I just got this email from our church.

We are offering an Easter service on Saturday evening, March 22 at 5 p.m. in the Sanctuary. It is identical to the Easter morning services. We encourage you to attend Saturday evening to help make space for all the visitors on Easter morning. We celebrate Easter morning with three identical services in the Sanctuary. Each service will include the choir, orchestra and the Reign Band. Or you may choose to worship in the relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere of the Ministry Center. This laid-back setup includes tables and chairs and snacks to occupy the little ones. The service will be video simulcast from the Sanctuary.

If possible, please attend the 5 p.m. Saturday or 8 a.m. Sunday services, allowing space for guests at the later services.

Don't forget to park at Marcus!

Now, this set wrong with me. I am all for encouraging visitors but to tell you devoted (and consistently contributing) members to come to the Easter service on Sat pm to make room for visitors I think is tacky. Also, you members should not park in the church parking lot but instead park in the high school a couple blocks away. :confused3
Nothing says Easter like dressing up in your finest and going to church- on Saturday evening!!! :sad2:
Although it would be significantly less hectic on Sunday am (we still do the ole Easter Egg hunt) and we would have a better time trying to find a table at our brunch place- it still is not appealling.
We are going to be rebels and go at our regular time and sit in the same pew we have for that last 11 years.

My Mom (age 82) lives with us, so I know where you are coming from. We had to move to a ranch style home (from a tri-level) because she can no longer handle the steps. She has severe arthiritis and moves very slow. I worry about her being home all day by herself, but other than the arthiritis she seems to be pretty healthy. She still does the laundry and helps me clean the house. It is tough some times, but she has lived with me for over 15 years now and I wouldn't have it any other day.

My paternal grandpa has lived with my folks for the last 15 years - he's lived in "my" room longer than I did! My mom was going to take care of him, but she went first. 10 years ago, my dad's household consisted of 4 men - ages 77, 51, 20 & 15...and 7 televisions! Down to 3 men now - 87, 61 & 25. Baby brother hasn't left because it really isn't like living at 'home' or with your parents, it's like living with housemates. Luckily g-pa, now 87 doesn't really need anyone to take care of him, he's still totally independent, and likely to outlive us all.

I always wonder what will happen when our folks need help. My dad always asks what "his" room looks like when we move into a new house. :) My youngest brother has a huge sense of duty & I'm sure will be the primary for my dad. He and my Dad have a good thing going, baby brother was the only kid at home full time when Mom died and they looked after eachother. My in-laws on the other hand will be more of a challenge, BIL & SIL are local, but I doubt will take them on & we will be far far away.

no child left behind, all children mediocre

....Just another reason to stay involved and get to know the administration and teachers in order to provide your children with the best opportunity. Our "5 star" school district just had to cut their budget by another $4.9 million due to revenue shortfall and we live in a growing school district. I guess that's why they're adding trailers vs building on next to the school to accomodate the growth in the area.

....Just another reason to stay involved and get to know the administration and best teachers to give your children the best opportunity.

Problem is, by the time we have it figured out, we move to a new district!

Morning everyone! Happy Good Friday! Only 1 hour and 45 minutes and I'm out of here. Not that I counting!:rolleyes1 i haven't worked 1/2 day on Good Friday in 8 yrs! Real quiet, just me and another co-worker in our cubical farm today.

I do like sand M.....but just not the ocean!!! I will nominate myself to watch out for flying stingrays by the adult pool from the bar stool.!!!:lmao: :lmao:

See above post how I volunteer to help everyone out!!!:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

It made our local news yesterday. Why are Michiganders always involved in weird stuff? She was from near Caseville in the thumb. I'll bring my binoculars, least I can do for our lookout!:sail:

We are waiting for the stinkin s*** to fall again.:headache: We are getting 6 to 8 inches starting in a few hours!!! This is the never ending winter!!!:scared:

I don't want any stinkin s*** either! From what our weather people are saying, we are due to get 3-5". And of course I'ii be driving into it as we go down to Sandusky this afternoon!

I agree with you, it is tacky. I would think the people who are regulars would matter most, not the holiday crowd. Have fun in your Easter best!

It is better to have :cake: and lost, than to never have :cake: at all.

Good Morning everyone -
and a happy SPRING Friday to everyone!

We're running out the door this morning now...

Sort of an impromptu sprint to go skiing
(gotta use some of those "FREE" skiing for Vitamin Water LIFT TICKET coupons we got!)

Julianna has a girlfriend coming and it looks like fine weather for it!

TTFN!

You go girl! pirate:

And I thought I was lost with the pirate: , now this :cake:???

You can't be lost...you're a pirate! pirate: I'll try to offer a little insight:

The pirate smiley is just because we're all pirates here & if someone does or says something piratey it's a good time to add a pirate smiley! pirate:

The cake thing came about because in chat someone would mention how they were having cake & someone else would answer "I like cake". It was just the running joke. So cakes started popping up here in sayings, birthday wishes, etc. :cake:

I don't know if you know about the groundhog, but if someone mentions or asks something that's been discussed many times before, someone might post a groundhog. Not that we're making fun of anyone, because we gladly answer the same questions & it shouldn't stop anyone. Just like the GTY discussion....GROUNDHOG ALERT! ;)

When this thread was new & we hadn't even booked the cruise yet, there was much speculation about how much this TOAL was going to cost us. I even added to the mix! It's funny now when I think back, because well I was off by a few K! Anyway that's when the groundhog first appeared.

When I booked the 2005 repo I was very worried about the price and instructed at Cat 10, working on the principle it would be at least double the 7 night, when the price came out so cheap I quickly asked for an upgrade to Cat 4, got a GTY at 'first day prices'.

When booking this one I went straight for the Cat 4 and was happy with the price albeit increased since 2005, My Cat 3 for 2009, for seven nights, is just $1k under the 15 night Panama cruise,:scared1:

But as the $/£ continues to be strong, I have paid off about 65% of 2009 now, so its less to worry about if exchange rates change, its unlikely now as our interest rates are at 5.25%, way above USA rates.

How's the thesis coming, Diane??

We often tease my Mom that we are going to send her off to Shady Pines (from Golden Girls) if she doesn't get her work done. I have a sister in town and one in FL, but I know she wouldn't live with either of them. She visits Sis in FL for a couple of weeks in the winter, but is always ready to come home. And the sis in the area...we won't even go there. Her husband is shall we say a pretty shady character.:hippie: :rolleyes1

There are times I would love to have the house to ourselves, but when she is at my sister's I miss her. We always say we make a good pair because I cook and she cleans.:laundy: Plus I will have a build in cat sitter while we are on the cruise. :lmao: I always have my girls check on her when we are on vacation. And occasionally my local sister might call.

Thanks for helping me be the official watch out for flying stingray detail.:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

We are getting hit with lots of stinkin s***right now. They are calling this "heart attack snow" because it has so much moisture and is very heavy!!:headache:

I like the ocean too....I just like to sit on the sand & look at it! ;)

Okay that makes three of us sitting at the bar looking for flying stingray!!;):cool1: I do really feel bad for the person but what a strange thing to happen!!:rolleyes1

That was sweet to explain what all the inside jokes meant.:cool1: :cool1: Maybe we need a dictionary posted on the front page to explain to the newbies who are always welcome to join or ask questions.:goodvibes :flower3: :grouphug:

Well this just takes the :cake: ;)
How bad is my luck that I started having huge Spring allergy attacks the same time I am going to have stitches on my nose. :scared1:
I have been blowing my nose like crazy today.
Sure going to make an interesting next week! :guilty:

I know I shouldn't complain after all because I just priced out a 7 nt NCL Bermuda cruise out of Boston for summer 2009 & since they don't have balconies for 4 I looked at a balcony & inside & it was $7100!!! That's only about 2k less than what I'm paying for the 15nt TOAL!!! :scared:

Well funny you should ask M! I was going to hold of mentioning this till I really was complete, but I've worked on it diligently for the last 2 days. I actually contacted a professor who agreed to be my "reader" which means he'll grade it etc. & he is waiting for it as we speak. I plan on giving the kids lunch & then getting to it. I will most likely send everything but the conclusion since that is still a work in progress, but I am adding a little bit here & there before I send the intro & body.

The other day I went to the local Community College I attended to have my transcripts sent to the University so I can apply for graduation next week. I have until April 1st! I work great under pressure!

Probably much more than you wanted to know, but I'm so proud of myself this week!

Good one! :lmao:
Wow- were you stitches supposed to fall out on their own?
I am going to unconsciously scratch my nose a couple of times before I realize that is not a good idea.
How long until you could put makeup on your face? I am guessing it is going to be a couple of weeks.
