Queen, glad everything went ok for you.

We have always dressed up for Pirates. When they first started Pirate night I think my DH was the ONLY one to do it. He got lots of stares but Capt Hook loved him. It seems that now everyone is dressing up. We dress with white blouses/shirts, red sashes. hats, hooks, black skirts. We took a picture on the PC of DH and 4 pirate wenches all dressed pretty much alike. It was the coolest picture with the white background!

My computer is going in to get worked on so you all behave and see you soon. I might just sneak on with the OLD antique computer that we have downstairs. It should be gone for 5-7 days. What will I do for that long?

Oh, No! We'll try not to talk too much. :rotfl2:

Sandy, start dusting off the old computer... my DD Brandy (EnchantedPlayroom) had her computer upgraded/worked on :badpc: and has not been able to find any of her stuff... accounts, music, messenger, etc. for over a week! She is about to lose her mind...:lmao:

I was thinking the same thing!!!!

I may be able to get DH & DS to do this! LOL!
8DS has a Pirate hat with braids that he bought at MGM that he wore last trip.....

Stephanie... our guys were leary about dressing up too... they kept saying "are you SURE other people are gonna dress up?"...:rotfl: "yeah, yeah, everybody dresses up"... (we kept assuring them...) We made sure their outfits were simple and comfortable... just jeans, t-shirts and hats. We threw in a few accessories, like guns, hooks, swords, ear-rings, necklaces, glow-sticks, moustaches and tattoos. They had SO much fun... they talked piratey all night long and kept hooking and slicing each other with their swords and daggers. My SIL was the only one with a wig and the others ended up being jealous of it. :lmao:
This trip they ALL want wigs and outfits to look like Captain Jack Sparrow of Pirates of the Caribbean... it shoud be hillarious. Tell your DH to join in on the fun.

Too cool!!! :teeth: Believe me 15dd & I were both SHOCKED when he put on the bandana! LOL!

I will work on him! :lmao:

My DS14 and my DH are still not convinced to dress as pirates even after our last cruise when a ton of people dressed up. Me and my DD8 and DD9 all will wear our costumes. My mother in law even got in the spirit last cruise and I am sure she will this time as well.

GREAT.. the more the merrier... we need TONS of pirates for our pirate: Pirate picture.

We went to see Pirates of the Caribbean, Dead Man's Chest today.
We thoroughly enjoyed it although it is a cliff hanger.
Any way it really put me in the mood to dress up for Pirate Night.
Don't know if I can convince DH or DD to join me, but maybe. :confused3

I will be joining the group at Tritions at noon on the first sea day, too! :woohoo:

I looked at Target today for Fish extenders but couldn't find any. I will check Michael's tomorrow. A woman's work is never done ;)

We went to see Pirates of the Caribbean pirate: last night (Friday), it was great. At our AMC in So. Barrington, IL is a 30 screen theater and Pirates was playing on 7 of those 30. Everyone was sold out. It really made us want to come home get the costumes out and start packing.

I tried to post a picture :artist: but the board won't let me.

Still being a newbie, how many posts do we need to have before we can post a picture?

Welcome to the Two *Poohs* :goodvibes

Do you want to tell us a little about yourselves? :teeth: We seem to be pretty harmless!

This will be the first vacation we (me Mary and DH Tom) have taken with our 4 yo DD Grace. Up until now all of our trips have been to visit family in Michigan. Missouri and Texas.

This will also be our first cruise and our first trip to the Caribbean (unless you count Key West, which we loved).

Everytime I think I can't possibly get more excited, I read this board and get more excited. We love pirate parties. We are definitely going to dress like Pirates!

I can't wait for Pirate Night:Pinkbounc , but do we have a Tropical Night too? I thought Pirate replaced Tropical?

Hiedi, send me a PM with Anthony's email address. I'll ask my DS Carlin (13, nearly 14) to work on him too;) . Carlin is looking forward to wearing his cool pirate t-shirt and wig.

The mega-shopping trip went well today. Both boys now have suits, vests, shirts, shoes, etc. for Formal Nights.

My oldest DS is seeing Pirates of the Caribbean tonight. If he EVER gets home tonight, I'll ask him if he enjoyed it.

My DW Helen has been looking after the shopping for us as well - both me and DS(14) alex have our Dinner Suits (Tuxedos) and her and our DD6 Bethan have their dresses sorted out for formal nights. At the moment me and Alex are looking out for appropriate bow-ties ;)

Bethan has a pirate t-shirt but Helen is still looking for something for the rest of us (something I might actually wear to be precise).

As we are the USA for four weeks there is so much packing to be done. I think the only one sorted completey is Bethan! I'll just wear any old thing.

As I write this Helen has just decided she wants to buy a new travel hair-dryer (you've got some strange voltage over there!). Who said Sunday was a day of rest, looks like we're going back out again for more shopping.

I can't wait to go to work tomorrow to get a rest.

Y'all are going to have so much FUN!!! And you are right... reading this board just gets you more excited! LOL!

I'm in TX (DFW area) and my family is from Missouri! LOL! When I was growing up the only vacations we had were driving to MO from where ever my dad was stationed (he's retired Navy). :teeth:

This is our 3rd cruise and we've only done DCL -- why mess with success? :lmao:

Our youngest just turned 5 last weekend and she absolutely LOVED every minute of the cruise! We have a pic from one of the dinners where she is making an angry face -- it is because we wouldn't let her go back to the club until after I finished my main course! LOL!

Yes, DCL listed a Tropical & a Pirate night for this cruise.

And if a girl would help to convince him to wear a Pirate outfit I can have 15dd talk to him (when she gets back from camp in a week). ;)

I'm so glad the shopping went well!!! I tried to shop for myself today and failed..... I did find some things at Barnes & Noble... but, I find that books don't wear well. :rotfl: It seemed everything was either for younger women (20's) or older women -- what happened to 40 something women that want to look *cute* but, not like they are trying to relive their youth???

Dh & Ds's want to wear Tuxedos for Formal... So, I have to figure that out and buy myself something suitable! We don't normally go places that dressed up -- 23dd has lots of formals but, neither 15dd or myself could fit into her clothes! LOL!

I'm really hoping that dh will wear one of the Pirate costumes I've been looking at......

Four weeks is a long time! When we do our big trips -- usually 3wks or so-- I wash clothes every 5 days or so.

I am not going to use the ships laundry room but, I may send some of our clothes to be cleaned before the end of the trip.

I'm also counting on there being some cute clothes to buy. :) I very rarely shop IRL but, on trips I am a shopping machine! LOL!

We are in OKW before and after the cruise and Helen intends using the in-room facilities for our laundry.

David

I always intend to send laundry out but then end up doing several loads on the ship :laundy:
Again this time I have firm intentions of not doing anything remotely like housework and sending any laundry out to be done on the ship. We'll see how it goes. :teeth:

My DH usually rents a Tux so we don't have to pack one but he saw one for sale at JC Penney's for $99.00 and is thinking of buying one.

DD and I both have formal outfits we got on sale at Dillard's annual clearance.

On a totally different subject, does anyone know if we have to go through the 6 a.m. customs routine at St. Thomas for this cruise. It is the first port we hit and we will have left an American port before arriving there. If so, DD plans on going in her PJ's and robe :lmao:

I'm hoping to get a good price on a Tux instead of renting for them.
And I believe we will not have to do the 6am customs thing --- Dh would be very UNhappy if we did! LOL! He doesn't do sunrise :rotfl2: unless he still happens to be up from the night before. :teeth:
