Your PAT groups start at 11am like my cruises. The OP would have been on a cruise where the PAT groups would have started at 1pm. That is why when they arrived 30 mins before the earliest arrival there might have been issue.

I can't say for certain but just wanted to call this out it would be like showing up at 10:30am when you go.
 
I've said this before and I'll say it again. Unless DCL is lowering the price (they aren't) they need to have everything open. No half measures or stripped down versions of things. As far as disembarking at CC, I will be furious if I cannot get off when I want to. I want as much time as possible at CC and if I'm delayed getting off because of technical difficulties I'm going to be really mad.

Sounds like you need to not cruise for some period of time. It's naive to think that the cruise industry is going to restart under exactly the same conditions that existed immediately before the pandemic. If you decide that the value isn't there then cancel.

Agree!!

Also, even in pre-COVID times there could be times when docking at Castaway could be delayed or even missed. So yes, as much as we love Castaway, there ARE times when docking there just can't happen or is delayed.

Were you able to just stop in and grab drinks then? So the drinks to the room were more so for those lounging. Also could you get drinks to the sundeck delivered?
Yes, bar was open in lounge, hours I'm not sure of, but was always open when I went by. Drinks could be delivered on the sun deck.
 
How do you suggest avoiding that scenario now that up have experienced it?
As things keep changing it may be different by the time you sail, but as of now make sure to show up no earlier than your time. Hopefully the port workers handling luggage have more experience by then. After dropping off luggage there is a Disney Cast member in the road directing you to the garage, make sure he puts a blue paper ticket on your windshield before sending you to the garage. You can only access terminal from deck 3 of garage. Not much could be done about the test result wait time, except maybe leave the kids at home😉
 
I have to admit, I was surprised by your last sentence! I'm glad you had a good time, despite the snafus. However, what you described does not sound at all worth the Disney price to me, to be honest. I'm really hoping things get back to something far closer to normal by next summer.

My question was specifically for concierge, who does not have a time. I am concerned we will be turned away and we will be meeting up with friends who will be arriving on the first bus out of MCO (also concierge). We will be getting an Uber to the port, so will get dropped off.
