9/27/14, Returning to the Southern Caribbean

Good morning everyone,

Suppose to be stormy today in Florida. I wont complain as ong as it doesnt rain on thursday for the Adventures away party on the Dream. I dont like it when they move it inside due to bad weather. Plus I like ot stand on deck 12 and wave with my Mickey hand. Even if it rains I will be there facing the web cam waving at all of you!!!



Ok here is another question to help us get aquainted.


Do you have any pets? Dogs, cats, chickens, rabbits, mice, rats, hamsters, fish any pet will do. Plus if you have a pet do they have any odd habits or a story about something they did?






We have 2 rescue dogs.
Minnie who is named after Miss Minnie Mouse since she is black and white . She is boxer / Boston Terrier mix.
Her odd habit is:
She thinks she is a person. When she sits her hind legs go straight out and when she sits on furniture she will shove herself back in the corner and sit up like a person until she her back gets too tired. I have aphoto of this, if I find it later I will post it.

Pixie is part Greyhound and part Golden lab. She is 102 pounds and afraid of every little noise.

We would love to have a dog but it just doesn't work with the hours we both work. Have a great day everyone!

We are the same way...dogs don't fit life in the beltway....we leave for work before 5 AM and get home at 5 PM, in bed by 9, not much fun and enjoyment for a dog. Since the cats sleep all day...works out great!

Nice to know others have rescue animals too. See we have something in common even though I have dogs and you have cats.

Were staying in March at Art of Animation and I am so excited because I am a huge Little Mermaid fan!! We will be celebrating our 14th anniversary

We also can't way until May. Family and friends will be visiting so that means a lot of trips to Disney World which works for me

Then in June of we sail in the big blue once again.

I am finally ready to go! I spent about 3 hours looking for a dress for Palos. I finally found a tropical themed skirt and top that will work just fine.

It seems the humidity here in Florida must of shrunk some of my clothes while they were in the closet.
It can't be I have gained wieght

We have two rescue dogs Min-Pins Miss Lady and Mr. Pounce brother and sister.I got them 6 years ago after our DD moved out taking her two Min-Pins.She and DH had been living with us during her pregnancy and after our grandson was born they moved to their own house leaving our house kind of empty.I found these dogs at a rescue center on line about a month later and they have been a treasure although they seem to run the house.

Okay, slightly off topic ... but it's STILL Disney Cruise related ...

Some of you may know, DW and I are sailing the Magic on the EB TransAtlantic in May (2013). Earlier today, we officially prepaid a shipboard credit to ourselves in an amount equal to the cost of the suggested gratuities for 14 nights ($344 for 2 adults). Technically, we transferred $344 in Disney Visa Rewards to DCL (which gets posted on our shipboard account). We did not choose to pre-pay the gratuities to DCL ... as we prefer the option to adjust gratuities (up or down, as needed), so technically, we will have a $344 shipboard credit the moment we embark.

We plan to rest as much as possible on Castaway Cay ... in preparation for 13 more nights on the Magic. So, at this point, the only expenses we anticipate will be Palo Brunch and Dinner, Bingo, and a Couples Retreat at Vista Spa.

Laura and I just got home from Manhattan, NY.

We were suppose to fly home on Monday but home got hit with a blizzard. At least for us it was a blizzard, a foot of snow, four foot drifts, strong winds (and around here when they say strong winds believe it), Interstate closed, airport closed, etc., etc., and so fourth.

Monday morning, as we were getting ready to check out of the hotel when Laura received a call asking her to call AA. We thought this was odd because of how much she flies, Laura is AAdvantage Platinum, last year she was executive platinum the slacker. Usually AA calls and tells her that she is already rebooked, but this time they said call. It turns out that all flights were full until Wednesday. We book two more days at the hotel and have fun.

Spent several days at the MET, got to see the play Ann that is in pre production, the Disney Store, and so much more.

We get home, look around and there is almost no snow, only a little in the gutter. Turns out that after the blizzard on Monday, it was in the 50s yesterday and today.

We have a 1 year old Australian Sheppard. We had a golden (Rusty) and a foster dog (Gary). Rusty was great with Gary and we eventually found Gary a home. Shortley after finding Gary a home, Rusty died. That's when Katie fell in love with a red tri colored Australian Sheppard. Now she's at school in OK and we have a 1 year old hyper dog.

1. Favorite character? Hands down it is Winnie the Pooh.

2. Looking forward too...being on the Magic, this will be my third Disney ship and first time on this ship.

3. Pets...one 90lb dog named Koda. We had 2 cats but they didn't get along with the dog. They (Cheshire and Figaro) have a new fun cat loving home.

My DD's favorite characters are all the Mickey Mouse clubhouse characters ! I love Goofy myself. We are sailing on the Magic on 5/10/13 out of Galveston for DD's 3rd b-day & just can't wait.

We have 2 yorkshire terriers, that together maybe weigh 12lbs! DD loves them both dearly, and treats them more like siblings than pets. It is adorable to watch.

We watched the Magic sail away from Galveston last night. DD was so excited to spot Goofy on the back of the ship. 2 months until we will be on the Magic sailing from Galveston! DD said wait, come back, you forgot me!

Very exciting! We love the Magic & we love Disney!
