Hubby and I booked an 8pm flight on disembarkation day and are not sure of what to do to kill time. I've read about the rooms at the Hyatt at the airport and am considering it but do want to weigh all of our options. What would you do?

If you have a rental car you could hit the Juice N' Java in Cocoa beach for brunch. Then to Ron Jon's to shop. Maybe Disney Springs or even Trader Sam's at the Polynesian before heading to the airport. Just some thoughts. Enjoy your cruise. :)

Rental car to International Drive, some adventure golf, lunch and some shopping before heading to the airport for a meal at Outback before boarding - our usual "extra" day.

I would recommend renting a car and visiting the Kennedy Space Center. Cool place.

It depends if you have a car? We had a rental and spent the day Downtown Disney... Other than that, beach or Kennedy Space Centre which was already mentioned. I wanted to be closer to MCO though.

We are in (off? Lol) the same boat. We really want to see KSC but hate rushing around, so we're going to do the day pass at the airport Hyatt.

Our first cruise we took DME and hung out at the airport until a 4 pm flight (big mistake). Since then we book late flights, rent a car and hit Disney Springs for the day. I love the idea of Kennedy Space Center, might do that after our April 2018 cruise.

Last year, we didn't have a car so we booked a room at the Hyatt and it worked out well.

This year, we are renting a car so we will go and see something that sounds appealing based on the weather, etc, that day. Disney Springs would be a fun diversion.

Google Air Boat Rides Orlando or Air Boat Rides

These might be fun. But I still want to be an astronaut when I grow up (I'm 58) so KSC would be my choice. But it must be kinda depressing these days: no more Space Shuttle program, no Apollo, no etc... Maybe SpaceX has something going on there - Go Elon Musk - Lead On.

Before we had kids, we would rent a car for the day and have done a day at Disney, or a local attraction like Disney Springs, as suggested above. The one time we had a late flight after having kids, we did a day room at the Hyatt and thought it was well worth the $100. We showered, relaxed, watched TV, shopped a little at the airport -- didn't swim, but considered it. Way better than just killing time in the airport itself with little ones.

We rented a car and did magic kingdom. 3 rides via fast pass lunch and then off to the airport.

I have an 8pm flight after a cruise in September. A group of us are splitting a rental car back to Disney. We can just store our luggage in the trunk for the day then return the car to the airport. Several of us are AP holders so it's not a big deal. You could maybe do the bus to a resort, leave luggage with bell services, enjoy the day, then Uber or Lyft to the airport.

We had a great time at Kennedy Space Center. We thought the Space Shuttle exhibit was particularly well curated. (We'd seen the Endeavor in LA twice, but were very impressed with the KSC exhibit.) My husband and kid enjoyed the Apollo exhibits. I missed that one as the teeny one fell asleep on the bus tour. I enjoyed that the bus put him to sleep!

We have rented a car and done a day at Disney Springs. That was for a 5:30 flight (so airport arrival time of 3:30). You have about 3 extra hours, so I would either do KSC or a day at Disney!

When I was looking at returning flights for our September cruise, most of them were late in the day. Since our cruise ends on Saturday, we decided to stay one night at WDW and fly out the next day. May as well maximize our Disney time and maybe the end of the cruise won't seem so sad.

We did the room at the Hyatt and it worked out well for us too. Kids enjoyed swimming in the pool (with space to actually SWIM, lol). After such a wonderful week, I didn't want to be racing around. Wanted to just take it easy before heading back to reality.

For me - either a short day in one of the parks or the day room at the Hyatt. Depends on how tired I am.

We have done room at Hyatt (1st cruise) which was great when kids were younger and napped. We all swam, napped and watched a movie. Since then, we have done Orlando science center which was pretty good with school aged kids. Our favorite is Kennedy space center. We got their prior to opening and stayed until 3:30 and still got back, dropped off rental, through security with two hours to spare before our 7:30 pm flight last year. We will probably go back to KSC this year post cruise. There is so much to see and do if u are at all interested in space exploration. We were not sure we would enjoy it (having been Johnson space center in Houston) but we al loved it!
