7DMT - How jerky/bumpy?

I have had some recent health issues and my doctor has put a few restrictions on me because of them. I explained about our trip to Disney in Nov. and he said "nothing too jerky/bumpy/fast stopping". Basically, nothing that would cause a lot of twisting/side-to-side jerking/whiplash type movements of my neck. I've already ruled a few things out, but have never been on 7DMT and would really like to if I can. I didn't know if the fact that the cars swing would make it a smoother ride or if that would make it more jerky. Thanks for any info!

It is one of the smoothest rides I've ever been on. And that is one of the reasons why I love it! You should be absolutely fine on 7DMT. It is not jerky at all.

The swinging cars definitely make it a smoother ride than most coasters I have been on. That is one of my favorite things about it. Most coasters, even kiddie ones, I have to hold my 3 year old tight so her head doesn't bang around. I don't have to do that on SDMT.

It is still a coaster, though, and does have some drops and turns. Obviously, I can't advise you on your medical condition because I don't know how severe the restrictions are.

For me, it a very smooth ride. It could still injure someone with neck/back issues, though.

There is one jerky movement right before you go up the first hill. It typically causes our heads to jerk back against the headrest. I actually hold my hand behind DS7's head at this point to keep it from hitting the headrest.

7DMT is about the smoothest family/kiddie coaster you are ever going to find, but like a previous poster said, it is still a coaster, so there are some short hills and tight turns and kind of a fast stop at the end. Swinging cars does make it a little smoother. I'm sure you can find lots of videos on youtube showing how fast it goes to give you a better idea. You can also wait until you get there to make a decision. We were able to get my 70yo+ parents on 7DMT on our last trip after they could see how fast it went.

It is very mild compared to the, other coasters in WDW. Don't feel it is jerry or twisty at all. As others have suggested watch some utube videos there are plenty.

The only one smoother on Disney property is the Barnstormer. SDMT is smoooooth.

I cant do space anymore as it too jerky. Did space in california last month and felt ill.

Anyway i found 7 dwarfs to be so smooth. I think i commented on how smooth it was whilst riding it.

Disney did a good job there.

Thank you everyone for your replies! I will definitely take a look at some videos!

First, I just took my 3 year old on 7DMT for the first time and found it to be very smooth coaster, especially compared to something like barnstormer so that should be good news to you. Secondly though, i'm not sure what kind of heath issue you are having but it sounds like a cervical mobility issue. The coaster is smooth but does have some turns that will apply some side/lateral pressure. I work in physical therapy and the neck area is always an area we take precaution on. Do you have a soft brace you can maybe use just for rides like this in case your neck can't support the winding, turning and drops?

I think the stop at the end (before the turn to see the final house scene) seems to be the most abrupt part of the ride.

I have neck issues and cannot ride regular 'thrill' coasters, but after reviews I did do 7DMT twice. It really is the smoothest coaster I have ever ridden even though it is a little jerky at times. My suggestion is to definitely ride close to the front - we heeded that suggestion from others - glad we did!

Super smooth but a couple times at the very end as its coming back inside, there was an abrupt stop, just put your hand out in front and brace and it won't be an issue.

I don't ride on rollercoasters because of back problems. I did ride 7DMT four times on my last trip. The first three times everything was smooth and fine. The last time there was a part close to the end of the ride where it make a quicker turn. That did jerk my back so I am undecided about going on it on my next trip. I am not sure if where I was sitting made the difference.

Thanks for all the replies! In response to the brace question, no it's not a cervical problem, it's a vascular issue that occurred during an angiogram I recently had, so I don't know if a brace would help at all. As my DH pointed out if I can't ride, it gives us an excuse to go back again. (not that we need one ;))

Ride near the front as the back gets whipped over the hills. (Which is why I always ride in back!)
