JetBlue held a sale the other day and tickets to Baltimore were just $9 each way. So for $39.20 each, DH, a friend and I are going to Baltimore for the day. :rotfl: Something I had to do. Unexpected and I feel like I'm going crazy not going on a full blown vacation.

So, what can we see & do in 8 hrs? Pretty sure we are getting a rental car. No museums please. Waterfront, monuments, local history? She's into geocaching, so I'm pretty sure she'll want to find some of those that are based on history.

I haven't even looked at a map of the city yet. lol DH has been there once for a convention, and she's been there before, but its my first time.

What areas should we see? We are going 9/30/09.

Sometimes you just need to be wild and crazy.

Natioanl Aquarium is in the Inner Harbor. They allow people in based on timed tickets. You can buy tickets ahed of time for what time you will arrive. At busier time, tickets can sell out. We love the Aquarium

After living here for quite some time, IMHO, going to the Inner Harbor is an expensive thing to do. The only free thing to do is walk around the harbor it self.

For history, I'd go to Ft. McHenry. The Inner Harbor is nice too. All depends upon what you want to do.

Do a Duck Tour . You catch it around the Inner Harbor (and actually go IN the water around there) plus get to see some other areas of the city.

Or go over to Fells Point, the good Italian section of town.

Maybe catch an Orioles game?

They also do Segway tours around the downtown area but don't have first hand experience to give you on that.

Have fun!

The Inner Harbor and Fort McHenry are good suggestions. The Orioles are not in town but you could take a tour of Camden Yards if interested. And the Babe Ruth Museum is nearby. The B&O Museum is nearby too. I know you said no museums but these are more local history type things.

Actually, from BWI airport you could just as easily go into DC if you wanted to go that way instead.
