I'm still amazed. It can be over 50 pages easily in a day sometimes, especially with the pirate runs. My DW wants to try to jump in, but is overwhelmed right now.

Happy belated birthday as well and thanks to everyone on the birthday wishes! Not sure about a mid-life crisis, but I'm glad we're doing this TOAL! We almost backed out a few months ago due to cost, but I'm glad we're going through with it as you only live once!!!

Tell her to jump in; I just did this week after my DH has been on for like 16 months and so I'm learning too. she can talk to me! I'd be happy to have another newbie to learn with :)

Hi!
Is there a big "Pirates Panama Canal" Logo to use for door magnets? :confused3
Like the ones in the sigs.
Has anyone made a door magnet logo for this cruise yet?
We just signed on for the trip and I have not found a lot of things yet! :rotfl:
Thanks

I was just thinking about Door Magnets yesterday! I don't think anyone has mde one for this cruise -- if they have, I've missed it! LOL!!

I don't know how to do that sort of thing -- that;s why I have children & a dh! ;)

Nate is going to love his cakes when he sees them tonight! :)

Well if it is buttercream, then they should have used the chocolate covered bacon.

Good Luck! You're a brave soul. I've served on several boards - 3 non-profit human service organizations, chamber of commerce, convention and vistors bureau, Cub Scout pack committee, etc., and I work directly for a board, but no way in H-E-double-hockey-sticks will I go near any of these three: youth sports, home owners associations, or PTA/school boards.

I agree with you though - it's much better to jump in and try to change things than it is to complain. This is how DH and I ended up sharing the Committee Chair job for our highly disfuntional Cub Scout pack next year.

Pamela is also working on the navigator.

I wasn't planning to go so far as to include individual names. That's a lot of work piled onto a lot of work + things change & someone would be inadvertantly left out & hate Pamela & I forever. If someone wants to take this on, more power to you & I'd be happy to attach it to the file, but it's more than I can handle. Since the navigator will be available to print more than 2 weeks before we cruise, I would suggest you print it early and highlight the things you are interested in or signed up for, like many of us do with the DCL Navigators.

I'm planning to design 2 navigators:

1. A big, 8.5x11, many pages Navigator including:

Onboard activities with times, places, contact person & cabin ## door to check for updates once we board. Arranged by date.

Pirate Excursions - things like Zip-line & Aruba snorkeling. Basically non-DCL excursions that were organized on the thread.

Fish Extender - participants with cabin numbers

2. I am also planning to do a mini-navigator that you can fold up and put in a backpack, camera bag etc. This will only have the activity names, times & locations arranged by date. I'm not sure what the format will be until I have all the information - I'm going for small, so bring your reading glasses.

3. Drink of the Day Passport - I'm designing a 4x6 for each day to note the Drink of the Day, where you had it, who you were with, and your bartender. I wanted to make a booklet, but the some-assembly-required part is hangin' me up since everyone who wants one will have to print it themselves. If you print it you can use these for scrapbooking or put them in a photo album. I plan to buy a cheap 4x6 photo album and and stick the passport page in one pocket and my photo w/ friends & bartender in the other pocket when I get home.

4. Kid's Cruise Journal...lots and lots of people are working on pages and sending their ideas. I will design the pages so there is some uniformity.

All will be available in .pdf form for you to print.

Will you be posting the documents to a hosting site or emailing to everyone? I was thinking I could include the Who's Doing What list for anyone that wanted to print it.

Speaking of Who's Doing What.....if you'd like to have your activities included on a master list of what the pirates are doing you can post your information here. It's located on the Pirate Zone discussion boards, under Intinerary/Changes.

For the group tastings, once we get our times assigned by DCL, I will be posting a master list with the date, time, and names of those signed up. I will also include the information in the Who's Doing What list.

Honestly i'd rather it rained! LOL I know that sounds horrible but you do realize we're all gonna be in BLACK shirts in the direct sun up there, right? We coulidn't handle it for long in our GRAY double dip shirts last time... can't imagine in black with the front/back print thing that you know.. makes it harder for your body to breathe! LOL
All I'm saying is don't get upset if we say hi and bye. LOL i mean. BLACK SHIRTS! *sigh* LOL

I sure hope it doesn't rain! I am hoping for a nice sunny day so we can enjoy the sailaway party. :goodvibes

I think some people mentioned they were just ordering the white shirts and wearing them for sail away and PC day. Why don't you just do that?

DD & SIL received notice form their HOA that their fence was stained and they needed to repair it.... She went out and looked at it....it looks exactly like it has since he bought the house 2 yrs ago.......it is water stained where the sprinkler hits the fence...... DD called me and asked me how she was supposed to keep water from touching the fence. ;)

Dh & I have never received anything from our HOA (rules or regulations) since we moved into this neighborhood a few months ago... I told dh that I was wanting to do something wild & crazy to see what the HOA would do since no one from the HOA has spoken to us or givien us info....... Maybe hang a GIANT flag out front...... Start parking in the street overnight.....:rotfl:

Our HOA just passed new rules (over my strong objections) about 'holiday' decorations. Other than Christmas, they said you cannot have holiday decorations up for more than one week prior and two days after the holiday. (For Christmas, it is from Thanksgiving until March, though).

I argued that they were not being clear but they insisted it made sense.

So, my American Flag is going up this weekend and staying up. I want to see if they call it a "holiday" decoration.

Come September, my Halloween decorations will go up September 15. Corn stalks, pumpkins and lights. I want to see if they complain, because I don't decorate for Halloween -- I decorate for Autumn and that runs from September until December. (This is what I was trying to explain to them -- they didn't define 'holiday'. IF I wanted to, I could find a holiday every week and claim that is what I have my lights on for -- they are usually only white fairy lights, so those can be used for ANY holiday).

They also complain about people's grass being too high, but they haven't come to cut the parkway grass in a month. I should send a letter to the management company fining them for this.

Put a couch on your front lawn!

Logos can be found on one of our websites
The largest one prints about 6 in x 3 in. I don't know if we have any larger ones.

Thanks for doing this, it'll be invaluable in trying to keep track of what this Crew is doing

Oh me too....no rain....my one and only DCL sailing party was in the Med last year and it was rained out. Just wasn't the same piled up in the Atrium waving our Mickey hands.

If no one has offered to make magnets for rooms maybe I could do that if ya'll tell me what kind you are thinking of :)

Our flag stays up all Summer. That would be rediculous if they asked you to take yours down after this weekend.

So....what are you going to hang from your windows on Groundhog Day next year?

I haven't worked on door magnets yet, heck never done one, but I have started saving pictures that I like as I see them. If you would like any of them I can post them or email them to you

We have been using the cruise banner , Ts*** Logo for foor magnets ....I actually had one on my door for the Med Repo ..

pirate:

I got it, too, Monica -- I also thought it was better than the repo mailing -- what's up with that????:sad2:

"Marty" just doesn't sound as mysterious as I had made him out to be!:rotfl: :rotfl:

Trust me, as I sit and watch him sometimes.. he is still a mystery to me...

I just joined about 2 weeks ago when we were able to get a stateroom!

Our homeowners association is stupid too. One of the townhouse units got flooded out because the neighboring hotel didn't drain properly and instead, drained into that townhouse. The association decided that every unit had to pay $2000 extra to make up for it. WHA? Why wasn't the hotel held responsible for it? Didn't the homeowner and association have insurance to cover it anyway? I suspect the association charged us and kept the insurance money. They also raise fees every year to cover costs, but we have seen the landscaping company turn the sprinklers on on Friday and off Monday. In the future, we'll do everything possible to avoid an association!

Todd.....I seem to recall you posted something on our original thread that was much larger than what I have found on the pirate zone website. Do you have an image of the banner that would fill an 8.5x11 sheet of paper?

If it's on the pirate zone website....then I guess I am missing it.:confused3

TIA!
