9/11

My dad was supposed to be going on Flight 11 for a business trip but that morning while he was packing (and running late) he came upstairs to say goodbye. Since he was late he missed Flight 11 and was going to catch the next one out, which happened to be quite sometime later in the day. Flight 11 was hit into the North Tower of the Trade Centers. He would have been dead today if he had not come upstairs to say goodbye.

I'm glad your dad is ok Adrienne.

I will never forget that day.

I was only in 1st grade but it still affected me. My mom was helping out in my class when my dad called her and she told my teacher. She took me to the office (where they had TV's playing the News) with my brother and she pulled us out of school early. Most of our relatives live in NY and some of them live about 20-30 minutes from the city. Two people I knew (one was my uncle) were in the city, but they weren't hurt.

At school today (I'm in 7th grade now) in homeroom (my Social Studies teacher is my homeroom teacher and we share homeroom with 8th grade) we each wrote on a little white slip of paper anything about 9/11. I wrote "I hope no one ever forgets." and drew an American flag. We were going to do a balloon release with our notes, but we finally decided against it. We're going to be making a collage with drawings, notes, etc.

Rest In Peace
to everyone who lost their lives this day 6 years ago and big hugs to their families and friends.

it really hasn't effected me that much. I don't know anyone who died during the crash or anything. but R.I.P. all of the officers and civialians.

I'll never forget 9/11.

I was in forth grade, and they didn't tell us until the end of the school day. My teacher told us that two planes had hit the World Trade Centers in NYC, and I was really confused. I knew it was bad, but I remember when I got home my mom turned on the news and I can picture one of the towers with smoke billowing out on CNN. :sad2:

Then the next day driving to school I was kind of in shock over it and my mom said something like 'Can you imagine all those poor boys and girls who don't have a mom or dad anymore?' Ugh, I just felt terrible.

A little while after 9/11 there was this statue made of the firemen lifting the flag on the pile of debris, and it was doing some tour around the US, and it stopped at my school.

I was really surprised at school today, because my school didn't do anything. None of my teachers even mentioned it. The only person that talked about 9/11 was this guy that sits next to me in Non West. We say the pledge everyday over the announcements, and I thought that they'd at least have a moment of silence, but nothing. :guilty: There were even a few kids in my class that didn't stand for the pledge. I can understand if they don't want to stand on some other day, but today you have to be feeling at least a twinge of patriotism. :sad2:

I was in 3rd grade when it happened and all I remember is my mom coming to take my brother, sister, sister's friends out and I from school.

Today we did not have a moment of silence or anything.:sad2:
We were asked to wear red, white and blue and all the teachers were wearing a red, white, and blue ribbon.

We only talked about it in my 7th hour and did a project on it.
I watched a video on youtube of some footage and I started to cry.
It showed someone left their camera on their balcony and left there apartment and on the footage you see the second plane flying in. The camera was only 2 blocks away.:sad2:

:sad1: :sad1: :sad1: :sad1: :sad1:
RIP 9/11 victims. :(

I remember I was in 2nd grade on 9/11. Before I went to school, my parents were watching the news, I think it was live, and they showed the towers being hit, and I could tell it was bad because my parents were really upset. They tried to explain to me how bad it was, but I didn't really understand- I guess it just seemed like any other part of the news- stuff that happened every day.. I remember in class we talked about it, but that was about it..

Our school didn't do anything today either, except on the morning news, when they say things "this day in history" and they didn't even say anything about it other than that.

I'm surprised that like all our schools didn't do anything. It's weird.

Yesterday for our Words Of Wisdom our Principal mentioned it but they like only took a second to remember it I wish we would have spent more time on it since its just a horrible thing. Ive been watching videos on Youtube since i'm now old enough to understand it that now I get so sad about it when I was younger when it happened (I was in second grade) I was careless but now I feel selfish and every night from now on I will pray for the victims I remember this year when we were in D.C. and on a tour we went to the new air force memorial and when we were driving past the Pentagon our driver talked about it and pointed out the Sheraton where the airplane hit the top on its way to the Pentagon

I was in 2nd grade when it happened, in Greek Class. Second period.
I didn't loose anyone I knew but my heart goes out to all that did.

I saw the light from my room yesterday. It was about 3:00 a.m. I just sat at my desk and looked at it until I went back to sleep.
