That's so cool!!!! The race was for a pit board charity, and the Charlotte Humane Society had #'s 1 & 39. So since he got first place, the Charlotte Humane Society gets the proceeds. Awesome Those dogs & cats are in desperate need of money!

how does the humane society benefit if #8 won the race?

I just love seeing him win all weekend! Glad there are some other fans of #8 on the dis .

Earnhardt, Jr. was going to give some of the proceeds from the race to a charity. He chose Charlotte Humane Society as one of the possible charities, and each charity was assigned 2 numbers, each representing a position. For example, the 2 CHS numbers were #1 and #39. If he came in either 1st or 39th place, the CHS got the money. If he came in 2nd position, the charity holding #2 won the money.
