My kids and I are headed to WDW over Labor Day weekend to see my oldest who is doing the college program. I just got access today to tickets he earned so when I made FPs, 7DMT was not available. We will be in MK on Sunday September 2. What are the chances any FP will become available? If not, how much luck have people had getting there at opening to get in line?

Do rope drop, head right over to 7 DMT. If you are staying on site and your MK day is an early magic hour day, then all the better go early! And if you are off site and your MK day is an EMH morning I would expect it will already be crowded by the time you get there.

Getting in line 5 minutes before closing may be a better option than rope-dropping. If you're not at the front of the line at rope drop, then anyone that was able to get a FP for 9-10 will have priority over you. However, if you get in line 5 minutes before close, then no one will be using FP. I would guess you could get through the line in 30-40 minutes at the end of the night. Unless you are really close to the front at rope drop, you won't do much better.

The added bonus is that you can hit multiple other attractions at rope drop in the time you would be doing mine train. At park closing, all attractions are the same. You only get one last ride no matter how long or short the line is.

I pulled a same day last December. Got it in the afternoon for the evening.

I would also advise you to keep refreshing after you use the 3 you have. We got some as a 4th FP last October.
