Nate is going to love his cakes when he sees them tonight! :)

Please tell me this is a mashed potato cake! Come to think of it, bacon and buttercream would be reason enough to STAY on Weight Watchers I could use the motivation!

Happy Birthday!

Well if it is buttercream, then they should have used the chocolate covered bacon.

We are having a block party on Sunday. I am going to start my campaign to get votes for board of director position for our neighborhood association.

I really want this because we need change and instead of complaining I am going to do something about it.

Wish me luck ! One thing I have on my side is I started the neighborhood watch.

Good Luck! You're a brave soul. I've served on several boards - 3 non-profit human service organizations, chamber of commerce, convention and vistors bureau, Cub Scout pack committee, etc., and I work directly for a board, but no way in H-E-double-hockey-sticks will I go near any of these three: youth sports, home owners associations, or PTA/school boards.

I agree with you though - it's much better to jump in and try to change things than it is to complain. This is how DH and I ended up sharing the Committee Chair job for our highly disfuntional Cub Scout pack next year.

Or maybe we can have a master list say a month before the cruise so see what everyone is signed up for so that we don't forget when we get onboard or will this be in the in the pirate: navigator that M is putting together

Pamela is also working on the navigator.

I wasn't planning to go so far as to include individual names. That's a lot of work piled onto a lot of work + things change & someone would be inadvertantly left out & hate Pamela & I forever. If someone wants to take this on, more power to you & I'd be happy to attach it to the file, but it's more than I can handle. Since the navigator will be available to print more than 2 weeks before we cruise, I would suggest you print it early and highlight the things you are interested in or signed up for, like many of us do with the DCL Navigators.

I'm planning to design 2 navigators:

1. A big, 8.5x11, many pages Navigator including:

Onboard activities with times, places, contact person & cabin ## door to check for updates once we board. Arranged by date.

Pirate Excursions - things like Zip-line & Aruba snorkeling. Basically non-DCL excursions that were organized on the thread.

Fish Extender - participants with cabin numbers

2. I am also planning to do a mini-navigator that you can fold up and put in a backpack, camera bag etc. This will only have the activity names, times & locations arranged by date. I'm not sure what the format will be until I have all the information - I'm going for small, so bring your reading glasses.

3. Drink of the Day Passport - I'm designing a 4x6 for each day to note the Drink of the Day, where you had it, who you were with, and your bartender. I wanted to make a booklet, but the some-assembly-required part is hangin' me up since everyone who wants one will have to print it themselves. If you print it you can use these for scrapbooking or put them in a photo album. I plan to buy a cheap 4x6 photo album and and stick the passport page in one pocket and my photo w/ friends & bartender in the other pocket when I get home.

4. Kid's Cruise Journal...lots and lots of people are working on pages and sending their ideas. I will design the pages so there is some uniformity.

All will be available in .pdf form for you to print.

Good Morning everyone! Hope everyone is doing well.

Wristband Alert!
Just a reminder!
If you haven't posted on the poll for ordering the wristbands, please go to http://www.thepiratezone.us/index.php and do so. Thanks to tom31b there is also detailed info on sizes, colors and prices. My count so far is 175. I know we have new pirates who might be interested, so come and vote. They come in adult and child sizes. Looking for a order count to figure out the pricing.

For those of you who have taken the poll, thank you and I have a count of everyone thru page 5!

Now I must return to the huge stack of papers on my desk, before I drown in them! :lmao:

Happy birthday Nate!

Has he read "Kingdom Keepers"?

Great Book! My kids loved it. It was our bedtime read aloud book a few months ago. We just finished the 2nd Narnia...I won't let my kids see movies based on books until we read the book either!

Anyone else find themselves reading this in their best pirate voice??? :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

...as was the intent. pirate:

LOL
That's what I was thinking- that there can't be enough room for all of us AT scoops. :scared1:
I know that's the best place to meet to have the most room but man I remember how SHORT our visit there was with the group on our double dip cruise because man it was hot up there in the sun. LOL

I would not mind the heat as much as I would if it rained!!!;)

Good Morning everyone! Hope everyone is doing well.

I just wanted to mention that if everyone ordered double what they really need it would cost the same price!!! The price drops to half if 5oo are ordered!! Just an observation that I made. Instead of a dollar a piece...it would be fifty cents apiece!!

This will make the whole Toal complete!! Thanks for doing this friends!!

Leaving to see Indiana Jones soon!!! So I will be quiet for hours now!!!;) ;)

Hi!
Is there a big "Pirates Panama Canal" Logo to use for door magnets? :confused3
Like the ones in the sigs.
Has anyone made a door magnet logo for this cruise yet?
We just signed on for the trip and I have not found a lot of things yet! :rotfl:
Thanks

Honestly i'd rather it rained! LOL I know that sounds horrible but you do realize we're all gonna be in BLACK shirts in the direct sun up there, right? We coulidn't handle it for long in our GRAY double dip shirts last time... can't imagine in black with the front/back print thing that you know.. makes it harder for your body to breathe! LOL
All I'm saying is don't get upset if we say hi and bye. LOL i mean. BLACK SHIRTS! *sigh* LOL

Has he read "Kingdom Keepers"?

That would mean he'd actually have to read outside of school :rotfl: , so no he hasn't.

I'm going to try to get him back into reading this summer. He read a lot of Star Wars books last year. So I know he enjoys it, it's just a matter of finding something that cathes his interest. I'll have to check this one out.

Yep- most IT people are not the best people persons. I was very surprised when Bill decided he wanted to do this.
On the yard issues: We have received multiple awards for our landscaping and yesterday we received a note our yard was unsightly. :confused3 Our yard is great! Our management company is a little odd.

DD & SIL received notice form their HOA that their fence was stained and they needed to repair it.... She went out and looked at it....it looks exactly like it has since he bought the house 2 yrs ago.......it is water stained where the sprinkler hits the fence...... DD called me and asked me how she was supposed to keep water from touching the fence. ;)

Dh & I have never received anything from our HOA (rules or regulations) since we moved into this neighborhood a few months ago... I told dh that I was wanting to do something wild & crazy to see what the HOA would do since no one from the HOA has spoken to us or givien us info....... Maybe hang a GIANT flag out front...... Start parking in the street overnight.....:rotfl:
