9/27/14, Returning to the Southern Caribbean

Gosh I love Everything Disney it's tough to choose! Minnie for her polka dots and Mickey, well cause he's Mickey :)

I loved Mary Poppins until recently when I met her in the park. Kids were so excited to meet her and in typical Poppins style she was correcting them on their manners only I felt like she was the one being rude to the poor kids!

Good morning everyone.

I didnt see a new question from anyone here yet this morning so i will post another one.
Hopefully tomorrow someone else will have a question here.

What are you looking forward to the most on this cruise?

All new ports for us. I love going new places.

New ports, yes, though we were on the first DCL cruise into San Juan, the others are indeed new.
But most of all, I'm looking forward to relaxing. I love lying by the pool with a book (or two or three) and most of the time that's where you will find me! :goodvibes

Roll Call Updated as of Feb 20 ... posted on page 1 (also uploaded on FB page as an XLS document) ... will be updated periodically

Looks great Steven! Thanks :)

I'm looking forward to sunny destinations and vacation included daycare! (some adult time)

Pretty quiet around here today.

Steven are you going to post a question of the day on FB today??

I am off to make a banana chocolate chip spice cake but I will be back when I am done to see if anyone has posted. :thumbsup2

I've been busily scrapbooking. I finished two pages for my Granddaughter's baptism. too bad that took place in March of 2007 :lmao:
I'll get right on that!

I am listening to the painters in my master bath (we just had it remodeled...and wondering why painters need to vacuum?:confused3

Sometimes they need to sand off rough surfaces which is like a fine dust on the floor, They need toclean it up.

I have 4 crusies yet to do my scrapbook for. I have stuff in bags all ready to go but havnt got to it yet.'I like to do it in the summer here when its too hot to go out and do stuff.

Well, they didn't need to, the walls had been prepped and primed by the general contractor, they were beautifully prepared. Then he dropped the vacuum at the bottom of my staircase sending a cloud of dust everywhere.

WE won't talk about what I don't have done...most everything! It just seems like I have so many things to do...

That sounds flattering to me! I mean, it sounds like she was playing the role well! We saw MP on Broadway ... she's too the point! Sometimes, the truth hurts! If the actor/actress falls out of character, I'd think it would be disappointing.

I do not always post a new question every day ... and I think I posted my FB Question about the same time you mentioned it on DIS. I try to think of something unique ... and wait for the responses to fall off ... so I will be posting another one soon.

It looks like we had 19 DISers .. with two falling off. 16 of the 17 are on Facebook (if I did my math correctly). On the other hand, the 10/11/14 SC cruise has 62 members on FB (as of yesterday). This could be good, or bad for us ...

1) The 9/20 cruise is the first SC cruise of 2014 ... likely was surcharged. They may get access to a few pins, but we will have first access to them if they do not sell out.

2) The 10/11 cruise is the last SC of 2014 (if I remember correctly). I am guessing people opted for the latter sailing, to shy away from any possible weather issues. My concern was, what if DCL found they were not happy with a port ... would they divert to a sea day, or change the itinerary? That was the case a few years ago ... DCL offered alternating cruises with ports of call to Tortola (alternating to St. Croix). We booked two of those cruises. In the beginning of the season (around May), we sailed DCL to Tortola. We also booked a DCL to St. Croix in the fall. As my luck would have it ... DCL did not like the customer service (or, lack thereof) in St. Croix, and swapped out Tortola for St. Croix. I was not happy about sailing the exact itinerary twice within a few months. I want to go to these islands ... hope we get to see every one of them.

3) I expect the 9/20 and 10/11 cruises to book faster than the 9/27 and 10/4 cruises (common sense). That means, those cruises will have a higher capacity. For those of us on the 9/27 and 10/4 cruises, we might have to expect LESS ...
LESS waiting at Topsiders ...
LESS waiting for Palo ...
LESS waiting for a space in one of the Hot Tubs ...
LESS waiting for photo-op's with characters and DCL staff ...
LESS waiting for room service ...

On the other hand, we should not be too greedy ... as we will be subjected to MORE ...
MORE Lobster Tail for us to go around ...
MORE Mickey Ice Cream Bars ...
MORE open seats in the Walt Disney Theatre ...
MORE lounge chairs in Quiet Cove ...
MORE free drinks at the Captain's Gala ...
MORE time for servers to attend to us in the restaurants ...
MORE hammocks and umbrellas at Castaway Cay ...
MORE more room in the shoppes and public rooms on the ship ...

:dance3:

Please take a moment to look at the first two posts on page 1 of this thread for some helpful information about our cruise.

I see you are fairly new to DISboards ... have you sailed DCL previously? Tell us why you are sailing Disney ... and why you selected THIS specific cruise.
