I didn't want to take over FINFAN's thread regarding HS graduation gifts so here's my question to ponder.
What would be the approriate amount for an 8th grade graduation for a neighbor boy. We are by no means friends with the family, just a casual hello and small chit chat if we happen to walk by when they are outside. We have never been in their home and they have never been in ours. Surprisingly to us, we were invited to a party at their home. We can't attend because of another commitment but I would feel strange not sending something over there. Any suggestions as to what the appropriate amount would be?
