$8,659.66 Great Googily Moogily!!

OK, you got my curiousity up. I checked out DCL (which is not who I booked through) for our exact date, 5/27/06, same cabin and everything and our cruise is up $2,100!!!! Now that's reason to celebrate!! Unbelievable. There is a friend of mine who is thinking about coming on the same cruise but just doesn't have the down payment yet. Well, I'm going to tell her forget about it. The category she was looking for, cat.9 or 11 is about $5,000 already. It is more than I paid for a category 6!! :earseek: See, you snooze you lose. I just got a high-5 from my hubby for saving all that mooola!!! Yeah baby!!

Gonna surf the boards now.

We booked the July 22 06 double dip also. I booked back in Oct, Cat 9, deck 2 with travel insurance, and the cost has gone up 1197.32 and the trip is still 15 months away!!!! YIKES

That's what I figured and now I am kind of sick about it! We booked in February for the July 8th, 2006 cruise and thought we were booking early! Our price has gone up a little since we booked (I just checked) but I would have loved to have saved us (and the rest of my family that is going) about $1000. Oh well!

I guess I got fooled because last year I started looking at cruise prices around the January 2004 time frame for July 2005 and they weren't out yet. So, I kept looking and looking and when they finally did come out, they were for the CA cruises! So, I thought if I looked around the same time this time, then I would be okay! Ugh! :sad2:

It would have been nice to have that savings considering that it is looking like we will have to get passports and that savings would have paid for those. I don't think I will tell my relatives about the lost savings. I will just tell them how much we are saving as time goes by.

I just checked our cruise again and it hasn't gone up at all.(with the exception of the EBS which we got that saved us $400). This is for the West Coast 6/11 cruise. Guess it wasn't popular enough to raise the prices. DCL still shows rooms available for this cruise.

Interesting thread! After reading through this thread I went and priced our cruise through DCL website. We booked last October for May 2006. Paid $3704.00 for 2 adults, 1 child Cat. 7 inc. taxes but no air or transfers or insurance. It is now up to $5520.00 for same.

Drum roll please.....a savings of $1,816.00. WooHoo!!! :goodvibes

I booked ours about 13 months in advanced, and then transferred it to a TA for about 500 cheaper, On the DCL then it was 5,265. Now on the DCL website it's up to 6,131. Add to that my 500 savings for using the TA I save 1,366. Wooohoo :cheer2:

I just checked our rate for next month and it has went up $1100. We booked it in November. That is making me wonder just how much more we are really paying!

Cruise rates for 2006 came out Sept 29, 2004. I just checked our reservation for 2 cat 10's on the 4 night cruise July 2, and they have gone up $580. Not as dramatic a change as what some are seeing, but it's about 12%.

I checked the price for of our 5/27/06 cruise. There our 7 of us going in two adjoining category 9's for 6249.00 booked this February. That cruise now on DCL Is 10,033.00 for the same category. Wow, I feel like I won the jackpot!!!! :cool1:  :cool1:  :cool1:

I went and looked at mine. i have only saved $4.02 on cruise by booking early. But i see it is climbing so who knows where it will go. We do not go on our cruise till October 22, 2006 :flower: :cheer2: :flower:

needawdwtrip - Hi, we're cruising on the same cruise, right? The special 7-nihgt Western cruise? If so, come join us on the cruise meets boards for that date. There's about 12 of us already on that board. Drop by and say hi. We'd love for you to join us.

We booked our 4/15/06 7 night eastern cruise at the end of September of 04.
The price has already gone up $1400.00 for 2 connecting cat 10 cabins. Glad we booked early!

well, my category is all booked for the week we cruise (9/10/05) but the next Western cruise in the same category is $202.34 more than what we paid and I'm pretty sure All Seasons Travel saved me $100 of that. We booked the day the dates came out (we, too, have the SPRs!) so probably about 15 months out. Regardless, I'll take it!

I have to agree with kellyb, I thought great googily moogily was about the silliest thing I had ever heard when I first heard it, years back ( can't quite recall what movie I was watching) But I laugh every time I hear it :rotfl2:

you sure about that? I was thinking it was more of a live action in the lines of Die Hard or Lethal Weapon????

ACtually, when I wrote it out, it reminded me of Ned Flanders from the Simpsons. Doesnt he say that? Great Googily Moogily....But that is how I felt when I saw the price difference

:goodvibes :goodvibes No matter who says it, it always gets me to giggling :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

LOL! I thought that Great Googlie Mooglie was said on Maggie & the Ferocious Beast on Nick Jr. :) The kids say that so it has to be from a kid's show. LOL!

You made me check our cruise & we switched to our new booking in January after booking onboard in December and that cat 8 has gone up almost $1500!!!!!!! WOW!
