9/11 Memorial Lights

Do they still have the Light Memorial on 9/11 at the Twin Towers site? Does anyone know the best spot to see them from the New Jersey side.

I want to drive out to see them on Saturday night from the Poconos. So I would like the shortest distance to drive, because we will just see the lights and turn around and go home. Thanks.

I'm pretty sure that ended years ago. They are busy building where the empty space was now. If you google it I'm sure you'll come up with some lovely pictures.

Do you mean the twin lights they beam up into the sky where the towers used to be? Yes, they still do it every year. You do not have to get very close. I think you can see it from the NJ Turnpike. I don't remember where, but we were driving back one year to the Holland Tunnel, and yes, we could see it from NJ.

It also depends on the weather conditions. On a clear night, you can definitely see the lights in NJ. Last year, it was so hazy out, and the clouds were so low, I could barely see the lights from my apartment Midtown. I used to have a beautiful view of the Twin Towers. They would blot out the southern sky. They looked so solid & enormous.

You can see them from Liberty Island Park (of course)/Jersey City and I believe parts of Hoboken.

I saw them last year - barely since the weather was not cooperating and we're planning on going this year as well, if they are doing it.

You can see them in Sinatra Park in Hoboken.
