The New York subway system is a marvel and I use it whenever possible. I think Stephen could have quite some fun on our trains!

1/ Congrats on 2,700 posts.

2/ Stephen has it on his 'high priority wish list'' He wants New York, -now if I can tie it in with something in 09 I would be pleased. He also wants to do the Helicopter around the city and statue of liberty.

New York was featured in a Doctor Who episode or two earlier this year and its inspired him to want to go there.

We did do a short trip on the LA trains between Hollywood and vine and Universal studios in 05, that was nice and of course went all around Barcelona on their underground and overground trains this year, I have done a couple of stops on the NY trains, it was from near the world trade center to Broadway.

About 2 years ago, a friend of mine did WDW and Wonder for first time (first time at either) and his TA swore that DCL was planning to running ships out of Philadelphia in a few years.......

Just stopping by for a quick second before we leave for the weekend. We are taking a quick trip out to Galena, IL to visit friends who moved out there a few years ago. Once again, I will miss chat tonight

Debi, I am so sorry to hear about Chivas. It is never easy to lose a pet. You will know when you are ready for another one. They do bring so much love and enjoyment into the home. I had my cat, Snuggles (22), put to sleep in June 2005--I'm still not ready to add a member to our family.

Sounds like you all have been quite busy. Glad you enjoyed CanCun and the scrap show.(I'd to go to one of those one day).

I have to say I was very worried by that thread, the thread starter read one on my posts... Firstly thats a very stupid thing to do you should ignore them... but took 'our' discussion a little out of context, and I feel gave the impression that it had some substance.

They did correct it a bit later when posters started asking if this 'is' fact', I personally would love it to be New York and a cruise down to Bermuda and the Caribbean, I would like that more than Alaska, but, if its not maybe I will get blamed for kicking that rumor off!

I do hope that the posters on the NY thread read back in the context it was disccused.

I'm sure anyone actually reading through the thread would see many, many disclaimers that we were simply speculating . . . don't worry about it. There are always many speculations on the boards before the announcement and that's part of the fun.

The deadline to join in shall be Saturday November 3rd - midnite since I'll be traveling until Friday. You shall receive info with your SM beneficiary in days following November 3rd.

Please note - if your DIS screen name begins with A-M... PM ME.... If your screen name is N-Z then PM Tina at Downrivermama... as we are dividing the work load and logistics so we can participate as well.

This is proposed as a simple FUN game in a familiar vein. Would you like to particiapte in a secret gift exchange and guessing game of sorts? All who particiapte shall be secretly matched up to two DIS neighbors whom they shall either send to or recieve potentially taunting, provocative, thoughtful and/or otherwise curiously meaningful token gifts. The DIS neighbor sending to you is a SECRET MICKEY benefactor for YOU. And YOU in turn shall serve as a SECRET MICKEY benefactor for someone else!

The exchange shall occur TWICE for this game : once on or about Thanksgiving week.... and again at or about the time of Christmas/New Years' Week. The total value of these two items is suggested to be no less than about $25. And the upper limit shall be no more than $100,000. Anyone sending significantly less than $25 in items shall risk endless taunting from your on-line neighbors here <chuckles>.

I don't think I've taken any tests on this - but if I had to guess about what I'm like - I would say I could identify with being mostly Sanguine with a sprinkling of a few traits cited in the other quadrants: IE - from choleric = impulsive & Optimistic, and from Plegmatic I can only say I'm even tempered. What I'm "not" for the most part is everything in Melancolic.
