We were at the World for 8 nights....3 at Coronado Springs and 5 at Villas at Wilderness Lodge.
This is some places where we ate and a synopsis of what we thought. They are in no particular order.....many times we split a burger and ate salads:
1. Rose and Crown, lunch - We both had Fish and Chips. It was filling & greasy, not spectacular.
2. Tusker, lunch - we split the rotisserie chicken dinner and a carrot cake. Excellent for fast food!
3. Boma, dinner - #1 in our book! This was on a Friday so it was flank steak night. Excellent! I loved the salmon too. All the sides we tried were great. My fave dessert is the banana bread pudding, DH raved over the coconut tiramisu.
4. Pepper Market, breakfast - Large portions, good value, good food.
5. Cosmic Rays, lunch - split a burger and salad - surprisingly they were good!
6. Dole Whip - what's not to like?
7. Casey's Hot Dog - ditto
8. Sci Fi Dine In - DH had a burger and a shake and I had a salad and we split onion rings. Go here for the atmosphere and try not to have a heart attack over the prices. Food was okay, just pricey.
9. O'hana, dinner - We didn't enjoy it as much as our first time. Our waiter seemed a bit frenzied. DH cannot eat pork or shrimp and we just could not get that through the servers' heads. They would constantly offer him pork or shrimp, then never come back with the beef and turkey. On the other hand, I would have LOVED more shrimp, but they never came back when I was ready. We gave up on the service, but the food was great! We ate way too much of the relish tray items.
10. Whispering Canyon, breakfast - not being a big breakfast eater, I cannot get too excited over my eggs and toast. DH had waffles and said they were great. The server didn't pick on us too much...we didn't ask for any ketchup either.
11. Tusker House - again! DH loved the chicken so we went again. I got my own salad this time and he had a chicken sandwich. It was good. I would like to try Flame Tree BBQ next trip. AK does not have any sit-down restaurants (I don't count Rainforest Cafe) but I think they have the best fast food!
12. BOMA - dinner - again. Still #1. This night was Thursday and pork loin instead of flank steak. It was good, but we prefer the beef. Everything else was excellent, including the service. Best service of any restaurant.
13. Beaches and Cream - burgers and ice cream. Yummy!
14. Teppanyaki, lunch - We tried it because I needed some veggies. This was okay. Benihana's beats it in my opinion. I had the shrimp and DH had beef. The cook was not entertaining and the waitress was abrupt. The couple next to us spoke very little english and the waitress seemed exasperated with them.
We hit a couple other places, but I cannot remember them all...food court at VWL for pizza - not bad, choc chip cookie at EPCOT - hard and crunchy...not good at all, various popcorn, ice cream bars, cinnamon rolls at MK - YUMMY!
