9/18/04 Eastern Magic- We're in the home Stretch Now

Should we have some sort of uniform identifying item, like a button or ribbon or something? that way we can find each other easily? or just a banner?

we plan to be on the ship at around 10:30. So we will be around the pool with our swim wear on ready to party hard for the next 7 days.My 3 year old will be loking for mickey and I will be joining him. It would be nice if mickey could spend some time with us? ::MickeyMo

That would probably be a good idea, but I don't know that to use. Has anyone done anything like this before? What was used?

Last cruise, most of us went out to Home Depot and picked up some Alien Green, Mickey Head paint chips and made name badges out of them.
It was easy to see who was Dis with these on. But beware, there were so many groups with so many different type name badges....and it seemed that a lot of them used those Mickey Head paint chips in all different colors, so it did get a bit confusing on the first day.

I have a PassPorter name badge pin, which I normally strap on my camera bag on vacation. It's lime green, like the color normally used by DISers when having a meet.

If anyone has any ideas, or would like to borrow ideas from previous cruisers, speak up! Let's settle on something so we can all plan for it.:teeth:

We don't have a Home Depot here, so I wouldn't be able to get those. But it does sound like a good idea. Maybe I would send someone a self addressed stamped envelope and they could pick up some extras (if anyone would be willing to do this).

I think we need a Plan A for our DIS meet (which can change to Plan B or C or D..... if it doesn't work). Just something for people to plan.

I like this idea after realizing that the Goofy Pool will be covered right after the drill, and that this would give us a more cozy place to meet. I also like knowing we can bring the kids and they can meet before going into the Club/Lab that evening. Is everyone alright with this?......

When we cruised in May we had a DIS meet in The Promenade Lounge before the drill at 3 o'clock. It worked out really well because it is a smaller area and not hard to pick out DISer's. Also it was nice and quiet. Personally, I thought it was a great spot to meet. Any time would be fine with me. Whatever you all decide DH and I will be there!

Our September 18, 2004 DIS Meet on the Disney Magic can officially be (unless changed in the future :earsboy: ):

On Saturday, September 18th, 2004, all DIS Board Members can meet and greet each other in the Promenade Lounge (on deck 3, I believe) at 3:00 pm. Afterwards we can go get ready for the drill and Sail away party.

This really is a good time, because it isn't a busy time (most people just looking around). There is no programming going on yet, and many people are on deck 9 at this time).

So should we make this our Plan A for now?

Saturday @ 3:00 in the Promenade sounds good. This is plan A right? Did we decide if we're going to wear something to identify each other?:wave2:

Plan A sounds great!

DH and I have to go to Home Depot some time this week, when we do I'll take a look and see if they have the Alien Green Disney samples. If they do I'll pick up some extras in case someone else needs them

Yes, that is "Plan A".

I think we are trying to get Alien Green Disney samples to make name tags (these are at Home Depots).

I assume we cut these out (and don't wear them with the white borders), is that correct? And we just write our names on them?

DJ

and use a marker to write your name on them.
Someone on our cruise last year made buttons with them. I guess he must have a button maker at home. They looked really cool.

The biggest problem with them is how to attach it to yourself. Last year I used double sided tape, but I am looking for a better method this time. So if anyone has any ideas, I will be glad to hear them.

What about taping a safety pin to the back and pinning it to you? Just used strong tape to tape it on.

DJ

BTW, My DH drove me to Indianapolis tonight (a little over an hour away) to find a Home Depot. The had exactly 4 of the Alien Green Mickey paint samples left! So we are set! I just hope I don't mess any of them up since we won't have extras now. I wonder if other Hoosiers have been there to pick them us as well. The other colors seemed to have more samples. ::yes::

Did I calculate it right, do you the rest of you have down that next Tuesday is the day we can book our excursions?

Thanks,
DJ

You are correct, on Tuesday July 20, we are 60 days away from our cruise.:earseek:

Has anyone received excursion info in the mail yet? I think each excursion has a number that you use when booking.

I haven't gotten mine yet, I was just going to use the information from the website. I guess I didn't realize there would be a 'number' we needed to use.

Well, maybe the excurion information will show up in the mail in the next few days.

Hello all - I am still in sunny Florida (my blood is NOT thin enough for this weather) but heading home tomorrow. Add DH and I to the meet at 3:00 on Saturday in the Promenade Lounge.

Can you believe we are almost at the 60 day mark??? Good luck to all of you planning/booking your excursions.

I got the information for our excursions in the mail today, but there wasn't any information on the excursions in Antigua. It appears to be a 'standard' Eastern Cruise excursion document.

Anyone else get theirs? Did you have information on Antigua? At least there is information on the website. That is what I plan to use when I call to book our excursions.

DJ

We received an excursion packet from DCL yesterday also. No info about Antigua. Dave and I have already booked an excursion when we're at Antigua. Still trying to decide what we are going to do while at St. Thomas. Dave wants to fish at CC. July 20 is our 60 day mark and we can book excursions.
