We have been using the cruise banner , Ts*** Logo for foor magnets ....I actually had one on my door for the Med Repo ..

pirate:

So did you make one yourself to use on that cruise? I like the banner ya'll have been using also, but haven't been looking for others. suggestions are welcome to my PM.

Honestly i'd rather it rained! LOL I know that sounds horrible but you do realize we're all gonna be in BLACK shirts in the direct sun up there, right? We coulidn't handle it for long in our GRAY double dip shirts last time... can't imagine in black with the front/back print thing that you know.. makes it harder for your body to breathe! LOL
All I'm saying is don't get upset if we say hi and bye. LOL i mean. BLACK SHIRTS! *sigh* LOL

BIP, San Pedro is usually not hot even in August. The average temperature for the area in August is in the low to mid 70's.

That would mean he'd actually have to read outside of school :rotfl: , so no he hasn't.

I'm going to try to get him back into reading this summer. He read a lot of Star Wars books last year. So I know he enjoys it, it's just a matter of finding something that cathes his interest. I'll have to check this one out.

Kingom Keepers is great. Kids have to save MK from the Disney villans. The kids also hang out and make their plans in VMK. It was great fun since we have been to WDW so many times, we could all visualize the places they were at any given time.

DD & SIL received notice form their HOA that their fence was stained and they needed to repair it.... She went out and looked at it....it looks exactly like it has since he bought the house 2 yrs ago.......it is water stained where the sprinkler hits the fence...... DD called me and asked me how she was supposed to keep water from touching the fence. ;)

Dh & I have never received anything from our HOA (rules or regulations) since we moved into this neighborhood a few months ago... I told dh that I was wanting to do something wild & crazy to see what the HOA would do since no one from the HOA has spoken to us or givien us info....... Maybe hang a GIANT flag out front...... Start parking in the street overnight.....:rotfl:

I no longer have it, but I once drafted a stunning letter to my HOA in Florida after I got a nasty-gram for not asking "them" for permission to display an American flag. Not a giant flag pole, but a porch rail mounted 3x4 flag. I'm the great granddaughter, granddaughter, and daughter of war veterans and obviously DH was active duty - I'm not going to ask anyone for permission to display a flag. I was also a SAHM with a bit of spare time and professional public relations experience. I basically told them "game on".

This was the same group that didn't mind the lady who dressed her 3 ft. goose statue in festive holiday ponchos or the older couple with lawn jockeys at the end of their driveway. I guess they asked for permission.
I hate HOAs.

Will you be posting the documents to a hosting site or emailing to everyone? I was thinking I could include the Who's Doing What list for anyone that wanted to print it.

Barring major technical difficulties, they will be on The Pirate Zone.

Put a couch on your front lawn!

With a giant spool end table!

So....what are you going to hang from your windows on Groundhog Day next year?

Groundhog carcass.

And twinkle lights.

Just a drive by rant. Drove to DHs dr for 10:30 appt. Oops, we forgot to put him in the "system". Could you come back say around 12:30. and maybe youcould have an early lunch? Yup at 10:30 right after Breakfast. We came home. It's only 25 min. So now getting ready for the 2nd trip. This office is usually behind. Great. At least nothing planned today. Done. sorry.

I haven't worked on door magnets yet, heck never done one, but I have started saving pictures that I like as I see them. If you would like any of them I can post them or email them to you

Please post them here, Jo, so that we can pirate: them if we'd like!

Trust me, as I sit and watch him sometimes.. he is still a mystery to me...

That's it, then -- he will always be "Mysterious Marty" to me . . .;)

DH is a member of the board here and boy do they BS about absolutely nothing. We get specail assessments each year due to the insurance. But on the whole they are really good. Our President took it upon himself to do the landscaping as the company we used were pretty bad. So his wife works for Lowes and he, Publix and when they clear any plants he grabs them and plants them around. What a difference it made in the last 3 yrs. He found a young man who wons a landscaping co and hired him and he is here most of the week. He is so much less $ than the other companies. Sometimes it works out. It has to do really with who is on the board. If they are thinking they ar mightier than thou watch out. That's what we had yrs ago. Well gotta run back to the DRs.

I sure hope it doesn't rain! I am hoping for a nice sunny day so we can enjoy the sailaway party. :goodvibes

I think some people mentioned they were just ordering the white shirts and wearing them for sail away and PC day. Why don't you just do that?
they are? I thought I was the only one opposing black shirts on embarkation day? :scared1:
Well that's good info to know before ordering shirts. hmmmm

I was just about to link, but I see you found it.

Right under the T-Shirts, Wristbands, and other Appearal section
yes I did find it. thanks though. I don't know why I couldn't find it before. LOL

Oh me too....no rain....my one and only DCL sailing party was in the Med last year and it was rained out. Just wasn't the same piled up in the Atrium waving our Mickey hands.
In the atrium? a little rain never hurt anyone. I'd be standing out there in the rain! hehe

If no one has offered to make magnets for rooms maybe I could do that if ya'll tell me what kind you are thinking of :)
I am so NOT crafty but this is one thing I'm doing on my own. I found magnetic paper in various sizes at the DOLLAR store- yes that's right- each package only a DOLLAH! I got mickey in various colors from Home Depot (paint dept) hehe I'll probably print some pictures, our logo, etc and wham bam slam it on the magnet that is sticky on one side and whamo- i'm done! LOL That's about the extend of my "craftiness". hehe

I just joined about 2 weeks ago when we were able to get a stateroom!

Our homeowners association is stupid too. One of the townhouse units got flooded out because the neighboring hotel didn't drain properly and instead, drained into that townhouse. The association decided that every unit had to pay $2000 extra to make up for it. WHA? Why wasn't the hotel held responsible for it? Didn't the homeowner and association have insurance to cover it anyway? I suspect the association charged us and kept the insurance money. They also raise fees every year to cover costs, but we have seen the landscaping company turn the sprinklers on on Friday and off Monday. In the future, we'll do everything possible to avoid an association!
I hate HOA's and I"ve never even lived with one! Our new home (well it's not so new anymore... lived here a year and a half now!) has restrictions but there isn't an HOA, no HOA fees/etc. and the restrictions are very livable (basically things like no chain link fences- only privacy fences, no vehicles over 2 tons parked in the driveways or in front of the houses- which only keeps truckers from parking their rigs at home- which probably wouldn't happen here anyway but we HAVE lived nextdoor to a trucker in the past and had a rig next to our home quite a lot of the time LOL stuff like that- stuff that doesn't bother me LOL) I totally asked one of the first things that I asked -is there an HOA here- and if there had been... we wouldn't have bought this home!

Really?
wow
Is it like that at Disneyland too? Just curious. I mean it's close so I'm hoping you'll say the weather is the same? That would be totally awesome. I was fearing a flashback to how it was when I took the kids (without DH then also) to WKW in June a few years ago. the heat was almost unbearable (but somehow you get thru it since you're at WKW LOL) That would be awesome to have that kind of weather on this trip that is also me and kids alone until DH gets there Saturday!

buckifan, did joel tell you that our DD7 has drawn two pics she wants mailed to your kids? That cracks me up! She now wants to know if she can take her 5 drawing books with us in case everyone wants to draw:lmao: :lmao:

Is there anyway you could post a listing of who ordered? I am always paranoid that when I send a PM it really does not get there.
Thanks so much for taking this on. I would be more than happy to front 1/2 the cost of the whole thing if you want. Seems like you are taking a lot on yourself.
QUOTE]

I will do that..Thanks for the thought - I know I always get paranoid if my PM went thru. Also..thanks for the offer on fronting some of it. I appreciate it but it's not necessary - very sweet of you tho! :flower3:

I was going to make some for the door too for the kids and such; I have one of those little machines which lets you put magnet paper, sticker paper, or laminate it in and roll whatever pic you want into it and POOF....makes life easier to be "crafty" :)

I was going to say I am trying out for the fat lady at a circus. ;) I just thought I would wear layers of clother but it is hot in California in August.

I s the one in Arba that I am not taking!!!:rolleyes1

No not Scoops but on deck ten Above Scoops.

It would be way to crowed there!!! I meant to go up the stairs from scoops and meet on deck 10. Not meaning to shout but this needed attention.:)

Sorry..it was 1 in the morning and I wasn't thinking..thanks!

How cute!! And she is VERY talented! I am going to tell the kids about that...they'll get a big kick out of it.

I'll be packing drawing pads for the kids in their backpacks they will carry on the plane. Kylie will draw *some*, but Drew would NOT survive for 17 days without drawing. It is like nurishment to him, he has to draw everyday. On our last cruise he sat up on deck with his drawing pad several times and entertained himself all afternoon.

oh that won't be enough if I don't mail them to the kids....I'm hoping Joel has your home addr in his email :thumbsup2

If he doesn't still have it, let me know. We will look forward to receiving them! :)

I'm catching up so you know what that means....

WHEW!!!! Now that I think I have really found the end of this thread...
We are going on the cruise as of today!!!!
There will be my DH, Me, and our DDs ages 17, 15, 12 & 8.
I am going to try to catch up to speed on some of the important things that have deadlines.
Anyone have an abreviated list? Like t-shirt orders, exscursions and such?

Woohoo! Welcome!!! :flower3:

:grouphug:

:) :) Glad I could help

I hope your loved ones receive the good news also:hug: . And, I agree with you whole heartedly...keep it happy, keep it simple

Ahhh, yes - rum punch & we'll fire up the chimnea and burn a few hats...what say you pirate:?

Sounds like a plan to me! :thumbsup2 Burn baby burn!!!

Hey, that lady in the glass looks *JUST* like me. Well, without the blonde hair :rotfl: :rotfl:

The spittin' image! :goodvibes

Awww, Cheryl  Yes, a figure I heard recently is that approx 40% of women diagnosed with BC have no history of it in the family

:disrocks: :thanks: :thanks: :thanks::disrocks:

I was told the special night was the BALLROOM UNDER THE STARS on the night before CASTAWAY CAY... Also, when asked what it was.. she said you pull out all the stops for a grandballroom attire..:confused3

allshookup... thank you for the BDAY greeting to my DH MARTY...:cake:

He is very welcome! :thumbsup2

Well, I had a very exciting afternoon. My son and his school were taken to our CITY HALL and the Mayor gave a proclamation to them re: their Mock Trail Championship of our REGION. They came in 3rd place this weekend. Over 600 schools and over 8500 students competed... It makes a mom so proud... Then we were on the news as well. I got 4 phone calls in a row.. Like my family didnt know I was there as well...lol

Congrats to DS! You should be proud! :cool1:

Welcome to all the new pirates and familes... Its tough to catch up.. but just go to the first page for a quick recap..

Thanks, MrsScooby. I got a quote of $96 at the Sunrise Hotel. Anyone heard of it?

I checked trip advisor & if it's the Best Western Sunrise Hotel, they do offer a shuttle to the port, but it gets mixed reviews.

Here's the link:

Excellent post..although, I am having a little trouble with #5 lately

Finally, a wench...Congrats!!!

Well of course I had to go back & read what #5 was. We were out of debt (other than the mortgage) for a few years & now we've managed to let our credit cards creep right back up again! :scared:

I have larger ones ....gimmie a little time and I will post them here and hopefully tom can post on PIrate zone

pirate:

I figured you did.

Hey, I'm having trouble finding any good pictures of Ragetti. Any ideas? His costume was in the Gallery in DL for a while. I've got 1 pic of it. Now I wish I had taken some better ones.
