1) What is your SHOE SIZE? 10.5

2) What is your favorite television show or series? Mad Money (on CNBC)

3) What is your favorite big screen MOVIE? Tough questions.. lets go with "Mad Mad Mad Mad World"

4) What was your favorite subject and class in school/college/post grad school? Geography

5) Where/how did you 1st meet your SO (or last hot date?) ... I kno ... its' a potentially a loaded question. A good friend wanted to set us up... so she had me do her taxes... and I still married her (even though she was broke)!

6) Have you ever broken any bones? How? Never broke a bone (neither has my DW or my DDs or my brothers.

7) Do you have a favorite flavor of ice cream (substitute any dessert if desired) Pistachio or Coffee

OK... so who got it? YOU DID!

Mrs. Scooby I am very proud of you finally posting a photo. I will have to sit down and come up with a little more difficult list for next time.

:goodvibes :goodvibes Thanks. Nice to see I'm not too old to learn something new:thumbsup2

Sorry, this got lost in the pirate run last night. In reply to your post.
Knee replacements (both knees) in the future for sure, but what I was referring to, in my post, is the upcoming winter months, cold winter weather and my knees do not go well together. But, my new infrared heating pad sure does help!!! :goodvibes

I wasn't sure if you had considered a knee replacement or not:confused3

One of my co-workers came stomping (literally:rolleyes: ) into my office a few days after her knee replacement to show off how well she healed. She was thrilled to finally be free of the pain. I'm working on coaxing my DH to consider a hip replacement that he has been putting off for years:rolleyes: He is in pain every day and it is hard to watch and not be able to help:sad2: He admits that the whole idea grosses him out quite a bit, but he is finally coming around to the point where he is considering making an appointment with an orthopedic surgeon.

Have you tried those heated bandages that have adhesive and stay hot for 8 hours ? They're expensive:scared: But they helped me quite a bit when I had problems with my neck. I forget the brand name, but any drug store should have them.

Hey Strangers - I had to pirate: this as it was put so eloquently. I am still alive here and just killing some time. Haven't been on here in over a month and was wondering if I should try and keep up. Looks like Stace's post answered my questions. Hope everyone is doing well and hopefully I'll be checking in more often.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Oh yeah - just had to pop on - CAPT CRASH??????? You out there?

Have you replaced your 10D yet?

Guess what I got yesterday??? :woohoo: pirate: :yay:

I got a new toy. :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 :dance3:

I intend to sit down with my new 40D this evening if my youngest ever gets home from her volleyball tournament. I hate to get all engrossed and then have to stop.

I have even given my Xmas WISH list to Hubby - I want the Canon 28-105mm lens.

I hope that you booked this cruise for yourself because I see nothing near these price ranges when I log into the Disney web site (not that I could go during this time period, but I could DREAM). This would make a great 50th birthday present.

Yeah...

I looked right into those dates on line and called DCL directly - and I found nothing close to your prices. The best was some $3.000+ for the four of us - and the lifve rep offerred a 3 niter sailing that came close to your rates.

So - we're here on beautiful Catalina Island... Alica went to the first set and proclaimed it was extremely enjoiable. The 2nd performer was a talented vocalist (he wrote the theme song for Ghost Busters) and the 1st vocalist was a first timer on Sax. She was worthy of her craft.

I was thus engaged in Daddy daycare service for our girls and thier Hawaiian cousin. They generally had thier way with pillow fight assaulting me in the room after lunch - then we went on a huge expedition up and down the modest strip of sand - wound up by the playground then reversed our path to the Casino = after pausing at the local Vons' for juice bars and some heavy pre-supper snacks - which I'm heating now as I surf.

The hotel here is a fine facility with excellent amenities and condition. I took a closer look at the other place- the Catherine - and I'm glad we wiggled out of it. OK... my stuiff is ready to serve - so it's time to go. No wifi here - and I've checked to se if there are any unsecured gateways in range... so I'm just using the courtesy terminal to check news, emails and post a "hello"
from Catalina Island!

Congrats on the 40D~!

I'm still shooting with my 10D on Catalina - waiting for a "steal" or break on price.

I gotta run - the food I heated is too hot so I'm giving it a moment to cool and post - but mayI suggest you consider the F/2.8 28-70 L .... reason being is the 40D has a new focusing pattern with a series of "X" patterns. These only come into play with f2.8 or faster lenses. I know the 24-105 f4 IS is a wider range - and has 2nd or 3rd generation IS - but the focusing precision is greater with the f2.8 medium zoom. I would handle both carefully before becoming emotionally attached to one or the other. Just my $0.02 of thoughts. I'm still uncertain which way I'll swing once I step up to the 40D. I'm trying to reduce the number of lens swaps if possible and a 24-105 f4 L is about the same price.

If - on the other hand you are talking about the 28-105 f/3.8-5.6 .... ther are TWO versions out there. The older design is more expensive and gets better optical reviews. Get that one - its' a steal for the money!

Cool thanks for the info - I may have to update my wish list to DH later. I HAVE GOT to read that manual!!!!

Have fun and don't burn yourself!

Actually,we slept on it. Decided we should really pass it up since we don't have this cruise paid for yet. I found the price on the DU site. Put in the date Dec. 8,2007 and a Cat 12 was listed at $599.00. Had to pay in full today in order to get it though.

Laurie, I had a partial knee replacement on my left knee in March 2001, that knee has been doing well since then, it's the right knee that is giving me all the trouble now. My ortho doc said the partial replacement I had done should last 10-15 years, then I would need the total replacement. I'm not sure if we are going to try a partial replacement on the right knee, or go for the total replacement if the pain gets any worse. :confused3

I tried one of those heating bandages you were talking about, I had a bad reaction, so I'm not going to be trying them again. :sad2:

My DW had a total hip replacement when she was 49. She is doing so much better. Before her surgery, she was in so much pain she could hardly walk. I even brought a wheelchair home from work incase she needed it. The only problem she has is with some stiffness from time to time, but at least she doesn't have the severe pain any longer. :upsidedow

I used to watch that sometimes with Adam. (Maybe more than sometimes) He was in love with Sarah Michelle Geller.:)

Glad you wiggled into some nicer diggs too!:)

Sounds like she had a great day! Congrats!!!
Accelerade is basically a powdered Gatorade but it has carbs and protein. My boys add some red grape juice to it. It's supposed to aid in muscle recovery. Endurox is very similar, but it has more protein.

Good luck tomorrow!
Thank you for the advice. She had three races today and she received two PBs. Tomorrow she has three more races. I'll be sure to pack some bananas. I have never heard of Endurox or Accelerade. I will look them up on the Internet.

Hey Paula, you are almost up to 3000 posts with 2643 being on this thread alone.............;) :thumbsup2 ;)

Hey, Andy, when I was looking for pics last night, a lot of the DCL ones were from your pic collection!

How are your knees holding up with this crazy Jersey weather?
