Just got off the phone with DCL. They said that it is confirmed that the Port is fixed. We will be sailing out of Port Canaveral.

WOOHOO! That solves so many problems. I am ecstatic. She said they just found out about an hour ago.

Keep your fingers crossed that Anna (from DCL) is right.

Cool news. Port Canaveral has their own site and are keeping it reasonably updated, the latest right now says they are still inspecting the channel.

I don't think the info you received is correct. On the local news at 6pm it stated that in order for cruise and cargo ships to pass the channel needs to be dredged due to the influx of sand. The dredging equip is not located in FL and may need to be shipped from Mississipee but they will likely hold on to it until Ivan passes though.
