I elected not to go, since the event was just one day and I still don't know what's up with my cousin's wedding in LV in May. Two trips out west in one year is too costly for me. I would like some of that merch however...hopefully any left overs will be sold to the public.

I am getting the Jim Shore piece because I am HUGE collector. I was so happy to see there was open edition to that piece so I can definitely get it.

I really like the wdcc Organ player. Hoping I'll be able to pick up one at WDW since I won't be able to make it for the event.

No, my understanding is that the event merchandise is exclusive to the event and all unsold items will be "destroyed" (or at least not resold in the parks). Honestly, I doubt there will be an leftover merchandise. There are tons of Haunted Mansion collectors who have been saving and planning for this event for a long time.

The merchandise is a mixture of "Event Exclusive" and your correct if those items aren't sold they'll shouldn't be seen again. I do doubt that they destroy, but we'll never know. There is other merchandise that is being offered that isn't exclusive and will be available via other channels after the event. The WDCC item is an example of something that isn't exclusive and will be seen at DL and WDW if it doesn't sell out. I also thought I saw items that weren't LE, so those are again likely not exclusive.

I was hoping for a real nice Litho, but they don't seem to do those at events these days. I am waiting to see the final edition sizes and prices on some of the items before I decide.

My DH and I were lucky to get tickets - tickets for the top 2 packages sold out the 1st day in less than 2 minutes while the 2nd day the next 2 tiers sold out in less 2 hours but it was a huge computer mess with their system constantly crashing - anyway like others have said some of the open edition items will be available at the park but most of the items are event exclusive and there is a blurb on the website stating "Merchandise not purchased in conjunction with the Haunted Mansion 40th Anniversary event, will be laid to rest."

Disney does actually destroy merchandise - I have a friend who used to work for Disney and he told me they would have rooms full of stuff that eventually would get destroyed. (I know it's sad!!!) Although a lot of stuff goes to the outlet stores from events as I have seen that happen before too.

Flitter (Mary) and I got tickets to the top tier (Grinning Ghosts). Considering all the refreshing we had to do, we feel lucky that we both got in. Friends from St. Louis & a friend from Miami/Orlando got the Foolish Mortals package. Looking forward to going!
