9/27/14, Returning to the Southern Caribbean

I just wanted to check in with the Disboards here. I will be taking over the organization of the FE's! So far on the list is 16 cabins. I know there will be more cabins joining. The plan is to keep it to no more than 15 cabins in a group. If you haven't joined in for this fun yet, let me know!

EMBARKATION DAY: Boarding the ship, then leaving for more sightseeing ...

I spoke with my Disney Travel Agent regarding the ability to board the ship in Old San Juan ... then hopping off to experience more of Old San Juan, before the ship pulls out of port later that evening. I was told, "if you check in and go onboard, you will not be able to go back out to see the city. If you drop your luggage off with a porter but don’t check in, you would be able to go out on the city."

Can't say I'm not surprised. Makes me rethink about what we are going to do. May just go ahead and board and hopefully enjoy a quieter ship for a few hours.

I am so excited that we will be going on this cruise. It started with just our family but now we are up to 4 famalies in our group. I'm actually Puerto Rican and haven't been to the island in 5 years. My mom & step dad still live there but we usually bring them out to us. Now we will be spending some time with our family and actually bringing our mom on the cruise with us.

From what I understand, DCL has reversed their decision on this matter. TYPICAL Disney!

DW and I are the type who like to board the ship ASAP, get to lunch (biggest shrimp), walk the empty ship, see old friends, then relax til out room is ready!
