Congratulations on the upgrade!!

No upgrades for us. We're in a category 4 - apparently not very likely to go up to a 3 without paying quite a bit.

Our daughter is asleep, and soon I will be heading to bed. We hope to get on the road by 6:45 a.m. to get to port before 10 a.m. for our first cruise. We can't wait to meet everyone there on Sunday!

I am exhausted from looking for and printing graphics for our door. The work it takes to make the magic, lol. I printed a green one to put on my door & I'll put my user name on it.

iphones, do I need to call our carrier? I only think I want it for texting if dh & I are apart.

or are walkie talkies better? I have heard that the frequencies get jammed w/ so many using them.

What hotel do you guys like for Canaveral? We will be leaving a car at the hotel, if that's a better deal.

We arrive on Saturday in Canaveral & will be driving right home on Thursday.

I'm sure I have more questions, thankfully I have a good friend who has done the cruise before & has been a huge help.

We are trying on pirate costumes tomorrow to see what we might be lacking. I'm sure a run to party city is in our plans, ha ha.

I would definitely check with your carrier. My understanding if you get international water roaming charges if you have your phone on, even doing texting. Definitely check. You don't want to come home and get a huge bill. We didn't even turn ours on last time. Seems we didn't need to. Also, check the FAQs. I think cell phone information may be covered there although I'm not sure.

You could try walkie talkies but signal might be good everywhere on the boat. Other DISers have done this too and its worked for them. I've heard lots of people just leave notes on their room door for each other. Its a pain to have to go to your room but works. You may just want to post a new thread to the DCL forum.

What hotel do you guys like for Canaveral? We will be leaving a car at the hotel, if that's a better deal.
Check hotels that offer deals for lodging and parking for free. Radisson is popular, so is the Marriott. We are staying at the Country Inn & Suites.

We are DVC owners and love it! We got this cruise for adding on points to our original contract. We have not even stayed at our home resort yet..Animal Kingdom Villas..we are heading there for a few nights after the cruise. We have stayed at Saratoga Springs and liked it..we love having the kitchen and bedrooms..when we travel we really like our space. There are all kinds of sites with info out there about whether it is "worth it" or not and you can argue both points of view....it all depends on your family and how you like to vacation. It works really well for us and many others..but I am sure it is not right for some families. If you have any specific questions feel free to PM me. TAKE the tour!

I agree, the properties are great for long stays & having some extra room. We don't know from one year to the next where our big trip will be so we just rent when we want to do WDW. It works for us.

Hey there. We looked at this back in May and I was really tempted to do it. But after looking at the numbers and checking the DISBoards for DVC, we decided against it. It wasn't right for us because as much as we long Disney, we also love variety and didn't want to be tied down to doing just Disney. With all the great deals that travel has to offer we wanted to have the flexibility. Also, because my sister just became a travel agent, she could get us wonderful rates for vacations.

If you do sign up thought, we would love to hear your thoughts. For me, its always a possible option

What a wonderful cruise - one of our best cruises ever. Service was incredible, weather was beautiful and the fish extender exchange really made it all the more special.

The gifts were just beautiful (along with thoughtful, useful, yummy and fun.) Thank you to everyone who participated, and to LC30 for organizing it. It was a first for us, and we loved returning to our room to see what new treat we had waiting for us.

Linda, I know, our daughter didn't want to head off either. I couldn't promise a trip soon, until the economy picks up some, but I can't imagine we won't return one day. It's just too much fun. Hopefully, we'll head to WDW in the near future with our Visa Rewards Card points. She hasn't been in a while, and I know she'll love it.

We really enjoyed the B2B. While there are some disadvantages, the DCL folks were really great to us. I've posted a separate thread explaining the B2B experience for us (as well as comparing 3, 4 and 7 night cruises.)

Hi Linda and Kelli. It was very nice to meet you all and your families. My family had a blast, and would love to take a future cruise in the near future. Thanks to you and everybody on the FE crew for the wonderful gifts. I hope no one got upset about us putting the cigars in with the FE gifts, but we wanted to share something made in the DR with everyone and thought handrolled Dominican Cigars would be ok. Did not look at the re book on board offer and now we are regretting it. So much stuff to do and time goes by so quickly, we kind of forgot. What was the offer anyway? We would like to do Alaska 2011. Anyway real happy everyone is back home safe. Here is a Picture of the FE families.

Hi there neighbor! Thanks for posting the pic. That seems like just yesterday. Time did fly, huh? I'm glad you all enjoyed your cruise.

No problem on our part on the cigars. I thought it was a great idea to represent the Domincan Republic. I loved all of the gifts we received. Everyone was so thoughtful and creative. Very cool.

The back story on the cookies we gave out to the adults - Those are from Hawaii, which is where my husband is from. The dipped shortbread cookies are from a place called Big Island Candies. We gave those out as favors at our wedding almost 7 years ago, and some of my family fell in love with them. We don't order them from Hawaii too often, but we hope you all enjoyed them. (Of course, with all of the food onboard, we've hardly dipped into all of the candy we received. The FE candies will last us for quite a while. Yum!)

We didn't look at the rebook while we were on there either. Hopefully someone could tell us what we missed. I thought I saw notes about 20 percent off a med cruise, plus onboard credit, but I'm not sure if that was it.

Hi there. My DH was thrilled to get cigars and the cookies were oh so yummy! I love those chocolate shortbread cookies from Hawaii, so tasty. I finally downloaded pics, so here are our group pics that I have.

We rebooked while onboard...same deal as before. 10% off and $200 OBC for 7 nights or longer, since I'm only a Silver Castaway Club member. I think gold members get $275 OBC.

It's a beautiful, sunny day here in Florida. While our little one naps, Bryan and I are sitting here listening to the great CD we got in our fish extender. Love it! We're wishing we were back on the Wonder, and the songs are brining back great memories. I can't remember who gave us the CD, but we love it. Thank you!

Hello everyone!!!! We're back home and life is going back to normal after our dream vacation. The kids are off to school today, happy and anxious to share their memories.

We were supposed to be home Thursday night but missed our flight by 2 minutes ( We were supposed to check in the luggage 45 min b4 the flight but we were in line waiting for our turn and when it got to be our turn it was 43 min b4 the flight and they wouldn't let us go) We ended up sleeping in Orlando and got home Friday night.
It's been cold and raining here for the whole time we were gone and still cold and raining. Oh how I miss our cruise!!!

We had such a wonderful cruise!!! I'm so glad DH enjoyed it as well and we'll hopefully catch the transatlantic 7 day cruise back home when we visit Europe in 2011. Next year is our 10 year anniversary and we've been planning a trip to Hawaii for a long time. We thought about flying over there and than maybe doing a short cruise??? Anybody has any suggestions?
Talking about Hawaii I LOVED the cookie/Candie!!!! What a treat!!!
We loved ALL our FE gifts and it was so special for the kids to come to the stateroom and look for the goodies
