier for me when Target and Walmart sold it.

If someone can tell me step by step how to attach a picture, :confused3 I can show you what it looks like. It wasn't to hard to make once DH and I figured out how. :scratchin

I acn identify with that. I sew my own OR caps and they look OK if you don't look too close. People ask me why I don't make them to sell, if they only looked closer they would understand. I sewed a rather unique fish extender. Sometimes I get a crazy idea and try to create something different. So when you go past, don't look too close at my creation either please. Alex

The only reason I had mine removed was because the pressure caused one of my molars to break -- 2 days before our Oct '05 land/sea trip! I was fortunate that it didn't hurt but, the tooth was rather... sharp! LOL!

I had mine removed because they were impacted (so Helen informs me!).

Alex, my DH likes to come up with "sewing projects" as well. His mom was practically a tailor. If I can see a pic of a fish extender then perhaps we can make one as well. Didn't someone post a picture of one earlier?

Two months until we cruise! Thank goodness! College recruiting for tennis officially started on July 1 and our phone has been ringing almost nonstop. It is very exciting and flattering, but nerve racking and scary, as well! ;) We just want our DD to be happy...such a tough decision ahead for her. :bitelip: But very nice to have choices! Keep your fingers crossed that her decision is made before the trip...so that we can all just sit back and enjoy! :yay:

And, I missed this somewhere along the way...may I ask what is a "fish extender"? Six DCL trips and I don't have a clue! :confused3

Have a good one!

Yep! I happened to go down their small *office supply* aisle looking at the scrapbook stuff and there it was! LOL! It was $10 for 5 sheets. I think Office Depot was $15 for 5 sheets -- or something like that!

I didn't think to ask at the copy area of Office Depot if they could print it on Magnetic paper and how much it would be..... Or Kinkos..... hhhmmm.....

I looked at Walmart first and I was surprised they didn't have any!

Cheryl, I just saw a picture of a fish extender but it had 5 pockets. Do we really need 5 pockets? If I just made one pocket, that should be good, right?

Outside of the staterooms there are metal fish that have your stateroom on it. It holds messages from DCL sometimes. Anyway, you hang a cloth (or whatever) pocket from it and other DISers fill it up with goodies.

Page 83 has a picture.

Congrats to your dd!

Hi all... I see that some cruisers still dont' know what a fish extender looks like... so I'm reposting the picture.

And it does not have to have so many pockets... but the PRE-made ones usually have 5 pockets... you could custom make your own with just 2 or 3 or however many pockets you want.

Also, remember that they occasionally tend to "swim away" so I am bringing "clubs" to keep them in place. I'll bring enough to share with everyone that wants one... but you will need something like nail clippers to remove the "club" at the end of the cruise.
