The one big difference is that the clubs are always closed at meal times, which was just fine with us.

That would actually be fine with us on Disney ships also... the one thing we had the most problem with was after the kids figured out all the fun stuff (according to them anyway) was happening in the club/lab during our LATE dining time. So they kept giving us a hard time about getting ready for dinner, eating dinner with us, etc. and by the end of the cruise we were just letting them eat quickly then one of us would take them to the lab/club and come back to finish dinner. Major pain in the you know what. I had to agree with them though- from the looks of it the most fun stuff WAS during that time...

During this cruise we're just not going to bother making them eat dinner with us.

thank goodness for the summaries! yes, we did do mexico in 2005. august to be specific. it was so much fun! we are so looking forward to going back on the ship!!

Wow!!!

You did the DCL WC in '05. We didn't even KNOW they were sailing out here then. I was a bit of a newbie to the DIS then - as I recall - and we learned about those sailings long after they had started selling. So the prices seemed sort of stiff. I think that year was the year our sailing was "mocified" by hurricane Frances... or was it the year before that?

And as for Princess R/T from SF... again... WoW! GOing from SF must have been fun ... going under the GOlden Gate an' all - plus the conveneince of departing and returning to SF. We did a R/T from Seattle maybe 5 years ago on NCL. It was nice too - but we did not see Glacier Bay... and there was no calving glaciers at the post after Juneau - I forgot where they took up to - but calving glaciers was one of the hoped for events that was not meant to be for us.

How did you like the Princess sailing? What were a couple of the most memorable things from that sailing?

I will let pictures tell my story.

Over to the left of your posts in the yellow section- down at the bottom right it should be green when you're online. But yours isn't green. Very odd indeed.

Legend of the Five Rings RPG (not the CCG)

It's a role playing game similar to Dungeons and Dragons except modeled after mythelogical Japan. One of my oldest friends )known him 35 years) landed a ob as the "Line Developer" for this game and got me started on it. A few hundred (or thousand) posting back I just happened to notice some D&&D folks posting here in search of gaming pals. SO I got to thinking ... maybe there are gaming enthusiasts on the DIS or our sailing who might entertain the possibility of doing an adventure over the next 18 months (play by post/thread or blog). Then climax with a game series on the Magic next August. The national average per capita for L5R players is something like 1 in 30,000 if I did the math right... so the odds of ONE other player besides myself being on our sailing is less than 1 in 11. That's just to have two players among 11 sailings... to have BOTH on the same sailing is something closer to 1 in 121!!!

SO I put it in my siggy... and I figure with 1,000s of postings and viewers all ove the DIS then there is a much better chance of encountering someone who knows about the game.

Now I know why my kids call me boring - here I finally have a whole evening to myself to do WHATEVER I please and where do I spend it? Lurking, vacuming and wishing I was doing something exciting. Boy what happened to everyone? Is it just the West Coasters now?

And one last thing - I guess I have to agree with my girls - I sure am boring!
