Quite hot, quick afternoon storms.
Crowds tolearable. We found Wed. at MK to be very low crowd (we were there the 28th and 5th, both were a breeze, especially in the am). Crowds did pick up after Oct. 1 but, still not too bad (outside Sat. at EPCOT).
We were on the dining plan and everything was great. Except at Chef de France, no childs app. is offered and they won't replace it with adult. Sci-Fi offers child apps and we had no trouble getting adult apps for kids at any other restaurants. The food in France was the worst of the entire trip, will not be back. The cremeburle(sp?) was terrible (was AWESOME at LeCellier though!!) and the other items were very plain or greasy. What a bust. We had TERRIFFIC meals at LeCellier, Nine Dragons, Momma Melrose, Mexico, 1900 Parkfare, Sci-Fi and Food and Wine. Dinner at Chef Mickey's hit the mediocere mark, I'd take it over Chef de France and day though! Good counter service in Mexico and England, mediocere counter service at Cosmic Rays and Sports resorts. We used most of our counter service credits up on bottled water as we are sit down restaurant people.
It was my 7 year olds birthday and he was treated very nicely at the restaurants and by the CM's at the parks. Nothing over the top but, it really helped him come out of his reluctance to address stranger adults.
4 year old son finally mastered swimming at the resort pool so that was great.
Stayed at All-Star Sports. Not sports fans but Sports is the first stop in the string of value resorts. This makes a big difference sometimes. As always, value resorts were clean and basic...a good value. We will be trying a moderate near EPCOT next time (we spend most of our time at EPCOT, it is the best).
Loved Soarin, very cool ride. Use a Fastpass for it deffinitely. The land pavillion is mobbed now a days. We did the Behind the Seeds tour (the sign up desk is right next to Soarin). I HIGHLY reccomend this tour. It was very interesting and inspiring. The guide even gave us Cinderella pumpkin seeds. I can not express enough how cool this was and very affordable. I think it was $12 per adult, can't remember the kids fee something like $10.
In MK Cinderellas castle looks SO beautiful right now. It is decorated for the celebration and it is wonderful. The spires are covered in gold and all these characters are kind of woven in all over it. We purchsed a pic from the pro's taking them on the way in so, we can have it immortalized in our home.
Kids were disapointed as the fountain the kids can play in (at EPCOT in front of MS) was broken all week.
We did MNSSHP on Sept. 30. We did not get our moneys worth IMHO. That said the fireworks and parade were great and the lines for rides were short. The problem was that we walked in and got on Pirates of the Carabean and the ride broke. We were there for over an hour and when we got off CMs gave us a certifate equal to a fastpass which was worhtless because lines were not long. After that we rode HH, then the fireworks were on, then the 10 pm parade. After that my kids were pooped and wanted to leave. So we paid over $120 extra to ride 2 rides we had already been on on several occasions. I really loved the parade though.
Well, thats about it for the short version. We had a great time. Feel free to ask any questions.
