I thought i would post a couple of Christmas pics -- these are from last year though....we haven't put up any Christmas decorations this year, we really thought we would be moving into our new home next week! We will hopefully be moving before the new year.......

Our tree will look the same (I think dh & the kids are putting it up tomorrow night) the only difference is the ornaments will be in different places! :rotfl2:

And the kids will look older! :rotfl: :rotfl:

16dd (then 15) just got home from Ballet class -- that's why she is dressed *weird*.

And dd with Butterscotch!

Crazy143.jpg

Does Claire still play with Butterscotch??? DGD is trying to convince me she needs one.:rotfl2:

Stacey, so sorry to hear about Jay's fingers.:sad1: I hope he's doing well.

Mike sorry to hear about your Grandmother:grouphug:

your :welcome: ! [ hope he's in the main picture ]

...pony?....i don't know why...but it sure irks me, that my lil'sweetie
actually was given a pony for christmas. however, he was
special...& would never let...another living person ride him.

[did i ever mentioned my mil wasn't a big fan of me dating her
daughter...had this errorous impression..of me being a bandit..
ya kno? like from johnny quest? ]

now bearing that lil' facto in mind....i  the one time...my
precious mia...decided to ride her pony . he took her on the
ride of her life...:flower3: [ a bucket of oats..was never earned
for a better reason...that i can think of :rolleyes1 ].

 . oh, she named him..."stormy"-:goodvibes

* the closest "we" ever got...was the donkey story ...[ the one told
before..tied to the laundry posts ]. * we did have neighbors with
horseys...& some took me for rides..when i was a tyke. like 28 years
ago...& i can remember ..."how tall" ...the horse was. why would
i want to get up..on something that could eat "me"..in one bite?!
but before i could object...my brother tossed me up! giddy up ,
has never been so scary!

dwats my lil'darling...this cross reference...reminded me ..of a story
that used to give me nightmares...my own animals adventures...
one snowy day, we all were in our neighbor's pasture....where
the bull was supposed to have been "put up". well, someone got to
tell the bull or left the barn door opened.....now, i wasn't very old..
5-6 & after sledding to the bottom...[* wearing a head to toe..red
snow suit]..i heard a noise..what's that? :confused3 ...i'll tell you..
a raging bull....i froze right on the spot...good thing my older brother
reached me first...or i've been a pancake!

..talk about being cute...my mother took home movies...with a kodak
8mm camera...[ similar to the one they have with walt @ mgm ]...
..in that same red snow suit..being "tossed" around , like a beach ball!
* ok?..you got to know my parents..to understand , this is how we
were raised...interesting, some 20 years later... my older brother took
home movies..of my parents..playing keep away with "astro"...our old
english sheep dog, .

i also don't like snakes..but then again..that's another story....

sure wished my lil'miss cutie..had home movies of her mother's
ride..on the wild side..:) ..ha!..even though my "mil" may have held
a low opinion ; at least my lil'miss knew..."quality" when she saw it!
:snooty: ...i was cute as a bug...back then......& where do you think
....our kids got it? :snooty:

..you kno ,,there's good reasons why i call my lil'miss a
cutie pie....:wizard:

Happy Birthday Rich!

Arlene, give him a great big hug from us all here in NYC!:)

:love1: party: :bday: :cake: :bday: party: :love1:

One of my coworkers is a devout Muslim and during Ramadan she goes all day without food .She and her husband get up extremely early to have a large breakfast and pray before sunrise and then after work they go to their place of worship, pray and break the fast. Sounds like your coworker is assimilating to other cultures just for what she can get out of it and not for the true meaning of the holiday.:confused3

She didn't mean any disrespect to anyone. Personally I don't see her point of view as being much different that perhaps say someone that celebrates Christmas by giving and receiving gifts (getting into masses of debt), having a huge meal or series of them and buckets of booze without a single thought all day for the actual purpose of the day itself. This unfortunately is just about everyone I know and work with.

The only people I know well, that actually celebrate the birth of Jesus is my brother and his family. This is the main reason we don't see them on Christmas day as they go to church and celebrate with my SILs family who are very religious.

I'm not religious, so I don't celebrate it. I get a light hearted bashing from friends and workmates occasionally teasing me about not doing anything on Christmas day. I can't see how eating and drinking to excess is anything to aspire to.

Sorry gone slightly off topic and I mean no disrespect to any one of any faith or belief by anything I've said in the above. Its just an observation. New Zealand, as a supposedly Christian country, during the last census, there were more people who put "Jedi" as a religion than any other faith. Perhaps it says something about NZ culture ... ?

Well, we figure we have two choices....laugh or cry. So we've done a little of both, but mostly laughing.

Jay came home from work the other day (he has to go, we own it) held up his hand and said "I'm getting tired of working my fingers to the bone for you" :lmao: :lmao:

And my manicurist offered to give Jay a manicure at a discount. :rotfl2:
Jay said he wants 20% off.

They say laughter is the best medicine. I'm a firm believer in making light of things and looking on the bright side.

When I was in hospital after falling off my bike and fracturing among other things, my jaw, the staff kept coming in to see what all the giggling was about in my cubical. I kept having to plead with my Mum not to make me laugh as it hurt my face too much.

The weeks following my accident I was a little down in the dumps on occasion especially as Robert was in the UK babysitting for his sister who was having her third child and I was struggling with bits and pieces at home alone. My remedy was hours of DVDs with comedies. The Victor of Dibley on many evenings made me feel a lot more cheerful, even if laughing was still painful and I had to hold my face.

When Mum had her hysterectomy, a bunch of my friends visited her the night before the op and luckily she had her own room as we were giggling and trying to behave. The nurses came to see what was happening and said how nice it was hearing people enjoying themselves as half the visitors ended up making the patients feel worse!

A friend of mines mother is terminally ill. She has been terminally ill for the last 20+ years and has at this point outlived all her friends. She always jokes with her doctor about whether she should still buy green bananas or to get the ripe ones :lmao:

Gee, I had the same idea!!!:woohoo: I am hoping for a crusie on the new ship to Europe.:flower3: I plan on booking a dummy cruise and keep flipping it til something good comes along.:yay:

We are going to do exactly the same thing, however have our fingers crossed for either Asia or somewhere in the pacific. Either would be a lot closer than the Caribbean or Europe for us :) I don't even really care where it goes as long as I'm on it. Heck if it didn't even leave port, I'd be happy :rotfl:

Hello everyone!

Sorry I've been MIA for so long. Life just has a way of messing with the fun stuff.
I've still been going to therapy 3 days a week and trying to stay caught up at work and all.

We won't be going on our NCL Christmas cruise this coming Thursday. My husband had an accident at work and had to have surgery, so it's best that he not travel right now. Sooo...we've switched to planning a nice quiet Christmas at home, which is definitely okay with me. I'm just glad we'll all be together, and that he's okay.

Oh Stace, sorry to hear of your DH's accident at work, but happy to hear that he is OK and that you will all be able to spend Christmas together. Here's some :wizard: for both you and your hubby for continued speedy recovery.

I've heard it said, laughter is the best medicine. :flower3:

So I saved $520 dollars yesterday...
I didn't buy a beautiful little black beaded dress at Ann Taylor ($450 ) and I didn't buy this one either
205049_2182
This one is only $80, so I might go back and get it if it's still there in a month & I would have it hemmed just above the knee. Both would be great for TOAL.

See, I'm frugal.

not sure why the photo link isn't working.

Cheryl this was a cookie party at one of our friends house. The whole idea is to invite a bunch of kids to decorate pre-baked cookies.

OMG I did that one year in my SAHM days. I pre-baked 9 gingerbread houses and a bunch of gingerbread men. It was crazy, but fun.

On a sad note, my grandmother passed away last night. She was sick and in a lot of pain for a while now, so it is good to know that she is at peace. it's still hard on the rest of us though.

I'm so sorry for your loss, Mike.

Well, we figure we have two choices....laugh or cry. So we've done a little of both, but mostly laughing.

I figure if you can't find at least some humor in every siituation, it's time to give up.

I'm glad Jay is OK, Stace & I'm glad you popped in. We missed you around here.

I do wish 2007 would hurry and end!!! :rolleyes1

That's the way I felt about 2006, we had 3 deaths in our family, Hazel totaled our car, and we had a few other things that brought us down, but we made it through the year, 2007 was much better for us, now we are looking forward to see what 2008 brings!!!

My best to everyone for a GREAT 2008!!! :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

i also don't like snakes..but then again..that's another story....

Me either........ From time to time I will come across a little snake in the curb meter boxes, my skin crawls everytime I see one.

Although, one time when I was reading the Buisness Book, I opened the lid to one of our pit meters and saw a very large black snake, it must have been 8-10 feet long. I nearly passed out when I saw it. I called a co-worker and got the hook off his truck and was able to grab a hold of the snake and let it go in the field, about 50 feet away, from where I was working. From that moment on, I check out each meter pit before entering.

Sometimes you *do* have to find a way to make light of things to keep your sanity. When they were talking mastectomy or lumpactomy, I thought, hey the later is much less invasive however, the mastectomy reconstuction comes with a free tummy tuck - Whoo-Hoo :rolleyes1 :lmao: It's those sicko little thoughts that help keep your spirits up :thumbsup2

M, I love Ann Taylor, and seem to have very good luck there. Their holiday collection usually gets slashed to over 75% off by the end of January. You may be able to pick that up for a song.

I got my first sun dress, perfect for the cruise dinner wear, in Oct. It was on Macy's clearance rack for orig $130 - got it for $9.99 :cool1: .

I can't pay full price for anything either - well, except maybe for cruisin'

Here's my 50lb, 9 month old Boxer with a couple of them this past week.

Claire (6dd) would be in HEAVEN with the dog and the *little* horses! :rotfl:

They would probably all run away from her though! :rotfl2:

Great deal! I'm hoping to score some great deals on a couple of dresses for formal night next month myself.

She certainly *uses* it alot....... Just remember if they can climb up on it to sit on it.....they can climb up on it to STAND on it....... ;)

MIL & FIL *celebrate* Christmas and they are atheists. 24dd's MIL & FIL *celebrate* Christmas and they are Jewish!

We (my family) celebrate because of the birth of Christ. I did say a very UN Christian like thing to DD....... I told her that it shouldn't even have to be a choice of *where* to spend Christmas Day! ;)
