Tanzanite is a beautiful gemstone. It sort of looks a lot like a sapphire ... however, I'm no gemologist. SO I might easily be fooled by gems treated chemically, artificially colored, drilled by laser (to remove visible impurities) or irradiated. As I've heard that they "cook" some gems to increase thier "marketability". Check out these discussions on the matter below...

Definitely doing some emerald research in my home stores before I go.
That emerald site has lots of good advice. If there isn't anything important missing from that site, we may not need anymore "book" research, just visiting home stores and getting better at judging an emerald visually

Just checking in with a very quick hello. I hope to go backwards tomorrow and read what all I've missed.We had company all week (one of the other "Escaping Moms" and her family) and the week before was our record number of 3 ER visits in one week....DS has MRSA Staph. He's doing much better now. So now that we've gotten all that over with, I can feel free to collapse.

Stacey--so sorry to hear about your DS, MRSA was going around our area quite a bit in the fall. And yes dear, feel free to collapse, sounds like you deserve too. Sending some and your way!!!

What I find just amazing is where the wenches minds are this early in the morning. And to think they complain about Crash's images and the sources of the images! Almost gives some credence to protestations of innocence (almost, Crash, not actually).

Well there isn't anything to complain about, those wench-ladies have been posting their dresses and shoes on this thread now for a few days, I think as well dressed Gentlemen ( and pirates) we should discuss the clothes we will take before 'they' pack our luggage and decide for us.

I agree Crash is -almost - innocent, maybe a wench conspiracy
