I was just coming to tell you all that. You can book 11 months in advance.

Let's hope that 11 months prior to our sailing, say September 2007, that there isn't a mad rush for opening dates and availability similar to 1/31? :rotfl2: After all, we all know how well that was handled.:sad2:

Do you remember when they had the Stand up roller coaster there instead of the Pysclone ??? Let go further then that ...remember when they had the bob sled ride there before the stand up one ...LOL Those two can go ....the only real wooden coaster at MM is Colossus ...LOL

pirate:

Don't remember the bob sled one, but I do remember the stand up one. I thought I was going crazy when I hadn't been for 10 years and was looking forward to riding the stand up again, only to find that no one knew what I was talking about. Can't remember the name of it right now though.

I agree, those 2 can go.

Hey, have you done Colossus backwards? They run it backwards during Oct for Fright Fest.

I think a lot of people will stay offsite -- unlike at WDW, the offsite hotels are often just as close as the onsite ones, so there is less incentive to stay on-site. I will probably try to stay onsite, but if there was problem with availability, it wouldn't bother me in the least to stay offsite.

Not when it comes to dressier clothes. You can't find anything for <10 year olds. They seem to think all they do is run and play 24/7 (o.k., well maybe he does).

The boys departments in most stores are only about 1/4 of the men's department, and those usually aren't big.

:thumbsup2
DW was very upset

this past holiday season because DS is no longer an infant and so the selections of nice, elegant clothes is starting to wane. Go to Dillard's, Macy's etc and there are acres of nice little girl dresses in the red or black velvet and such...for ALL ages! For little boys >12 months? Well, they are relegated to the fashion atrocity known as the sweater vest!

And even that is

up with some stupid patch or figure of a truck or something!

The only time we could find really nice stuff was either in Ralph Lauren or maybe a specialty store like Janie & Jack. But you know what? I have a serious problem with paying $65 for a pair of pants for a baby who will get maybe 3 months' of wear out of them!!! :headache:

Well Andy, you figure you and I were always +1/-1, sooner or later it would average out to 0. If finally did.

I was thinking over the weekend you and I may have to have a side contest to see who got one first. Sorry.

Yea, there I was at -2 and didn't even know we were that close!!! :rotfl:

Hazel is baby sitting her neice's 3 year old daughter and I escaped into the bedroom with my laptop to get away from all the noise. :rotfl:

I've been laying on our bed DIS'ing, trying to get caught up.

Maybe the Contemporary? I've stayed in both and while they are not directly comparable (although I totally see the Wilderness Lodge/Grand Californian connection) it's the closest I can think of . . .

It's really its own place, though . . . the pixie dust that lit up the border of the rooms after you went to sleep was nice, the pirate ship with slide in the middle of the elaborate pool area was great . . . the rooms were large and clean. Ours had a split bathroom -- not sure if they all do. From the outside the DLH seems rather antiseptic (a bit like the Contemporary?) but inside it was very Disney (more so than the Contemporary, I think).

Enna said:
We were mentally comparing it to the Contemporary, which is over $200/night.

I wonder if we're thinking Contemporary because of the ages of both properties and the room sizes.

I will agree, DLH is definitely more Disney.

I rode it backwards along time ago ....Its been awhile since i have been there , I think the last year I was there the X had been open for about a year ...I have been going to MM for a long time but the crowd there is way different from the Disney crowd ...

I am SO jealous! Any chance you'll be transferred to NNE in June??? ;)

Not likely! I'd have to volunteer to change a territory and I'm too much a Southern boy to spend more than a week or so in Maine. I'll be glad to put a good word in for you to the DC though. ;)

We're staying at Château du Nana for free because she's not going to let me live if we go anywhere in SoCal and not let her see her grandbaby! But the rate is good so I guess we have no complaints ;)

Say...

... I don't know if anyone else has noticed yet - but the DCL web site is listing catagory 9 as available to book. The price for 2 is $6500 and if you add 2 kids (in my case 4 and 7) it becomes ... let me take a 2nd glance... $9,569.96.

The only thing is I can't advance past the initial quote page to actually book it.

Andy,

You need to say no more.

Again it was the women (girls) in your life that are keeping you from the important task of DISing and capturing Pirates. :lmao:

Well, my cat. 9 for 3 adults and a 17 year old for $7212.96 is looking better all the time!!! :thumbsup2 :woohoo: :yay:

When she was born her head was in the 100% range. At 4 months they did a cscan to make sure that nothing was wrong...and it wasn't...she just has a big head...though you can't tell by just looking at her. When we went to WDW when she was 3 DS got the youth ears but DD needed the adult size for it to fit right. The most annoying thing about it is that it is difficult to get clothes that pull over her head to go on easily. They fit her well once they are on but most sweaters need to be stretched at the neck to help loosen them up a bit so they don't sqeeze her head too much.

Cool - we have something in common! DS also has a huge head. Did you have trouble with clothing sets when she was smaller? The type of thing that came with a cute hat that didn't have a prayer of fitting? I have been getting him adult size hats for ages and he is only 7!

Man you post this on the DIS and all of a sudden the DCL site gets really slow.

I'm showing Cat 8 and Cat 9 for 2A and 1C(8).

Cat 9 w/o insur or xfer = $7,460.

Room selection is GTY.

I got my quad with the 4 and 7 year olds for a little bit less. Plus we had the on board rebooking discount. So - like you Andy, the $9500 rate of 4 is somewhat reassuring. :thumbsup2

Just pulled the Cat 8 and it is $600 more for the same group. Again the room is GTY.

The mark up is less than we were looking at on 1/31. It was $1,000 more before our rebooking discount, so it would have been $900 for us.

Still, $5,200 vs. $7,460, I'm happy.

ya just check cat 8 2 adults 7062
cat 9, 2 adults 6562
makes me glad i booked within the first hour

Esteri,

Have to tell you what happened to my Weim Grace today. I was out side shoveling snow and she was playing. Came back in with her and found blood all over the floor. Seems she sliced open the pad on her left front paw. Probably on some ice.
We stuck some gauze in between the pads and wrapped her paw in athletic tape and she seems to be fine. Doesn't even bother with the tape. Not like when she opened up the area between her stomach and her upper leg. That didn't bleed but we had to have her wear the E-collar after her repair surgery.

yes, but will the DLH become one of the 'expensive' hotels AFTER the renovations?

Please don't take offense, but this made me laugh so I just had to respond. DLH is already one of the expensive hotels in Anaheim.;) For comparison I checked the rates for August 2007 and they are as follows:

Disneyland Hotel $255/night

Paradise Pier 285/night

Grand Californian 380/night
We visit Disneyland on average six times a year and always stay at an offsite hotel. Generally the Hyatt Regency or Crowne Plaza which are both about a mile and a half away from Disneyland's front entrance. Now in the interest of full disclosure DH usually gets the Hyatt Regency on Priceline for $59 and that just wouldn't be an option for anyone coming here a few days before the cruise, but even the Hyatt for the same August 2007 as above is only $140 per night, the Crowne Plaza which is directly next door is $130.00 per night. Both these hotels have their own free shuttle which operates every 30 minutes and takes you directly to the front entrance.
