I am making my first visit to The World in March and I just made an ADR for a 7am breakfast at Chef Mickey's. My question is, can I use the bus system that early, or will I need to take a cab (we won't have a car)? We'd need to leave the Pop by 6:40am, take the bus to MK and take the monorail to the Contemporary. Is everything up and running that early?

It will be pulling it tight but you MAY be able to do it. I remember being at the bus stop about 630 two mornings in a row last March. The driver may even drop you at the Contemp

Wow, that's an early seating!! I never make them before 7:30 since I don't like to get moving so early. But, I would certainly get to the bus stop way before 6:40. I would be out there at 6:15.Yes, I realize that's early, but the buses run every 15 minutes or so. If you get there and the bus is just pulling away, you could have a 10-15 min wait for the next bus!! You would have to get to MK and then either take the monorail or walk to the Contemporary.
Yes, sometimes a bus driver will drop you at the CR but in all my times having early breakfast there it has never happened to me. I always have to get off at MK and walk over.
For an ADR that early, I would be very tempted to take a cab....you could sleep a bit later and then not have to worry about getting there in time.

Thanks for your insight.

I know it's rediculously early, but it was the VERY LAST ressie available (that's what I get for procrastinating and going at Spring Break time). This is my first trip and I only have one day so I thought why not make the best of it! I'm not going to WDW to sleep. I think we are going to take a cab, that way we can leave around 6:30. I still have no comprehension as to how large the WDW compound actually is, hahah!

Have a terrific first trip. Remember....don't try to do it all/see it all in that one day!!! WDW isn't going anywhere. Just gives you an excuse to head back for a longer visit!!!

It's a huge place!!! No way will you come even close to doing everything. We were there for just one day back in January. We've been multiple times so know exactly what we're doing. We know exaclty how to get to where we want to go, and what we want to do when we get there. Still didn't get to do the things we wanted to squeeze into that one day!!!!

That's exactly why I wanted to book a character breakfast to maximize my time in the MK. I knew for my first trip I needed to meet some characters but I didn't want to waste time standing in meet and greet lines during the day. This way I can eat a TS meal (something I didn't think I was going to be able to do this time), get some nice photos with characters, and take the monorail right to the park opening. Then I'm jumping on all the rides I can before heading over to EPCOT for EMH (I'll probably only hit up the World Showcase). My basic strategy is to prioritize but go with the flow.

I see you plan on a cab now, but I was goingto say to allow at LEAST 40 minutes for the commute by bus.

Also, I really don't advise 2 parks in a one day stay. First of all yo uare spending BIG money for that hopper for one day. And if it is spriong break it is going to be so crowded! You aren't going to get on many rides. And you really won't enjoy the MK much if you rush. And then, again you will be rushed at EPCOT as well. I know I wouldn't enjoy it. To me, MK needs 2 days, and then I hit the other parks at random. This trip we are even skipping MGM, as we don't have enough time to do it all, and I want to be sure to get enough time in at Mk for my 2 year old.

I think trying to do all that in such a short time may actually ruin your experience a bit.
