DANG! i thought our prices where high here. *im not that far from orlando*

5,50 or 7,50 depending on time of show and like 4 bucks for a small drink But 9 for a ticket i bet if prices where like that all these peeps at my school who go to to cobb 2 times a week would stop.

As for me i shall stick to the drive in not any further than cobb and alot cheaper 4 dollors for 2 or 4 movies all in one night!

EDIT: post five thousand WOOT!

well, over here in the UK it's the equivalent of about $15 for a ticket, which is about the cheapest price for our 'Odeon' chain of cinemas!

:goodvibes

our regale charge $10 for a regular adult admission. They also reduce the number of afternoon matinees on the weekends. I think matinees end at 1 on the weekend

$10 for an adult ticket here in Central NJ. Afternoon matinee (before 4pm) is $7.50. Going to the movies is no longer a cheap date.

$5.50 before 5PM near my home, in northern Il. $7.50 reg price.

Although we have unlimited popcorn and drink refills on all sizes.:cool1:

$9.50-10.00 here in the Pittsburgh area, too for evening shows. I think earlier shows are a little cheaper. It has really gone up in the last year or so...it used to be about $8 about a year ago.

We were in Hawaii a little over a year ago for our honeymoon. I had an allergic reaction to mangos (who knew) so we went to the movies one afternoon. It was $10.00 per person for a matinee. I don't recall the evening price. That was a year ago. It all depends on where you are.

$12.50 here in sunny NYC, and IMAX films $15.50....I went to a Broadway show, Mary Poppins, with discounted tickets at $30.00 each. The latter seems the way to go!

The whole bootlegging thing has influenced this in part, but since things go to video in 3 months, I just wait most of the time! I can't imagine casually going to a movie and buying snacks there: Disney REALLY starts to look inexpensive!:upsidedow

We just had a new theater open up a few minutes from our house (YAY!) and i'm so surprised at how inexpensive they are! Granted, the regular evening movies are still hovering at $8.75 per person, they have matinees as well as "twilight" movies. Matinee is listed as movies before 6pm at $6.75, but they also offer "twilight" movies which are movies between 4pm and 6pm and they are only $5!

They sell a bucket of popcorn for $10 that entitles you to two popcorn refills per visit for about 6 months. You more than get your money's worth out of it! I'd say the buckets are about the size of one of those buckets of ice cream that you can buy...

And I get coupons in my e-mail each week offering free 20oz drinks (unlimited refills) with the purchase of a DISCOUNTED popcorn! Popcorn refills for purchases other than the bucket are 27 cents.

DH and I went to a twilight movie one weekend, spent a whopping $17.00 for a movie, two popcorns, and two drinks! Before this theater opened, we would spend closer to $40 for the same thing!

And the theater has an IMAX screen...but the IMAX movies are more expensive.

In RI where I used to live, it's $10.25 ($7.50 for early showings) at the mall. You also used to have to pay $1-$4 for parking over 3 hours, I'm not sure if you still have to pay for parking or not.

Here in Maine it's $8.50 ($6.50 for early showings). I can get tickets through work for $7 though, and there are usually coupons around.

I've always compared park ticket prices to that of movies. When you buy multiday tickets, the parks look like a bargin for what you get!

It is $6.50 for matinee and $8.50 in my little part of NW FL.

These are the reasons I love my little town! Wednesdays at 1 movies are $3.00... small popcorn is $1.50. Normally movies are $6.00 here, but are played only friday evenings, saturdays and Sundays.

Last week me and DD saw Wall E and next week it will be Mama Mia... Movies and popcorn for 2 all for under $10!:goodvibes

Then we have the driveinn which is $6.00 I think, haven't been there yet this summer...

you guys should try my trick if you can get away with it!!!

I always put my school ID up front now granted I just graduated in December but I always get the student discount when I can it takes a dollar off each ticket!?

They didn't even have school ID when I went to school, so guess that won't work for me. :lmao: If they did, the 80's hair and giant glasses would give me away.

Movies are expensive here too. It's 8.75/6.75 for a matinee and the popcorn combos start at $8. I usually buy the kiddie combos for the kids($5) and go to the matinee and it's about $50 for the 4 of us. Much cheaper to just buy DVDs when they come out.
