9/19/09 Western Magic

Can anyone tell me what excursions that they are thinking of doing?
WIth details?? haha i want to start planning, and have NO IDEA what we want to do.

It my hubby, myself, and our 4 year old daughter going.

I would like to possibly do a touching kinda thing where ya touch sea animals perhaps, or a dolphin meet n greet. I am not into snorkeling, or scuba diving, so that wouldnt interest me.

When we went on the wonder in november 08, i wasnt impressed at Nassau, i didnt like when ya got outside and there were so many vendors that were practically YELLING at you to take their cruise or braid my daughters hair, or take a tour.. it was almost scary to me. I would like to do some excursions and have plans so i am not being yelled at and have no idea what to do.. ya know?

I am soo excited and cant wait to go in Sept!!

I have no idea what we will do either Andrea. My girls will be 4 and 7. I was thinking of the kids dolphin thing in Cozumel. But other than that I'm not sure where to start. Time is moving so quickly. DH and I have been saying for the past 4 weeks that we will sit down and go through all the excursions together, but we just haven't had the chance at the same time.

We visited a Turtle Farm in Grand Cayman - sooooo much fun! My kids LOVED it - stood there picking up turtles for over 3 1/2 hours total! We also walked around the rest of the park (you can pay for just the turtles or full park access). In Cozumel, we found a gorgeous Park - Chankanaab Park. It had Mayan Ruin replicas, Dolphin encounters, a gorgeous beach, very cool pool, lagoon for swimming, snorkeling and more. We took a cab there from the port and it was only $15 for 6 of us! We spent the whole day there and loved it.

I will post some photos from both. There are also discount coupons that I found for both places so I will see if I saved that as well.

Hope that helps :-)

We did a dolphin encounter in Chankanaab in October, my girls were 5 and 8, it was wonderful, and the best thing is 5 and under are free!:thumbsup2 It was a group of about 12 people, and there was a dolphin trainer and an assistant to help hold the younger children. We each got to shake hands, kiss the dolphin and the dolphin kissed us and they got pictures of all 3 activities. They also make a DVD too, I am a sucker and got it all. LOL Here are some of the pictures.

Hello Everyone! I'm back from a wonderful 7 day Magic cruise - western. Now I can plan for our September cruise. I haven't posted in a long time. Looking forward to meeting all of you. I do have the western Magic Navigators if anyone wants to look at them. Just send me your email address. The weather was so-so. Temp Friday morning at CC was 66 degrees and warmed up to 75 degrees. The water was cold! With us sailing in September, we'll have warm weather and warm water.

At Key West, we did the trolley car tour. I booked it online and got an approximate $4-$5 reduction in price. It's a 1.5 narrated tour that takes you around Key West. You can get off and on the trolley, but interestingly not many people did that. Once we got off the trolley at the end of our tour, we walked around Duval Street for a while. If any of you want to go to Kino's Sandals, plan to be there BEFORE 3pm. We arrived there at 3:15 pm and it was closed.

We did an island tour on Grand Cayman (booked through DCL on the ship), which included the turtle farm. For us two adults, spending an hour there was enough for us. There is a swimming area where you can swim with the turtles which looked like fun.

At Cazumel, we went to an all incluisive resort - Nachi Cocum. The cab fare is $15 one way for up to 4 passengers. Although it was rainy, cold and cloudy when we arrived at Cozumel, we decided to get off the ship around 10 am. We took a taxi to Nachi, sat in lounge chairs on the beach and finished our day with lunch and drinks. I put my feet in the water only to find out how cold the water is. We booked this excursion on our own. It's not offered by DCL.

The ship is still beautiful and well-maintained. The CMs are wonderful.

If anyone has any questions, I'll try to answer them.

Hello everyone!
First time poster here! We are so excited to have booked our very first Disney Cruise. It will be myself, my DH, Dean and our DS, Jack who will be 5 by cruise time. My DH and I have both cruised before but this will be our son's first cruise and our first Disney Cruise so we can't wait. I must give credit to Yonkrs_Girl who has gently but diligently persuaded us to partake of what sounds like a fabulous week. She also happens to be my wonderful neighbor! So cheers to you Yonkrs_Girl!!!:drinking:

Of course I would like to be added to the FE list so sign me up!!

I look forward to participating on these boards as we count down towards 9/19!!

ok.. i am SOO excited.. i talked to a crafty friend of mine about helping me decide what to make.. and WOW she has some FABULOUS ideas!!!!

i'm wondering if we think we will have 30 rooms signed up? 50 rooms? whats the average? i'd like to get started asap, cause these could take some time, and when they are done, i can just put them in a bag and be ready to go!

are we just doing one swap then? not something we need to do every day? that could take alot of time! i also like the idea of the paint chip samples from home depot... i have actually used those in my scrapbooks before.. and Lizzy loves to get one whenever she goes to Home Depot with her dad.. all the different colors to choose from!

Needless to say i am sooo excited! i cant wait to do fish extender suprises!!!!
