I have a question about tiaras... Are most of you wearing real or play ones? I have three beautiful ones, but I'm afraid to travel with them because I don't want to lose them. Also, one is missing a stone. Any idea where you can buy those kinds of crystals? It is a colorful one.

Here's the tiara I plan to buy. I can get the bling to match the dress I have my eye on. The decided to go with green one.:thumbsup2 Now I just hope they lower the price soon.

I hope the darn tiara will work with braids.

Meant to respond to this a long time ago but finally got around to it today :) That is one great thing about where we are... It's very remote and tons of hiking trails.

Here's a happy DD

On Word- ICK!!!!

A This one's for M&M's Mom... A UFO that we saw on the way home
IMG_5302.jpg

Just think. You too can be in the UFO museum. :rotfl2:

Hello to everyone. I have been following this forum since it began and want to introduce ourselves.I'm Chris and my DW is Carol we booked this trip the day it opened and will also be sailing with DD Carol SL Bob and 3 GC Mike14 Matthew6 and Mikala4.The two youngest are extra-special to us and will share that story later. This is our 6th DCL cruise and can't wait. The information and chat here and at the pirate zone has been a great help for me planning this trip and want to say thanks to all who have put so much time and effort into making this happen.

Welcome!!!!

Ah yes- the notorious flying arrow UFO. Appears as a giant black flying arrow typically pointing at a "weather balloon". After digging through hundreds of thousands of declassified documents made available through the freedom of information act, we now know that the giant black arrow is, in fact, a fusion powered hyperspace transport from Omicron Theta 5. Typically they do little more than scare local hunters and cause them to shoot other hunters in the face (note recent incident relating to our Vice President).

The white puff next to the transport ship is, in fact, a weather baloon.

:charac4: :charac4: :charac4: :charac4: :charac4: :charac4: :charac4: :charac4: :charac4: :charac4: :charac4: :charac4: :charac4: :charac4: :charac4: :charac4: :charac4: :charac4: :charac4:

You crack me up!!! :rotfl:

My DMIL lived in Kodiak,AL just before WWII. She was in the Red Cross and Kevin's grandpa was a Civil Engineer. She left there when the war broke out and went to Europe. She shot her first Kodiak Bear there.

Very cool. We lived in Kodiak for 2 years. Lots of WWIII bunkers up there. They could see Japanese ships from parts of the island. Not many people realize how close they were in the north.

Please tell me FIL isn't responsible for Mill Bay Road. It is one of the 2 main roads on the island and built on top of an old Russian Logging Road - they just put asphalt over the logs. The potholes form in strips, so it still looks like a log road. They re-pave that sucker every year.

Oh and Alaska is AK, Alabama is AL.

Ya know...you're not supposed to throw bottles overboard.:stir:

Yeah, but it's OK if you take the time to decorate it and throw it over when it is dark and no one is watching. :rotfl2: :rotfl2: Besides, who's gonna notice a 5' bottle with my corpse in it??

ATTENTION

Dolphin Swim in Cabo

They just opened up some 8:45 am to 10:45 am slots , I was able to change mine from the 12:30 pm slot ...

Looks like I will be spending a good portion of the day at Cabo Wabo :cool1: :cool1:

pirate:

Thanks for the heads up Todd - I was able to get DS and I booked for the 8:45!! What's even better is that he we told him that we couldn't get the ressie so we wouldn't be doing it so we're going to keep it a secret until that morning:banana:.

A bit of a distance from my old stomping grounds;)
It will be Andrew's first time in the stack and he is so looking forward to it.
This is our first time on the Magic. Our first 2 cruises were on the Wonder. Is this your first long cruise ?

This will be our longest. we have done two 10day one on the Magic one on the Wonder also several 7 days. I guess you could say we're addicted. I can't wait to see what destinations will be added when the new ships are in service.

Yeah, but it's OK if you take the time to decorate it and throw it over when it is dark and no one is watching. :rotfl2: :rotfl2: Besides, who's gonna notice a 5' bottle with my corpse in it??

:lmao:

C'mon, that would just be a waste of a good, pool chair-saving corpse!

Our adult kids really enjoyed him as the Asst Cruise Director on the 10nt! Brent was the CD.

I liked Hollywood but loved Brent!!!! :hyper: :hyper: Does anyone know Ian???:worship: :worship: He was the greatest!!!

Thank you for that info. When it comes to the LA area, I'm lost....literally!
Gives me an extra week to lose a pound or 2! :rolleyes1

Weight loss and Mike's lemonade should not be in the same house together!!:rotfl:

I know what you mean about weather effects on us - I suffer depression during the winter - I really crave the sun - and Warm weather!! San Fracisco itself gets a lot of grey foggy days in summer - but live I just outside S.F. - in a "sun-belt" !!

So at leaset you live in San Francisco and just put up with fog!!! We had 23 days of no sun and was freezing and snowing this past January!! I love the heat and the sun......so why do I live in Illinois..........becuase we need insurance!!:(

Last cruise I ran into *Disers* during daytime grown up time and I hope to this time, also! It was lots of fun sitting with our group. We had a blast at the Ducky WIlliams talk --- Cheryl & John, remember GoofyGuy at that one? :rotfl:

Just because we saw him once (I have sailed with Ducky twice) let's do it again!!!popcorn::

AGAIN, Steph...this is why I love ya and perhaps now owe you TWO drinks with a couple hours away from the bunchkins. I am so glad to be with the kids and I want to do tons together, but the time I truely cherish is time alone with joel or time alone; I think I've come to appreciate those more deeply because so many things are done as a family or with the kids that it seems "obvious" or "normal" to enjoy those things; but like spending a couple hours scrapbooking with other ladies or having a drink with adults in the even are more rare so they are special in a different kind of way.

OK OK OK...that got WAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYY to thought provoking....but as a mom I knew most would say "time with family" or "time with the kids"; just wondered if there are a few brave ones of us who really DO appreciate a couple hours alone reading a book or with other ladies doing something for Moms instead of for kids. THANKS FOR THE ENCOURAGEMENT! You're awesome

I love my children and now grandchildren but the most fun My DH and I ever had was the first time without children at WDW!!! I had taken my children to WDW at least 20 times. My favorite time was when we dropped our youngest off at college and went to WDW!!! We could do whatever we wanted and when we wanted to!!! :rolleyes1

Are you going to the adult clubs after dinner?

You do know what my answer is of course!!!:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

We did just the HepA. And Thank you,no on the Rooster Shots!! :scared1: Had those done 2-3 years ago...hopefully never again!!!

Did you go for your booster yet??? I have to go anytime after July 10th!!:headache: My arm hurt for three days!!

Well..no Mikey Mouse Club T-**** for us! Went in and started to order..they were on sale for $10.95 before names on the back...between entering the shirts and finishing the sale..they went up to $19.95 :scared1: I called CS and was informed that they had been on sale but as of 7PM EST - they went to $19.95. The first day I looked - they were $17.95 before names so now they are even higher!

Oh well..maybe I will try the transfer thing...very frustrating!

Desiree......if I can do a transfer.....anyone can!! There are lots of tips on the DISign forum !!!:thumbsup2

:cheer2: It worked thanks to my DS.

The signature looks great!!!:cloud9:

We have them here too. Mom has a friend that just went to the hospital last week after being bitten. They also call them "Fiddle Backs" here because of the destinctive "fiddle" shape on the back of it's head.

brnrecluse.jpg

Debi no more spider pictures!!:scared1:

Of course we appreciate a little time (ok 15 days) away from work, families, and responsibilities - we are the ESCAPING MOMS!!!

Seriously, I am SOOOO looking forward to some "me" time. My "current" life consists of working full time before driving my DD 45+ minutes each day to her 4 hour Gymnastic practice, before dropping into bed each night. Then spending weekends trying to play "catch up" on the normal Mom stuff of groceries, laundry, making sure all homework projects have been completed (YEA FOR SUMMER BREAK), etc. I have "supported" numerous "Boys Trips" over the years and now my husband is being gracious enough to allow me to takes this TOAL. :cool1:

I certainly hope he survives two weeks of work, commuting DD, and making sure her first weeks in HS go well.:rotfl2:

Hopefully you will be appreciated for what you do every day.

Has anyone been following Staces TR?.Looks like her day in Cabo was very eventful

UPDATED IMAGE FOR MICKEY MOUSE CLUB LOGO

OK - Found out that PhotoBucket "shrinks" the resolution when you post images there :( Since we need a high-resolution image so we can print it as large as needed, I have uploaded it to my business website. I KNOW its not going to get messed with there!

The link is: http://www.bwdarrah.com/dcl/images/mickeymouseclub.jpg

You can either click and view it and then right-click and pick "Save Picture As" OR just right-click the link above and select "Save Target As". These instructions are for Internet Explorer on a PC, but I assume other browsers and Macs are somewhat similar.

This version is 1992 x 1973 pixels.

Pamela

I went and bought t-**** for the image...I am trying to find your instructions again (I saved them but now can't find them) How do you reverse the image? I think in your instructions you said you didn't have to? But I am confused.

thanks!

Here's mine....

P1010522.jpg

It has real Swarovski crystals. As far as "real" or "play" ones, I think you'll see both.
About replacing a missing stone...do you have any "Bead Shops" in your area? They should have a variety of crystals, pearls, whatever you might need and could most likely be able to replace it for less than $5.00.

Every time I see those pics, I see hidden Mickeys.... I think I'm overdue for a Mickey vacation... :lmao:

We have them here too. Mom has a friend that just went to the hospital last week after being bitten. They also call them "Fiddle Backs" here because of the destinctive "fiddle" shape on the back of it's head.

brnrecluse.jpg

Yeah see they are very similar, but we just couldn't see the back.

Just think. You too can be in the UFO museum. :rotfl2:

:lmao:

Weight loss and Mike's lemonade should not be in the same house together!!:rotfl:

Yeah I'm having similar problems...

Debi no more spider pictures!!:scared1:

At least I posted a warning :lmao:

cool ...Good for you guys , at least we will have some people we know going with us ...Its just me and my DS 7 , but I think my SM and IL's are coming to watch ...

pirate:

And actually , I have to give total credit to Monica , she actually gave me the heads up ...:thumbsup2

:lmao:

C'mon, that would just be a waste of a good, pool chair-saving corpse!

Toss me overboard between CC and PC!

Seriously, I hate cemeteries. I'm going to be dumped into Cook Inlet. My family can go to the beach and think about me.

D & M will be at the Flamingo in LV Sept 9 through Oct 1st (a total of 17 shows). :goodvibes It's a shame y'all don't know if you're going to like me or not! LOL! We could make plans NOW! LOL!

What FUN!!!!!

:scared1: :scared1: I'm glad that you noticed!!!

It's Vegas...slot machines..friends..D&M..what's not to like?? :)

Andrew couldn't handle the losing aspect of team sports (striking out or doing well and having his team lose would just crush him:worried: ). That's why the Tae Kwon Do was better for him. No losing, no competition except with himself, rewards at regular intervals,

I would love to have had more kids:lovestruc I was the oldest of 5 kids and just assumed I would have at least 4. Combination of the cost and the fact that DS and DD were very high maintenance kept us to 2.

That is exactly how DS felt about team sports. And he liked golf, too. :) The funny thing is he loved to play Hockey!

If number 5 was number 1 she would probably be an only child! LOL!

Yup, I need a girls getaway:thumbsup2
Hard to arrange that with my friends and family though:confused3

We like you:hug: I just won't have any vacation time left at work after this TOAL. It will take me a while to build it back up:worried:

Have only been to Las Vegas once for my DBiL wedding back in 1997 and I was pregnant with DD at the time. I would love to go back:woohoo:

DH won't have any more time, either....... I've been to LV once... for 24dd's 21st b-day MIL & I took her to LV. We stayed at The Venetian. It was lovely. We had fun, we saw the Rita Rudner show and we went SHOPPING!!! :goodvibes

Thanks :) I forgot to mention the hat is from Tokyo Disneyland and has room for the baby's ears :lmao:

6dd wore a hat today her daddy bought her in Hong Kong Disneyland . :goodvibes

Sounds like my DS8 Nate and Claire are either going to fall in love and live happily ever after or be so much alike they won't be able to be in the same room together! :rotfl2:

Heaven help us! LOL!

That's great! I love my family, but one of my best weeks ever was a week at WDW with my 3 best friends from high school (all Disney nuts as well). I was a SAHM at the time and DSs were 1 and almost 3. I really enjoyed the break. We keep talking about doing it again!

What fun!!! DO IT!!!

Naaah, just bring along some homeschool moms to set up shop! They can teach, I can cook for all of us. It takes a village to escape from reality!.

I'm in if there is someone that is willing to do the cleaning! :rotfl: :rotfl:

Recent mini-meet at M's Yurt. A fun time was had by all!

That's not right:confused:
My DS was not a very good player and his coaches made sure he played (left field-not much action, but he got up to bat regularly). DS could have been good, but he wouldn't practice.
He is in Tae Kwon Do now and doing well. He and his sis are working towards their second dan (second degree black belt).
Maybe try a martial art:confused3

Lately baseball is getting to be such a pain in the add with all the games, it's hot, DS doesn't want to go & now the coach! I was saying to DS at dinner, "Why don't we just forget about Little league next year & try Tae Kwon Do or something?" He said he'd rather try wrestling, but he agreed that he's fed up with baseball. Don't you know tonight he hits one all the way to the fence & the coach let him pitch for the first time ever & he did so well that he let him finish the game. Guess what? DS just loves baseball! :headache:

Meant to respond to this a long time ago but finally got around to it today :) That is one great thing about where we are... It's very remote and tons of hiking trails.

IMG_5284.jpg

A better pic of the spider... We think he was a brown recluse but we were all chicken and wouldn't get any closer!
IMG_5288.jpg

Great picture of DD! What a cutie! The spider...not so much!

No more maple creme brulee?????? Hmmm I may have to cancel our upcoming reservation!!! I'm shocked.

I have a question about tiaras... Are most of you wearing real or play ones? I have three beautiful ones, but I'm afraid to travel with them because I don't want to lose them. Also, one is missing a stone. Any idea where you can buy those kinds of crystals? It is a colorful one.

I may just buy a good one that I don't have any sentimental attachment to for this kind of thing down the road!

I bought one at Claire's for appx. $10. It's not plastic, but I wouldn't say it's "real" either. ;)

1) What's the FIRST thing that comes to mind that you're looking forward to about our cruise?
going through the canal

country, classic rock, '70's

5) Right or left handed? OR.. are we ambidexterous?
right
6) Pose a QUESTION for the NEXT person to respond to this....Have you ever been to Disneyland before? If yes, how many times?
yes, too many to count! I worked there for 15 years!
6a) How often do you get room service on board?
we haven't had it too many times on our previous 2 cruises, but I plan to more often on this one!

7A)Which port are you looking forward to the most?
can't say i have one, but Cartagena is exciting just because of the political unrest (OK, so I'm a little strange!)

7B)Favorite Character:
Poohpooh:
7C) How many days will you be gone from your home for this trip?
16

7D) Knowing you only can choose ONE answer, which time do you look forward to on a vacation the most? Time with all the family, time with just your spouse, time alone, or time with others you meet on the trip?:
I don't really know - I'm looking forward to all of those. One of the great things is that in 15 days I should be able to do all that.

7E) Favorite Disney Resort?
Don't really have one, have only been to WDW 2 times since 1991
7F)How long have you been planning this TOAL?
Seriously, since May 18! But has been a dream of mine since they did the 1st Repo cruises! Still trying to believe we are actually doing this!
7G) Planning on going to Pub Night ?
Not sure, but do know I want to do more of the evening adult activities this time!

7I)How many days of school are your kids missing for this trip?
none, they start school on the 2nd
8)Favorite Disney attraction (from any park)?
Not sure if i have one, I like the Pooh ride and LOVE ToT, but wouldn't call them favorite

Is anyone else now worried about a creme brulee shortage onboard??
::yes:: ::yes:: :worried:

Was it summer? I was in Vegas, pregnant in June 1998.
DH ran something called the Mojave Death Race.

I've also been to New Orleans and Key West pregnant! Life is not fair.
It was January and very sunny and hot:confused3 I, as usual, left my sunglasses at home and had to buy a new pair:cool2:
DBiL and his bride had their wedding at the Stratosphere with an Elvis impersonator singing at their wedding. They even had some skit set up with rubber chickens and missing wedding rings. It was a memorable wedding;)
I would have had more fun if I wasn't pregnant, but I did have the summer off with maternity leave:thumbsup2

Ya know...you're not supposed to throw bottles overboard.:stir:
Noooooooo:scared1: Don't start that again:stir: :stir: :stir:
Where's Stace:rolleyes1

Here's the tiara I plan to buy. I can get the bling to match the dress I have my eye on. The decided to go with green one.:thumbsup2 Now I just hope they lower the price soon.

45ae41bb663beff86ec53a0aad857557.jpg

I hope the darn tiara will work with braids.

That'sa nice one:thumbsup2
Which color green. I got a different one with light blue crystals. I don't have my dress yet:laughing: But I have my tiara:thumbsup2

ATTENTION

Dolphin Swim in Cabo

They just opened up some 8:45 am to 10:45 am slots , I was able to change mine from the 12:30 pm slot ...

Looks like I will be spending a good portion of the day at Cabo Wabo :cool1: :cool1:

pirate:

Congrats on being able to switch! Do we have a set time that the pirates will be at Cabo Wabo?

Very cool. We lived in Kodiak for 2 years. Lots of WWIII bunkers up there. They could see Japanese ships from parts of the island. Not many people realize how close they were in the north.

Ummmmm, something we should know about?
