Ok, my turn for something trip related..... :rotfl2:

So... Maddie wants to eat at Akershaus - I've been perusing the menus and some of the stuff at dinner seems kinda :scared: And Andy is a super picky eater, so I have to be careful what's on the menu. What I need to know is should I schedule us for breakfast or lunch? If I schedule breakfast, should I go for the first seating (8:30 am) or go for the last seating (10:10am) so we can do TT and Soarin' before we eat? :confused3
Now does anyone have an opinion in regards to the menu? Breakfast seems pretty ordinary, but what about lunch? Andy will eat Swedish Meatballs, but I can't tell if that's on the menu. Hehe swedish meatballs. Reminds me of Chef from the Muppets.

Ok my next mini dilemna is Mama Melrose - we had lunch there and loved it. I was thinking of lunch again, but given FDD (Fuzzy Disney Dining) should I try for dinner this time? Any thoughts on the evening meals at MM?

That oughta keep you busy. Discuss. :teeth:

Have never been to Akerhaus, Jimmy has no interest in the princesses - go figure:rolleyes: I ahve heard good things about the breakfast though. Heard that the cold buffet was pretty good!

I took MM off our list, we are doing Sci Fi for lunch.

Akershus was one of our favorites back in the "day". Now that's a character meal, it's really changed. I don't like either.

We are doing the lunch this trip so I'll let you know how it goes. We are doing it because one of my friends loves Aurora and wanted to see her!

We had dinner at Arkeshus in 2006. It was a pretty good experience despite the lost grandpa. I think I had the salmon...or someone at the table had salmon which I tasted...yummy. The rice cream is yummy. I tried to make it at home....I'll never do that again! The characted interaction was good; we had real princesses not those fake ones that Buzz had. ;) Pippi was very impressed with Jasmine; especially her fancy top. :sad2:

Thank you, S'late - at least someone's paying attention. I was asking how the food was, wasn't I? :lmao:

:lmao: at Pippi! She was completely entranced by the belly dancer at Marrakesh too, wasn't she. She's gonna keep Mr. Slaw on his toes! :rotfl2: Much like Maddie who loves to tell her dad she thinks her chesticles are growing. :faint:

I do hope we get to see Pippi again this August and the rest of the Loud Family!

We chose dinner because it was free dining. The breakfast menu seems rather lacking. I would go for lunch. :thumbsup2

And I'm still trying to make August work.

Here is an actaul trip related question! How long before your flight time do you have to be on the ME Bus. I thought I read 3 hours somewhere, but now I can't find it anywhere.

I am trying to get a 3:00 or 5:00pm flight and trying to plan our morning if if 3 hours is the right amount of time?

We only used ME going to POP last year, so I don't know.

DM, I remember you said check in was brutal when you were there..can you check in earlier and then just go back when it is time for you to go?

I know this was already answered but because you put my name in there specifically I'll answer too. Yes, you will be scheduled for ME 3 hours before your flight.

Yes, you may check your bags anytime you want, as long as ME is open. I forgot but they do have certain hours. Probably the earlier the better. We were there at around 10:30 am ish and that was probably when all of POR was checking out and using ME too.

Never been to Akershus and the menu is exactly why. I really had debated on that one over CRT last time because of the credits but the menu! Yuck!! If I really wanted to take Brookie there I would probably have to choose breakfast. Safe then.

I have no clue about MM. Never been there either. And it seems like 50/50 for liking/disliking that place. So, sorry!

Norway was Daran's favorite restaurant BEFORE the Princess invasion--he said it was very authentic. We went once for the princesses and they had watered the menu down considerably so he didn't like it. The girls liked the princesses okay (growing out of that by this time and they kept coming back over and over again :scared1: )--we went for Hannah who was 3 at the time and wanted to know where Goofy was. :confused3

Thanks for the ME answers everyone. DM,I remember in your TR that you had to wait a long time to check in. I am trying to get a 3:30 or 5:00 flight (This is what Airtran has now) so I want to know how to schedule the day. I am leaning towards breakfast at Kona and then just hanging out at the hotel, but of course that could change!

::yes:: I decided on 1900 Park fare as our Farewell breakfast on the 29th. It was just refurbed and we thought the dinner was really nice. I'd read the breakfast is wonderful as well. And I really don't want to go into a park per say, perhaps breakfast and a ride on the monorail is just enough.

Wait... you're leaving on the 29th, aren't you?

We are leaving on the 29th. I am hoping for at least a 3:00 - 3:30 flight. Still holding out for prices to come down a bit. I would like to at least get it below $200 pp. We won't want to go to a park that day either. I was thinking Kina cause I really want to try the Tonga Toast that everyone raves about, but on the other hand a character breakfast as our last hurrah could be fun:thumbsup2 Going to check out the menu now.

We did Akershus in August, the first breakfast seating, it was good as we had a very small wait, we were actually the first ones in to see Belle, it was nice to walk through Epcot empty but not a must do if YKWIM, the food was pretty nice (don't know about the lunch/dinner it looked yucky to me!) As for the TT thing we didn't make it out in time to get to rope drop and I would now do it in reverse, rope drop then Breakfast!

We had lunch, well about 4pm as it was the fantasmic deal, and as you know we thought it was fine but again you know we're easily pleased :rotfl2:

And I'm still trying to make August work.
:yay:

Janet from what I've read you can buy the Tonga Toast at the Poly's QS Captain Cook's and it costs $4.50 :thumbsup2

Which was also in my maybe plans for one of our non-park days:thumbsup2

Slate to borrow from Tim Gunn, make it work sister:thumbsup2

We did 1900 for breakfast last summer and felt like we were misled. Mary Poppins was NOT at breakfast. She was outside in the courtyard. We saw Alice and Mad Hatter, Eeyore, Piglet and Pooh. I kind of felt like we could have seen any of them in FantasyLand and not have spent the TS credit, ya know?

Hmmm... I wonder if the format has changed since the refurb? I'll have to do some research on that. Thanks, Kate! :goodvibes

We did the Alice breakfast at the Grand Floridian Cafe. We really enjoyed it! The Alice and Mad Hatter team worked very well together and had me :lmao: !!! The food was good too, but completely different from what is served at 1900. We may go back to both the GFC for the food and 1900 for the characters. I had some egg thing with a citrus sauce that was yumm-o!! :thumbsup2
