Does anyone know if you can book 6 airline tickets (for example on Expedia, hot wire, Delta or American) with one credit card and then book another 2 with the same card minutes later?

Here's my concern. We area family of 6 and my oldest 2 children are each going to bring a guest. The web sites will only allow you to book 6 tickets at one time and we need 8. We all want the same flight and time, airline etc.

Suggestions? Advise? Guidance?

Give it a try! The worse that can happen is that it will be refused. If that happens, call the airline direct for the other 2 tickets.

Have fun!

Generally the airline's website lets you book more than 6, have you tried that? It might be easier and generally the costs are the same as expedia, sometimes cheaper because you do not the fee that Expedia charges.

I booked 7 tickets with Airtran this past year, but I broke it down 4 and 3 because some of the seats were discounted and some were not. I booked the 4 seats and then the 3 seats a few seconds later. I just made sure that there were 7 seats total available for the flight before making the 2 bookings.

As an added precaution, I would book one adult with the first group and the other with the second. If you have to separate, it won't be a disaster. We used a messy combination of ff miles and vouchers from getting bumped to get our family of six to Denver last year. We went out on two separate flights on the same day. My oldest decided late that she wanted to go, so coming back, we were originally booked on three days different days. We were able to change her ticket (ff - no penalty) so she was on the same day as me but a different flight. DH and three DSs came back a day early.

It was a bit of a pain, but we got six tickets for something like $40 total. Hard to argue with that.

I second the fact that you need to make sure you have one adult in each transaction. If you don't they may charge you an unaccompanied child fee or whatever they call it.
