What can we expect with the new procedures?
Nana will be in a traditional wheelchair but can transfer and has no additional needs. My SIL with MS as of now just needs a shady wait when/if possible and this is rare - usually just the Lion King show and a few other outside queues.

We are a party of 6 with 3 kids so we hope to be seated and ride buses together if possible.

TIA

When are you going to disney because the lion king show is closed until they build the new theater.

April and that was just an example of an outdoor in the sun queue as there are others but thanks for the heads up on the LK show.

Since it's very late - here is a link to the WDW DAS thread. Post 1 should tell you all you need to know.

Thanks - I think I will have my SIL stop in to GR primarily at AK since there are more outside waits and potential problems there IIRC. Since she will have other adults with her this trip she can also hopefully leave the line and re-enter if need be. She is often alone with her two young kids so the DAS would be more helpful on those trips.

If you mean leave the line and then meet up with her party further down, that's not possible with most WDW lines. There isn't the space and there aren't access points.

I would suggest having your SIL think about not just where she has problems but what the potential problems are. I'd also suggest she not necessarily specify that she has MS. The DAS is given based on needs, not diagnosis and I suspect many CMs would hear "MS" and think of mobility/stamina issues, not the potential issues for heat problems. She needs to be able to explain her needs and how being able to wait somewhere else will help her.

In general, she should also just think about general ways to keep herself cool. Most of the heat/sun she encounters will be between the lines, just walking around. Quite a few people on the boards like the frog toggs cooling headbands, bandanas, and other products. Depending on how strongly the heat aggravates her MS, she might also want to consider a cooling vest, however, those tend to be very expensive.

Good points ` thanks for the input !

She has used the old GAC along with traditional FP prior with success. Trouble is when your a young woman with two young kids you can just use a wheel chair as there is no one to push it and she really doesn't need it most of the time. Walking from place to place isn't as much of an issue as she can plan for breaks or take a shady rest etc if/when she needs it. But trapped in a long sunny line she can have issues. The only other adult hands will be mine and I will be (happily) pushing my MIL

My guess is that we will try and plan our fastpass plus options for the attractions that will likely be an issue and then work from there. I will probably take my niece nephew and dd to the afternoon parade at MK while my MIL and SIL stay in the shade/ac.

I am sure we will figure it out but I am the planner/fp scheduler, adr scheduler and I want this to be special for my mil as its her 80th birthday and for my sil for reasons too long to post !
