Hi all, my wife and I found a fantastic deal for this cruise and jumped on the opportunity. I am currently deployed to Afghanistan and will be going on this cruise during a leave period for me, so it will be nice to get to spend a week and a half relaxing on the seas with my family.

It will be myself, my wife and my sons age 7 and 3. We are longtime Carnival cruisers but are sailing on our first Disney cruise! We are looking forward to it as our entire family is obsessed with Disney, especially our 3 year old, who has been asking to go on a Mickey cruise since he has learned how to talk...

I've got you pencilled in. (did I spell that right? I hate spelling stuff wrong!).

I made an assumption that it would be you and your mom, right? If not, just let me know, I'll get it updated!

BTW, I keep thinking it but never mentioned, I love your signature saying, I may have to steal that! ;)

It's me an my mom... Michelle & Barbara! (and Planky...) (but he's just stuffed and cute so he doesn't have to be gifted... he'll just steal all of my stuff... :rotfl:)

Ohhh and steal away!! (where do you think I got it... )

So do you want me to add both of you in to the Rome private guided excursion? Have you booked either the Med cruise or the WBTA yet? Should I wait until you do?

If you and your mom

join us, that would be 6 of us.

Just let me know....here is the tentative schedule.

1.
Your English speaking licensed driver will meet you up when you disembark from the Disney Magic cruise ship (we have special clearance, the driver will drop you off and pick you up just in front of your ship) holding a sign with your name in.

2. He will drive you safely to meet your licensed Rome tour guide which will look after you.
3. Start your private Rome tour with an excellent overview of the city entering into the ancient city through the Porta San Paolo gate, which is one of the principal gates of the Roman Aurelian Walls. You will drive past such landmarks as the Pyramid of Caius Cestius, the highest and the oldest Pyramid in all Europe, the Baths of Emperor Caracalla, , and the Circus Maximus, the largest stadium ever built for shows and chariot races.
4. Drive along Via dei Fori Imperiali passing by the Roman Forum, the Coliseum, the Arch of Constantine, the Trajan Markets, the Vittoriano Monument devoted to the first king of Italy Victor Emmanuel II in Piazza Venezia
5. Stop to visit the Coliseum, skipping the line (as Nancy Aiello Tours only offers skip the line Rome tours with licensed tour guides)
6. Stop at the Pantheon, a real architectural wonder of the ancient Rome lined with sidewalk cafes and restaurants.
7. After a short stop for lunch.
8. Visit the Vatican Museums, (private tour with an itinerary especially designed for disabled travelers).
9. Visit the Ancient Papal Apartments painted by Raphael.
10. Visit the Sistine Chapel with its magnificent frescoes by Michelangelo.
11. Go into St. Peter’s Basilica, world’s largest Christian church and beautiful example of Baroque style which houses Michelangelo’s Pieta and Bernini’s work.
12. St. Peter’s Square as you will admire Michelangelo's Dome and feel spiritual embraced by the two symmetrical colonnades of Bernini.
Please, be aware that the Vatican dress code requires appropriate attire: no shorts or tank tops. Lady’s shoulders must be covered.
At the end of your private tour your personal driver will accompany you back to Civitavecchia in time to board your cruise ship.
This accessible private guided tour offers the opportunity to experience the Eternal City of Rome at your own pace and schedule.

Right now she's comfortable with the tour that Disney is doing... but I will talk to her and see what she says... do you know what the cost is? & do you know if they go to the Trevi Fountain?

We haven't booked yet. I'm waiting on the date to get my bonus. then I will book away!

NOTE ON BOAS!!!! Last time the SHED like crazy!!! It's best not to do boas if you can... Just bring a pink shirt and you will be fine. I think the sea day to Malta will be best... casual... maybe up by cove cafe... just have them order a couple of bottles of the Fairy Tale Cuvee... or whatever they have... it's easier that way!!!

WELCOME!!! (and thank you for your service!!! :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2)

Be prepared... your kids will LOVE this cruise... oh... an you will too... Compared to Carnival... you are going to get your socks knocked off!!!

Let us know if you need any help in planning. Alot of us here are pros!!! & for future reference... just remember that often DCL gives Military discounts (doubt it would be as good as what your wife got for this cruise because they are trying to fill the ships...) but it's good to know for future trips!

Yes, I am going to add Trevi Fountain, in fact I was told there's a really good pizza place right near there.

Welcome William, and from us, Thank you for your service as well. I've got a 7 year old son on the cruise too, so it's nice to see that Ryan may have someone to play with!!!!! (he loves this banana smiley)

Does anyone know penguinmomma? She asked to join the FE way back when and I haven't seen anything else from her or any details. I sent her a PM awhile back, I just don't want to miss out on getting her information for everyone and if I don't ask when I'm thinking about it, good luck remembering!:confused3

Connie...

I talked to mom and she said yes!!! :dance3::dance3:

It sounds like a good plan for us... especially since if anyone needs to stop to rest or anything for a few minutes, it won't hold up alot of people... Mom's been doing her walking and she's in good shape so this would be good. Pm me with prices and such if you have them... Thanks!!!

Can you book it with the 4 and add 2 or is it the other way around. I will know better next week about my bonus so I can book... :thumbsup2

I don't know her - but if she doesn't do it, we will have 10 cabins which gives us one per night. If at all possible, I would like to know when we might "close" the FE - so I can get to ordering. I'm not very crafty, but I have some ideas - I just need to know how many people I am buying for so I can check it off my list. :)

End of July would be a good time to "close" the list. If anyone wants to join after that, then they will understand. But I don't understand the one per night thing.......I only plan to give one gift to each stateroom with a fish extender. Is that right? Connie

I will contact Aiello Tours....she gave me a quote, but I hadn't discussed Florence with her yet. And we might use them for Pompeii and the drive to Sorrento too. Not sure.

More details to come. Connie

Hello Papaya group!

Does everyone already have their Fish extenders? I have a couple of extras and I thought I would offer them to members of our group first. :santa:

SOOO If you are a "Papaya" and in need.... Let me know!

Hi there,

Would it be possible please to join the FE? We are two cabins, and I list below our details, many thanks, Marie :)

The Wrights - Marie & Jon - Cabin 6108

The Passmores - Alan & Dawn - Murray (2yrs) & Meredith (2yrs) - yes twins...........
(Cabin number, not yet known)

Meredith's favourite colour is, you've guessed it, pink, and Murray, as yet doesn't have a favourite colour.

Looking forward to cruising with you all, Marie, Jon, Alan, Dawn, Meredith & Murray (UK) x

Sorry if that sounded confusing - so this is my first time doing this - and thought that if each person took one night (so you delivered your one stateroom gift on a certain night)- then there would be a gift in our extenders every night, because everyone will have a night assigned. Sounds like we will have more cabins than nights, so not sure how we do it - maybe some nights we assign more than one cabin to be the "givers"? Let us know if you have other ideas on how to disperse the gifts?

At first we were hoping to at least get 10 cabins...

But since we will have more... then assign each person a night and any extras can pick a night to add some extra!!!  (we had so many on the PC repo that sometimes our FE were filled!!! :)

On every cruise I've been on, people just deliver their gifts when they have time, or when they want to, no schedule involved. I don't think it matters if we get 6 in one night or none in one night......gifts are fun, no matter when they come!
