We were unable to get FP for this ride but we want to ride, at least once. Is there any way to ride without hour+ wait? Single rider?

For any uber-popular ride like 7DMT, the only real options without a fast pass are rope drop or closing time. Closing time is usually better, and much less frantic. Just get in line shortly before the park is scheduled to close (or shortly before the party is scheduled to start, if you're going during party season) and the wait should be shorter than average. And you get to experience the entire queue, unlike when you use a fast pass.

We also prefer to wait until closer to closing time for this one. We've been on it several times and our longest wait was 20 minutes during opening week in 2014.

Right after the fireworks show is also a good time to hop in line. We've found 10 minute waits in the middle of summer using this strategy, but you do have to hurry.
