My kids will be 2, 4, 6, and 8 at our Disney trip. The 2 year old will be obviously too small for the 7DMT ride at Magic Kingdom but the older 3 are big enough. My husband plans to just sit it out with the baby. But what is the seating like on that ride? Would I be able to bring all 3 by myself? I've never been on it before so I wasn't sure how it was set up.

the cars are only 2 and only 2 people can fit in the set no matter how small you are.

you can sit with the 4 year old and have the two older one ride in the set infant of you

also get a rider swap so your husband can ride with the kids again

They wouldn't let our kids sit together, even right in front of us, because DS was under 7. (They were 4 and 11) He had to sit with an adult.

But I think I've heard other people say they were able to, so it probably just depends on the CM you get, and how strict they are being.

But definitely take advantage of Child Swap!

wow sorry this happened I know they will not let kids go on rides by them self but if the parent is behind then then they can ride ( think of space you are not sitting by anyone at all and very young kids ride this ride,) I would have asked to talk to a lead or manager or were you the only adult then I could see them wanting the youngest with you.

Thanks! My 7 year old is very tall, like 56 inches or something. He looks like a 10 year old basically. So maybe they'll let him ride with the 6 year old.

So I was going to do FP+ for 7DMT for me and the big kids, and do a FP+ for something nearby for my husband and the baby (like Winnie the Pooh). But if we do that, can we still use the rider swap? Or do I need to get him a FP for 7DMT?

They were being very strict about it on ALL the rides. DH or I had to be physically in the seat with DS, even on Pooh and Small World. They actually made us get up and move when we let the kids sit in front of us. (I just wanted them both in front so they could see) Based on that logic, I don't know how anyone under 7 would be allowed to ride Space Mountain, lol!

But that was over a year ago. Maybe they've come to their senses by now??

yes you can have both FP for 7dmt your you and your oldest then a FP for your husband and little one for pooh but in order to get a rider swap the CM must see the too little one so you need to stop at the 7DMT first there is also a little gift shop out side of pooh that your little one can look in.

not sure why either maybe they were trying to get more people on IASW or something who know I just know I have seen kids on 7DMT sit together ( two twins I think they were 5 they had Bday buttons on ) and there younger sibling sat with there mom ( I guess that is who it was )

Last year I rode alone with my 5 and 7 year old in front of me. My mom rode behind me with my 3 year old.

My husband and I went to the Studios over Memorial Day weekend. Naturally, it was fairly crowded and we were able to get on Toy Story Mania shortly after we arrived (that's a whole different story). Anyway, we thought the family of a father and his two sons and one daughter in front of us were with an older couple in front of them. They weren't and the two older people went to the separate way for parties of two. Neither my husband nor I thought about the father and his three young kids in front of us until we reached the seater. The father was asked how many and he replied "four". Then the Cast Member asked how old the kids were and they told him. All were under the age of seven. The father was told that the Cast Member was sorry but they wouldn't be able to ride. I was going to speak up but my husband did it first. So, I rode with the little girl, my husband rode with the oldest son, and the dad rode with the youngest son.

So, Disney can be strict on the ages of the kids. And, there is some leeway as well as the Cast Member looked relieved when we offered to help.

I think the "rule" is that children under 7 must be in the same "ride vehicle" as an adult. On the mine train, kids sitting in front of their parents would be in the same "ride vehicle." On TSMM, they would not be in the same "ride vehicle."

I didn't realize that.

My 7 year old sat by himself while I sat with my 4 year old. He is small for 7 and we were not questioned. He loved that independence :)

What is the exact age/rule for riding alone? We are a party of 5--my husband, 10 year old, 5 year old, and 3 year old. I'm assuming the 2 littles will have to ride with DH or myself, but will the 10 year old be able to ride some rides with one of her sisters or will she be with some random single rider the whole time?

The family behind us in line for TSMM, they wouldn't let the 13 year old ride with the 3 year old. They were told she needed to be at least 14 to ride with the little one. I thought that was nuts, especially since her parent was in the same car. She ended up riding alone and the mom had to take 2 smaller kids with her.

The rule is to ride alone you need to be at least 7.

Your 10 yo probably won't be allowed to ride lone with one of the younger ones as the rule is 8 to ride alone and 14 to ride with someone under 7. However many rides depending on the sizes of those in your party you can ride 3 and 2. 7DMT is not one of these but BTM and most of the dark rides you can fit three and 2 either one adult and two littles or the 10yo an adult and a little one.

See, that's not how I understand the rule to be. I thought the rule was that a parent had to be in the same ride vehicle (not necessarily the same row). Posters have reported differing experiences on this. I can't find the "official" rule written any place. It would be nice to know the exact wording of the rule and why it's not being applied uniformly by all CMs.
