7year old boy, What to do?

First, can I just say how nice it is of you to think of something special for his little boy? That's really thoughtful.

Most boys that age love Star Wars. If you take him to Hollywood Studios, he can take part in the Jedi Training academy. Get there early for a good chance to get picked--it also doesn't hurt to have a SW t-shirt on. I'm not so sure about adding on extra things like pirate cruises--there is so much to do that he will be more than occupied. Seven is such a wonderful time to take a kid to Disney. They're still in awe of everything and thier enthusiasm is contagious.

Another thought, and this is more for your dad and his girlfriend, is to offer to watch the little boy while they go out for a dinner alone. You two could plan a special night as well, maybe in the park or at the pool. I would think I'd died and gone to heaven if someone offered that to me.

Have a great time!

Nephew loved the Haunted Mansion when he was seven. We did it on our first day. On our second day in the Magic Kingdom, he insisted on doing that again, first thing. He wouldn't hear of doing anything else until he had done that again.

Believe it or not, my 7 yo DS loves It's a Small World!

Definitely Toy Story Mania, Indiana Jones and Star Tours, Jedi Training Academy. Also, pick up a schedule at DHS, the Power Rangers make pretty regular appearances where they will take pics with the kids.

The kidcots are a lot of fun for the kids. There is also a booth inside the Mexico building at Epcot where you can send a video postcard from "Mexico" which he gets a kick out of seeing when he gets home.

Be sure to get in some pool time too.

My DS would not ride in the stroller at all...he kept saying it was for babies, and nap was completely out of the question. He also liked riding in the front of the monorail, and at the monorail stations, the CM's have trading cards that are monorail themed.

If you can catch the Electric Water Pageant that is fun too from the beach at Ft Wilderness. Also, Chip N Dale's Campfire Sing a Long is fun. You can find info about that over on the camping board. Some of the DVC resorts have movies either on the beach or at the pool that are free. I'm not sure if the non-DVC properties offer the movies.

DS also liked Ohana for a character breakfast, and also Garden Grill at Epcot with Chip N Dale

Toy Story Mania, Star Tours, the Lights, Action Show - Hollywood Studios always is great for this age. At Magic Kingdom, my 7 yo loves the Thunder Mountain Railroad and the Goofy Roller coaster.

Hope this helps! That ages loves just about anything! (or at least my son does!!)

So much to choose from!!! Here are a few of my personal "can't miss":

MK: Splash Mountain, Big Thunder, Haunted Mansion, Speedway, Pirates
AK: Everest, Kali River Rapids, Kilimanjaro Safari
DHS: Toy Story Mania, Tower of Terror
EP: Soarin', Spaceship Earth, exploring World Showcase

Does he know you're going? Ask what he'd like to do!

Don't forget to take your time. At 7, he should be able to hang without a midafternoon break if you guys take it slow. When you get caught up in the rush of it all is when the breakdowns tend to happen.

Make sure to hit up some of the indoor attractions: Innoventions, Tiki Room, Country Bear Jamboree (yes, I know some people think the last 2 are lame, but they are air conditioned and you're forced to sit for at least 10 minutes...).

Character lunches/dinners in the parks are good if you can get them. If he needs a break from the chaos, hit up one of the playgrounds: Pooh's playful spot, donald's boat, Honey I shrunk the Kids playground.

Use him as a guide. If he's wearing out... find something that is slower paced - ride the train ALL the way around MK (20 minute trip). Go out to the Conservation Station at AK and hit up the affection section.

Hit up all the big stuff, but try to plan for some of the slower things as well and you should have a great trip! This last trip, I was forced to slow down because we took our young kids and I was amazed at how much more I enjoyed WDW than before.

I have to agree with the PP about how nice it is for you to take the time to ask about what he might like.:thumbsup2 Could you get together with him prior to the trip and talk to him about some ideas? Maybe go to utube and show him some videos or go to WDW website.

There are so many things to do the PP's have given you lots of good ideas. I think Chef Mickey's is a great character dining experience. You might want to call for reservations though if your trip is only two weeks away!

Did anyone mention or can anyone confirm, but I think Star Wars weekends are going on then at DHS.

Has it been that long since I asked him to get me that autograph? He blushed the other day when I brought it up.

I haven't actually meet him yet but my father has told me a little bit about him. I will definatly have to talk to his mom and try and get my father to show him videos and find out what he is most excited about ect.
We are going to be there on a Star Wars weekend and have plans to go to DHS on Sunday because he likes Star Wars alot (and so does my father). I like doing little kid things (like I said I'm only 20 years young). Truth be told I have never ridden the tea cups and can't remember riding dumbo.
The playgrounds and long rides/shows are a good idea for breaks if we don't want to head back to the room.
I think we're going to go to all 4 parks (one day at a time) and then let him decide where we go the last day (or thats the plan I have in my head). I have already bought trader pins for him and myself. I may have to give dad and his gf some out time one day.... that would be nice of me.
It should be pretty crowded and hot and me and my father normally move quickly so we will definatly have to slow down or everyone (me included) will have a temper tantrum:sad2:

The other thing my nephew liked when he was 7 was riding in the front of the monorail with the driver. There was a bird on the rail, and it didn't seem inclined to move as the train approached. We all thought the train was going to run over the bird. It didn't, but my nephew was fascinated. He talked about it years later.

I believe 4 people are allowed to ride with the driver.
